The meaning of the lyrics are so true to the couple. Tells about someone who obviously has low self-esteem as shinji and someone that in their view are perfect and kaworu is confirmed by anno that is shinji's ideal self. Plus the "idk what u find so special about me" could be how Kaworu is the only one in the series that had respect for shinji and showed him what real love is, and shinji couldnt understand how was that.
Ironic isn't it? Shinji fought against angels to protect humanity, yet he found respect and true love, not from his fellow humans, but from an angel.
@@annmaryjohn3258 Sometimes life's like that. You end up finding love (not necessarily romantic love) in the last place you could imagine. We like to assume who might love us, but we can be very wrong. Sometimes our "enemies" are enemies only in our heads.
It look like this song talks about Shinji’s feelings... but I think it’s more suitable for Kaworu...
I agree, as a Kaworu kinnie, I believe he is often portrayed as a simple character, only wanting Shinji to be happy and that’s it. But it’s often ignored at the lengths he will go to, to make Shinji happy. He will literally do anything for Shinji, but Kaworu doesn’t like anyone else, he is bored by life, he feels like no one needs him. But Shinji does. It may seem selfish but Kaworu wants to be needed, he doesn’t want help, he would rather help someone else. He doesn’t love himself at all, but he loves Shinji. He thinks that compared to Shinji he is nothing, that he had no purpose before him, and that Shinji was his only purpose. Kaworu would do anything for Shinji, but only because he loves Shinji more than he loves himself

I gotta say, this has got to be my favorite kawoshin amv. I feel that an anime like evangelion doesn't need special effects, just clips that are put in the right sequence, and this does exactly that. Moreover, the meaning and lyrics of the song heavily relate to the relationship of kaworu and shinji. This music video captures the essence of kawoshin so beautifully and faithfully that I couldn't help but cry the first few times I watched this. In fact, when I think of kawoshin, I am always reminded of this exact video.Thanks man.
oh and if you're looking for more kawoshin amvs, I suggest "TRY AGAIN" by shittyalienkid. The mood of that is a lot different than this, but I'm pretty fond of it.
Oh my god, this has to be one of the most wonderful comments (and compliments) I've ever received. This really means a lot. It's things like this that help me persevere as an artist when things get hard, and keep faith in my work if I ever begin to doubt.

The fact that Kawoshin is what I considered the most pure ship in all Evangelion yet they decided to make Shinji end with someone who didn't even have growth in the Rebuild i-
They didn't "make" Shinji end up with Mari, it's all of you fans that are making it out to be that way when it doesn't even make sense at all.
If you like Kawoshin why wouldn't you say that Shinji and Kaworu are the end game? After all Shinji cried for 45 minutes of the movie and grieved Kaworu's death, he thought of him, during Instrumentality Kaworu told him their names are written in the Book of Life and that they're destined to meet forever, Shinji created a new world where Kaworu doesn't have to die anymore and when he opened his eyes in that new world whose face did he see first? Kaworu's!!! Put a bit more faith in their relationship and interactions please. If Anno truly wanted you to think Shinji and Mari are the romantic outcome he would make them have some romantic moments in 2 and a half hour movie but they didn't. Kaworu is still the one who had the most romantic interactions with Shinji. And they'll definitely meet again, as Kaworu already said :)
@@viviena124 yes this is correct, hideki said the ending is completely open to interpretation! there is no confirmation that shinji and mari are a couple.
it is the same kaworu in each lifetime, and he works his mf ass off to prove his love and dedication to shinji each time. he doesn't care how long it takes. in the neon genesis series the lilith rei hybrid transforms into kaworu so shinji will accept instrumentality, since they knew his presence would calm him. not to mention that entire sequence was a metaphor for intercourse LMFAOO but the kawoshin is real.
they literally have official wedding rings of each other you can buy, not to mention pretty much all merch with shinji and someone else is always kaworu. they are always paired together in everything
and girl don't even get me started on the visual novels...
shinji didn’t get with mari she was just bringing him back to the real world from the anti universe. who he gets with is left to interpretation

(STILL DON'T GET PEOPLE THAT SAY THEY AREN'T GAY FOR EACHOTHER LOLOL) one thing I love so so so much about Shinjis character is the confusion he had with his feelings for kowaru and I definitely think it was intentional. this series shows Shinjis struggles. from piloting the Eva to his sexuality. in the manga AND animations he's shown to be kind of confused by liking another guy. I think he even mentions it in the manga. it's so interesting and very real. around Shinjis age is around the time when teenagers are figuring all of this out and I think Evangelion portrayed it amazingly with shinji and kowaru, even if it could be speculated that you don't knke for sure with kowaru because he isn't human. but I like to ignore that part lol
Pro Nerd kaworu definitely loved him but it could have been a different form of love. Kinda how a 5 year old loves y'know? I like to compare nonhuman characters trying to be like humans to 5 year olds in terms of emotional capacity and such. I love kaworshin with a passion and def think they loved each other truly. But I also love the deep psychology behind Kaworu's emotions.
Lmao an authors note in the manga is basically the author saying he himself started to develop a crush on kaworu too.
I do think Shinji is very sexually confused and potentially gay but for Kaworu I think its something more simple. Kaworu's not human he's an angel so although he has a male body I don't think he really cares too much about gender or sexuality he just loves Shinji. I remember Hideaki said something along the lines of "Kaworu would love Shinji no matter if he was a girl, a cat or a flower". I think that's a really powerful message.
One day I hope for our world to be an ideal one where people of any sexuality don't have to "come out of the closet", where they don't have be put in a category as gay, lesbian, or bisexual etc. Just as a person loving another person.

the manga really shows struggles about finding your sexuality with how shinji say mutlible times that two guys shouldn't like each other that way and yet he later says he had feeling for him, even if he was a guy
I really don't get how some people can hate shinji he was literally 14 when all of this happend he was just a kid he never had someone to call his own because they died plus his character is one of the most relatable characters in eva for me it's just impossible to hate him

God my heart was beating so fast the whole time, I was so scared That Scene would happen but it didn't and I'm glad but my heart is still broken. Kaworu is the only person to truly love and respect Shinji just for being himself, and Kaworu is the only person Shinji feels relaxed enough around to show his true colors. It's not fair to either of them, that they're destined to be separated.

such a fitting song for the 2. i just want 1 damned reality in which Kaworu survives. they could make another sequel to rebuilds in the future, considering Hideaki also said EOE was the last of evangelion, yet here we are with a 4th movie in the making. if they make a 2nd sequel movie/tv show, i just want Kaworu to live it to the end, as a human or angel, he's a pure-hearted boy (or soul of Adam) who deserves better than to fall in love and instantly have it taken away.
Hey I don't know if you watched it but in the last rebuild movie Kaworu is alive at the end and it's hinted heavily throughout the movie that him and Shinji are meant for each other and that they'll meet again :)
i have never watched this anime but i am spending my time watching amvs and clips of these two together instead of studying for exams.. the relationship feels so natural, and i got attached already. Its amazing to the point i want to cry when i found out what happens to kaworu :(

rose quartz once said "this world is full of so many possibilities, Each living thing has an entirely unique experience. The sights they see... the sounds they hear... the lives they live are so complicated and so simple.". this fits so well in Kawuro's views in humanity in a sense. For rose quatz, she was supposed to colonize earth and kill all organic life including humans, after seeing the life on earth, she wanted to protect humanity for her fascination to humanitie's capacity for growth and change, for Kawuro, he wanted humanity to keep on living after knowing Shinji and through him, the complexity of human life made him rethink his purpose of ending humanity and sees that human life as important. Rose's and Kaworu's character really complement each other knowing that both of them are non human loving someone that is human, and this song was supposed to be for Steven who is someone that Rose loved or in this case this for Shinji whom Kawuro loves.

It’s funny also because of how similar Kaworu is to the crystal gems, in that being an Angel, he was placed with humanity to destroy them, but instead found something (and someone) he fell in love with.
