I recently bought a Vulcan 800 classic and so far it has been the best bike i have owned, i started out with a Yamaha maxim 650, was a great bike but leaked bad. Then jumped to a Honda magna 750 which was also a great little bike, cruised nice on the highwy . But then found killer deal on Vulcan 800 and bought it, knowing it needed a few things. Boy am i glad i did. After rebuilding carb and installing new spark plug the vulcan was an animal. Always feel nice and sturdy on it, didn’t have much top end power before the tune but after carb rebuild and tune i could be cruising at 80 and open the trhrottle up and QUICKLY reach 100 no problems. I put some new pipes on it no joke i get asked practically ever time i ride if its a Harley because it hits a beautiful deep pitch to it that allows me to b e confident that people close to me know i am there. Over all sir I love my Vulcan like a fat kid loves his mamas cookin.
I know this is an old video but she is a good girl. I have a 2005 with Vance and Hines drag pipes and it is the best balanced cruiser I have ever owned. She is dead reliable not powerful but fantastic torque and carries me all over Tennessee. Mine is garage kept and ridden often like today. I only wish it had a 6th gear.
just got the same one but in red, past owner left her outside for a few months so I have to replace all the fluids and a hose for the radiator that cracked but otherwise it's been running great. I'm in love with her and the one you're on was obviously fixed up so I'd recommend it, it's a whole 'nother riding experience that your sportbike. you feel like just driving around town to unwind? cruiser gives your body a comfortable position and let's you do so, sportbike owners tend to freak out because they're used to being in an unnatural tensed position all the time
I have a 04 Vulcan 800 and I love it. My dad had an 04 or 05 sportster 1200 and he likes mine better! More comfortable ride, lots of pickup, nice sound, looks great. I love it!
Pull the Vulcan over, take 10 seconds and adjust the clutch cable. What Kawasaki should have done is stroke the thing 8mm to 74.2 (903cc) and leave everything else the same, instead of making the Vulcan 900 which weighs over 80 pounds more. But they wanted to make it a "big" bike for the image. Sigh.
the 900 was supposed to be better than the 800(805cc), but because of the bore and stroke and torque it had to be beefer. Then the frame had to be beefer. Beefer: thicker and heavier parts for strength purposes. The 800 and the 900 share nothing in riding experience. Love the 800. Like a small Italian sport car. Light wieght with good torque and horsepower that can be upgraded. Sportster's are hard narrow and Rough. I have a HD, just not a Sportster. owned my 800 since it was new. I love old Evo's ence my Electra Glide. Need a DWG then I'm done.
@@leadfoot1892 I understand the factory's engineering considerations. But it seems to me that the installation of a stroker crank in the 800 would've made it an instant 903 without all the foofarah. (I wonder if you can get the 900 crank into the 800? Just thinking.)
own a 95 Vulcan 800 with 86,000 km "Canadian" lol and she still runs like new. best bike I have ever owned and don't see myself ever getting a replacement. also all the vulcan clutches are like that 😀. Cheers and ride safe brother.
actually i was all set to buy the 800 in the video, but i ended up stumbling on a much better deal, i'll have a video about it up as soon as we get some decent riding weather here. its 18 degrees today
I owned vn900 new in 2015 it's a great bike on the road. You have to fix clutch on your 800 bike I think. Only complaint for Vulcan is not too much accessories found like Harley here in Italy.
I got myself a Vulcan 1600 classic, that bike was a huge surprise cause it handles great and it goes. Give that horse a try if you can, awsome bikes. Keep em comming!
I'll be honest with my Vulcan I've kind of noticed that the clutches tend to have a lot of play in them his clutch could very well be real low but with that being said don't underestimate the Vulcan LOL they actually have quite a bit of power
When I bought mine I thought it needed to be adjusted as well, as I was used to riding a gsxr-1000. I've been around 5 different people who own or owned vulcans, and that's how the clutch are on these bikes apparently.
Both are good bikes. I own both lol. The vn for long trip and the sporty is going my blast around town bike. The sporty you rode needs a little bit of work. I would recommend riding a better one and the get the feel
ehhh not knocking the bike they are very good i have a 1996 vn800 myself and love it.$3000 seems a bit steep though $2000-2250 seems more reasonable now if it had running boards winshield saddle bags light kit and priority light system id say yes to 3000
Another great day and job well done. He couldn't make it easier for you to buy the 800. It's a 2500.00 dollar motorcycle and if you (really) like it; then but it. On the other hand, I can buy a 2013 Triumph America for 4800.00 with 27 miles on it.
I think I actually saw a motorcycle for about 1.5 seconds during the whole video , The rest of the time I was looking down the road over the handlebars or at a garage wall ,as a bike review video your camera work sucks my friend , the 800 sounds great though .
I will tell you that HD was a pos, a good 1200 sportster is close to the 800 vulcan.... with good bars, drag bars or stock bars, it handles v good, it's quick, brakes are a little better that the vulcans the ride not as good power id give the nod to the sportster if it's a 1200 , , the sportster would be a good ride not as good but good enough... that HD was a pos.... the vulcan primo, no comparison. But a good vid none the less.....
what the fuck she wont let him ride it i thought my wife was bad enough but wont let him ride it what the fuck ??????????????????? them vance pipes are evil i got a pair on me aprillia tuono they are worth dying for !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!nice vid fella A.H. from the uk ...........youknow that little island inthe sea some where near to the isle of man where men are men and sheap are well sheap !!!!!!!!!!!!!
My wife tried to not let me ride lol but i simply told her I enjoy it and I wont stop just because you dont like it, if ya want a divorce you can have one. to which she said fine then I'll take your bike in the divorce to which she tried but lawyer saw that it was titled to my dad so she could not take it. my trucks four whellers ands motercycles are titled to him and I'm on it as a CO owner. I own it all just papper work says other wise, me and dad decided that incase she did try to take them same for my guns I have bill of sales saying he bought my guns but i keep them lol. so when she relised i would win she shut up and let me be
It has nothing to do with his wife controlling him. She thinks they are dangerous (she is correct) and he respects how she feels about them enough to not go against her wishes

Yes, buy it. Those Vulcan 800's are fantastic motorcycles and sound like a vtwin cruiser should

i paid $2500 for my 05 vulcan 800. in great condition with 12k miles. also had cobras on it.
Both are good bikes. I own both lol. The vn for long trip and the sporty is going my blast around town bike. The sporty you rode needs a little bit of work. I would recommend riding a better one and the get the feel
recently he's finished restoring the sporty to glory, but its way to cold to be riding now, so in the spring i'll have an update on these.

Vulcan kicking ass biatch....
That pos Harley looks like a moped front end lol
that Vulcan sounds way better than I expected!! What exhaust is on it?
vance & hines Straightshots i think. he put stock pipes on the sporty, seems like a waste, the 800 sounds wicked. the sporty, not so much.
i have the vn 800 and it sounds the same with a stock pipe.. i LOVE THE BIKE
I have V&H Straight shots on my 800. Sounds way better than my Harley sportster did with same pipes
You should get it!
let the Harley VS Metric hate BEGIN!
9:32 imma need a me moment

Cool
Pretty sad he lets his wife control whether or not he rides. He should man up and tell her to get on the back or gtfo.
It has nothing to do with his wife controlling him. She thinks they are dangerous (she is correct) and he respects how she feels about them enough to not go against her wishes
@@Bradbeard-nv1vo that's one way to look at it lol.
@@Bradbeard-nv1vo you must be a simp and your wife wears the pants in the family as well.

Vulcans are junk Harley's the way to go!
