Went to a recruiter today and suggested I study this after my practice test! did VERY well in Word Knowledge and Paragraph Comprehension but HORRIBLY in Math Knowledge and Arithmetic Reasoning! SO REVIEW this if you suck at Math like me!
We do hope you find our video helpful. For a more complete review, however, we suggest our ASVAB Exam Secrets Study Guide. You can read all about it at www.mometrix.com/studyguides/asvab.
great video but you cant just be making the assumption like we already know why you took out a certain number you're common sense isnt our common scense

Thank you for helping me, it is very helpful to have someone like you to help me. I appreciate it, and want to make sure you know how much I am grateful for your support.
Just passed my asvab thanks to your videos they really helped me out. Iv been out of high school for 5 years and these videos were very refreshing, wish I could personally thank the people in the video. shipping to basic feb 4th as 11x infantry hooah
Can you please tell me the math problems you study? I scored a 28% on the Asvab pretest at the recruiter office. There's like 32 different math problems on this video help
@@semperfi5494 These videos are just a sample of some of the types of problems you may see on the exam. For a more complete ASVAB review, we suggest our Exam Secrets Study Guide. You can read all about it at www.mometrix.com/studyguides/asvab.
Semper fi hey man I took the practice at my recruiters and got a 26! So then I studied and took the (picat) and got a 30 so then I went to meps and took the full asvab and passed with a 40. Out of all 3 tests I took they all had different problems so it’s hard to say what’s gonna be on it. My suggestion is just go take it and see how you do so you have an idea of what to expect. Ps. Also it’s true what they say the actual asvab is easier then the practice and the picat so idk if that will help take some weight off your shoulders.
Just some words for motivation. I got my GED as a sophomore had to teach myself all of this watching you tube videos... In the army they had just raised it to having to have an alpha statues test score to get in (You can join reserves than become full service) I wanted to prove a point I wanted to prove to all the teachers and people telling me I wasnt smart enough to do this and look at me now... Its not just about serving your country you have to want this for yourself. These you tubers and the stuff they put out there is amazing and WILL teach everything you need to know... There is no excuse for not being able to do it if you really try hard. Believe in yourself and you can do it. Remember at least for the army " I will never accept defeat I will never quite".
My practice test score was like 20. I studied for like five days a month after and just went in today and got a 73. I was literally praying for this video's downfall but it was totally worth it lol thank you so much! :)
That's great. For a more complete ASVAB review, we always suggest our ASVAB Exam Secrets Study Guide. You can read all about it at www.mometrix.com/studyguides/asvab.
I took the test today and failed. Now I’m watching this video and it helps a lot. I really hope that I pass it next time and get a big improvement. Please pray that I pass. I really want to serve in the Military.

For quadratic equations at 2:14:23, it seems that you forgot to mention one of the rules for the graph making, namely, how you find each consecutive point past the first 'a' term. Observing, I noticed that the pattern is 1/1 for the first, 1/3 for the second, but I can't determine the one for the second equation (y=-2x'2). Does this rule get explained later in the video, or can you explain it here?
Still having trouble with the volumes, areas, ect... it's confusing. For instance how you get 1/3 (12) on Volume and surface area of a pyramid? please re explain ASAP
The 1/3 is part of the formula for calculating volume of a pyramid. The 12 in the height of the pyramid that was given to us in the problem. Hope this helps. For more practice for the ASVAB, we recommend our Study Guide. You can order it at www.myasvabsecrets.com.
Any tips? I have a high grade in most of my classes and I still scored a 32 or 31. Watching these videos brought it a bit up but still. I’m hoping on getting a 60+ next time I go
We do hope the video is helpful! If you'd like a more complete review, we suggest our ASVAB Exam Secrets Study Guide. You can read all about it at www.mometrix.com/studyguides/asvab.
Making my brain hurt. And sometimes the breakdown isn't broken down enough 😰😫 for example 22:10 why did you multiply the 5 by 4 ? Because of the 4 denominator?
Yes, we are getting rid of the 4 denominator so you have to multiply each part of the inequality by 4. Hope this helps. For more ASVAB review, we suggest our excellent study guide. You can read all about it at www.mometrix.com/studyguides/asvab.
Don't give up. Math is often the hardest part for many people. Just keep studying and watching the videos until the concepts make sense. For more review, we suggest our ASVAB Study guide which is available on our website at www.myasvabsecrets.com!
The square root of 3 is about 1.73. 24 multiplied by 1.73 is 41.52 which rounds up to approximately 42 inches. Hope this helps. For more ASVAB review, check out our study guide at www.mometrix.com/studyguides/asvab.
In mathematics, a percentage is a number or ratio that can be expressed as a fraction of 100. So you need the bottom of the fraction to be 100. Hope this helps.
During Ratios and Decimals, you said the 20 : 25 is improper, but improper ratios can't have a denominator greater than the numerator. Isn't that supposed to be a proper ratio?
This video is great, but my only problem are the guys assuming we know what they are talking about. The only person who made sense in this video was the women, I understood everything she was talking about.
We are glad the video was helpful. If you'd like a more complete ASVAB review, we recommend our study guide. You can read all about it at www.mometrix.com/studyguides/asvab!
sorry to ask i had to go back to fraction trying to figure out something but im lost. On Volume And Surface Of A Sphere or 1:49:09 how did you multiplied 4/3*216ft i tried flipig dividing turning into a mix but i still dont get 288
+teno21 You first mulitply 216 by 4 which is 864. Then divide 864 by 3 to get 288. Hope this helps. Be sure to check out our awesome study guide for the ASVAB at www.myasvabsecrets.com!

need tips, should I try and watch without taking notes? (the whole video) or take notes and watch and study briefly? I lose focus easily and really want to enlist and my recruiter recommended Mometrix and to study everyday for 20 minutes.
You should use whichever method works best for you. We do have an excellent Study Guide for the ASVAB on our website at www.myasvabsecrets.com. It contains some general test-taking strategies as well as the content specific to the ASVAB.
What I did is watch the video once to take notes and watch the video a second time to observe the way that they solve problems. Before taking the test, study your notes.
I have a question. If i pass the two Math sections with a 50 and pass the paragraph Comp but dont do to well on the Word knowledge would i still pass the asvab ?
You'll have to speak with your recruiter about specific passing requirements for your branch of service. If you'd like more review, be sure to check out our study guide at www.mometrix.com/studyguides/asvab.
Is there a way I can acquire the asvab lesson packs for home use? I'm interested. Thanks for the videos; they are really helping me strengthen my weak areas in math so I can prepare for the asvab.

so when solving that inequality howd you get 48 , did you you the rule what you do to one side you do to the other , therefore you multiplied 12 by 4 resulting in 48 ?

The left side of the inequality is 20 - 12x - 3x - 2 so when you combine the terms you have a positive 20 and a negative 2. That is 20 - 2 which is 18. Hope this helps. For more ASVAB review, we suggest our study guide which is available at www.mometrix.com/studyguides/asvab.

He was simplifying the 43 + -12(n-1) expression to 43 + -12n + -12(-1) which is then 43 - 12n + 12 which is then -12n + 55. Hope this helps. For more ASVAB practice, we recommend our study guide which is available at www.mometrix.com/studyguides/asvab.
so my first test i got 15 then i took it again hoping to beat my score so i went to my recruiter ask for the test and i got 15 again. now i'm here watching a 5 hour video. what worse is math is my worse subject ughhh .

No offense but the guy really has to do a better job at explaining what hes doing like down to the basic levels at 37:34 he divided one side of the equation twice that isnt possible from my understanding.
+Antuan Siebert We cannot give you actual test questions from an exam as that would be illegal. We are simply giving you a cross-section of problems you may see on the ASVAB. Also be sure to check out our other ASVAB study materials on our website. Good luck on your exam.

the second topic . ratios and percentages, what if the total number of marbles wasnt a number like 50, what if it was 26 how would we get the denominator to 100 in order to get a percentage easily ?
You would simply divide the ratio and then multiply by 100 to make it a percentage. 20 divided by 50 is .4 then .4 multiplied by 100 is 40%. Or 20 divided by 26 is .769 mulitplied by 100 is 76.9 or 77%. Hope this helps. For more ASVAB review, check out our study guide at www.mometrix.com/studyguides/asvab.

@@alkalionpower i took the asvab and got a 26 as well then i took the afqt test and got a 34 so now im going to meps tomorrow to take the test again.
Took the asvab for the navy yesterday and pass, these videos help out alot..

Making my brain hurt. And sometimes the breakdown isn't broken down enough 😰😫 for example 22:10 why did you multiply the 5 by 4 ? Because of the 4 denominator?

8:38 why did you have to get the 100 ?
In mathematics, a percentage is a number or ratio that can be expressed as a fraction of 100. So you need the bottom of the fraction to be 100. Hope this helps.
During Ratios and Decimals, you said the 20 : 25 is improper, but improper ratios can't have a denominator greater than the numerator. Isn't that supposed to be a proper ratio?
I just wanna cry because I’m so slow
