Hi guys welcome to aclaireytale!!! I'm so excited to be working with @StagecoachBus company on this video in the Lake District!! Thank you for your support on this vlog, it means so much to me that I can do things like this and show you all the things you can do in the Lake District. You all know the Lake District means a lot to my family and I, we've been going since forever and always have the best trips.
In this vlog, I show you things to do in Bowness and Ambleside. We commute to and from these little towns in the Lake District via the Stagecoach open topped buses and honestly we had such fun!!
Firstly we stop off at the Low Wood Bay Hotel where we will be staying the night. We have a drink in the cafe and then get on the 599 bus to Bowness. In Bowness we have a lovely lunch at Porto. Then we head to the Beatrix Potter, World of Potter attraction Museum. Then we head to the lake and get on a cruise! Windermere Lakes Cruises are so relaxing, we did a 45minute circle around Lake Windermere. Then we get back to the Low Wood and I show you our room and hotel. We eat dinner at the hotel Blue Smoke Bay and then head out for a walk with the most beautiful pink sunset.
The next morning we head into Ambleside! We get the bus from the Low Wood into Ambleside. I show you a really nice walk called The Waterfalls which is a walk behind the Salutation Hotel. After the walk we head to Apple Pie cafe for a drink and our lunch at the bakery. Then it's time for our spa treatments at the Salutation Hotel! We had a really relaxing time. Then it was time to get the bus back to the hotel and head home!

We first visited The World of Beatrix Potter attraction around 1997 with our four kids, and it hasn't changed much at all since then. The one thing I was saddened to see was that the Mrs Tiggywinkle's kitchen display is now screened off. Back in the day when it was still an open exhibit, the joy my five-year-old daughter got just from sitting at Mrs Tiggywinkle's kitchen table brought smiles to everyone's face.

What a beautiful staycation. It was so lovely. And yes... Beatrix Potter is very popular here. At least she was when I was young way back in the dark ages. Before all the electronics, Mom and I would spend hours in the library and nothing was more exciting than choosing several books to take home. Nice to see your family and your meals looked delicious. Joking aside, it was nice for you to get some reward for showing us around a part of Britain that is as close to your heart as Florida is and the bus is a lovely way to explore the Lake District especially in the weather you enjoyed on this trip. I feel guilty to admit that despite only living two hours away, I have only every visited “The Lakes” three times and that was for a pre look at the Inn on the Lake Hotel at Glenridding for my wife’s niece’s wedding in 2013, the wedding itself the same year and in 2019 we took her and her mum back just after her and her anniversary for lunch. After watching this I felt even more guilty. So many things to do, great food to eat and those portions. No trip is complete with a stay at “The Low Bay Hotel”, the wedding taking place brought so many memories for you and the views from the infinity pool. Wow. Finally that bridge on your walk with Simon was nowhere near as scary as when you walked above the alligators on your backstage tour of Animal Kingdom a few years ago. 🤣.

What a beautiful little vacation! Really enjoyed seeing the Beatrix Potter Museum. Peter Rabbit is the most popular in the U.S., but, I have all the books. They are wonderful stories!

So nice to see the world of Beatrix potter. We went in October and it was a little different with the restrictions but still so nice to do. We also went to Hill Top but again couldn’t go round her house but gives an excuse to go to the Lake District again.

I remember being read or reading myself Peter Rabbit books. Even had a stuff Peter Rabbit animal myself. I think I may have encountered her other stories as well. My cousins and I have grown up with either our parent or grandparents reading us those stories. In the US, I believe it's still fairly big.

The lake district reminds me of my state. I live in a river valley surrounded by little mountains. So pretty! I would love to visit the UK.

Great vlog Claire. We love the Lakes. We have been staying at the same hotel for over 25 years, its in Bowness and called The Ryebeck. There is so much to do in the lakes. Next time we go we may try the bus trips as they look great. Best wishes xx
