      Same here. I think if he would've worked on his handles and got a tighter dribbling mike, he would've been even better.
      His shot didn't look good either but it worked for him.

    Anyone who watched that era knows how great Clyde was and how well he played against MJ. He was a GREAT player. He just couldn’t get over the hump against Chicago in the playoffs/Finals.
    MJ beat more great players than many today give him credit for.

    Clyde Drexler led 2 teams to the NBA finals only getting beat by the Bad Boy Pistons and Bulls. Drexler won a ring as a Co star with Hakeem. Blazers Drexler didn’t have an MVP caliber teammate on his team in a Pippen. When people bring up MJ, Kobe, Wade, they need to talk about Drexler

      @@geemonty8902 I didn’t say Drexler led the Rockets obviously Hakeem was the best player. I said Drexler 2 teams to the finals that was in 1990 and 1992 with the Blazers. Also Rockets weren’t that good of a team in 1995 that’s why Houston made the move. In 1995 Clyde avg 21-7-5-2 on 48% in the playoffs and avg 22-9-7-1 on 45% in the finals. He was a phenomenal number co star to Hakeem.

That’s why in 1996 Bulls ran out and got Rodman to contend with the Magic. And yes I’ll take Drexler over Pippen. You gotta show me you can lead teams to the finals before I’m taking you over Drexler

      Jordan is so ridiculously great that anyone who can challenge him for even 1 game, is considered a truly special person.
      No real fan of basketball will try to say MJ and Drexler were in the same class as basketball players, but Drexler was no doubt one of the best players of his era.

    MJ’s pro comp was Clyde, many don’t remember that, so it was personal for him….he thought he was better. And for Clyde, he felt slighted due to falling in the draft a year prior, and then being compared to someone younger, and him being given all this praise even though they were virtually the same player…..it was an amazing matchup to see.

    people forget this Clyro there is also a champion. He is the main reason why the Houston Rockets were able to repeat with Hakeem; and if they were able to team up a couple years earlier, they probably would have like three rings in the arrow and met Jordan and Pippin in the finals which would have been glorious to watch

    To me, Clyde was one of the last greats of the 70’s styled game, he represented the OGs in the league and their long standing fans. MJ was the next era, the youth movement. Classic battle between “the way it was” vs “the way it’s gonna be”
    Btw, I was on the fence. I really like Clyde’s game, he was one of my favorite players. Only thing he lacked was that grit or chip on the shoulder, he legitimately seemed like a nice guy.

    You can tell MJ looked at Clyde as just another star player but not on his level of "greatness" with Magic, Bird, Kareem. I remember in the 80s and 90s, Clyde Drexler was often called "a poor man's Jordan", which sounds real insulting, like they clownin' you bad, but not really a bad thing to be a poor man Jordan. In the 1992 NBA Finals, if anything I thought it was unfair TO CLYDE for the media to constantly compare Drexler to Jordan. Michael was in his own league.
