To me, Clyde was one of the last greats of the 70’s styled game, he represented the OGs in the league and their long standing fans. MJ was the next era, the youth movement. Classic battle between “the way it was” vs “the way it’s gonna be” Btw, I was on the fence. I really like Clyde’s game, he was one of my favorite players. Only thing he lacked was that grit or chip on the shoulder, he legitimately seemed like a nice guy.

To me, Clyde was one of the last greats of the 70’s styled game, he represented the OGs in the league and their long standing fans. MJ was the next era, the youth movement. Classic battle between “the way it was” vs “the way it’s gonna be”
Btw, I was on the fence. I really like Clyde’s game, he was one of my favorite players. Only thing he lacked was that grit or chip on the shoulder, he legitimately seemed like a nice guy.

You can tell MJ looked at Clyde as just another star player but not on his level of "greatness" with Magic, Bird, Kareem. I remember in the 80s and 90s, Clyde Drexler was often called "a poor man's Jordan", which sounds real insulting, like they clownin' you bad, but not really a bad thing to be a poor man Jordan. In the 1992 NBA Finals, if anything I thought it was unfair TO CLYDE for the media to constantly compare Drexler to Jordan. Michael was in his own league.
