    My favorite book is Aquatic Amigurumi, and I’m so excited there’s a new one coming out! I loved all your top five, except for your number four. I know a lot of ppl like that one, but it doesn’t appeal to me. I do have it , though, amigurumi book hoarder here… 🤪… but like you say, it’s wonderful how each of us gravitate towards different designers. It’s what makes this community so much fun!!

      I thought of you when I saw my Aquatic amigurumi book, as I know you've made many patterns from it (I'm sure I've seen a lot of your makes on Julie's previous 'featured photos Friday' videos). That book is amazing, but definitely for the more advanced crocheter. I can't wait for her second book coming out (either end of the year, or next year, I can't remember now).

    Hello Cassandra. I have quite a lot of Amigurumi books and also a lot of other crochet books too. I also have a lot of knitting books because I knit too. I am a bookaholic. I have books on owls, greyhounds, birds, all sorts of animals, hyenas, African wild dogs and a vast array of many animal books. I love books and I love patterns. I don't have a real favourite I love them all. The more RUclips channels I watch the more books I buy. I also love audible books. Thank you for an interesting video. I started my amigurumi journey with knitting and I have made dozens of critters out of books by Rebecca Danger. Just based on my enjoyment, number of patterns I’ve made and the nostalgia, I’d have to say my number one book is The Big Book of Knitted Monsters.

    congratulations of having your pattern published! 👏 The books all sound great - do they all use US crochet terms? Books are quite expensive - but I am tempted. I am after all, a novice when it comes to amigurumi. I've made a frog with a wonky leg, and a chameleon with lop-sided eyes! I do enjoy your videos which show us your city, and seeing your amigurumi visiting nature! 😀

    • @craftablyeverafter
      @craftablyeverafter  4 месяца назад +1

      Thank you 🌺 All the books on my top 5 are in US terms. Books are an investment, for sure. But if you compare how many patterns you get, compared to buying single patterns, it makes it worth it. That being said, I crocheted for about 5 years before I started buying amigurumi books. Mostly I used free patterns, and bought patterns mostly when they were on sale.

    So funny. I am making the lion out of the Cutest Crochet Creations right now and he is big with a four weight yarn! I was thinking of you and how you use smaller yarn and I should have done that with him, lol. That being said he is going to be cuter than I expected! 😍 The book is probably my #1 pick. I’m trying to make everything in it eventually. The Luka the lion is my 11th one. Only 5 more to go. 😀 There is only one pattern in it I’m not fond of that I made and that is the Cynthia doll. The biggest problem is her nose, it looks odd. I would change the pattern to omit the nose if I made her again.

      Not all my books are in great condition 😊 I do bend the books open quite a bit to make them stay open (although I don't press them completely flat), so many of my spines are quite bent. Sadly, I do have some books where the pages have come loose, so I think it also depends a lot on the quality of the binding.
