This hunt was hands down one of my favorite THP hunts! The patience Jake put into those stalks.. even the persistence at asking for permission! And then cap it all off with a dandy buck and an insane track job and follow up shot… that is die hard bow hunting at its finest right there!
I remember few years ago everyone in comments was dogging Jake for running after a buck that he had shot and wounded. Had he not ran after this one he wouldn't have recovered it. Good on you, Jake!
I’ve never seen anyone flick their hand like a wagging tail like Jake did at 15:30 that was pretty cool to see. I might have to try that sometime. That buck sure seemed to respond to that mock tail movement
Hunting on the ground I had a buck come in and started to head back out before I could get a shot, so I patted the leaves on the ground to mimic the sound of a squirrel in the leaves and he turned around and came back in. I got my buck! Sometimes improvising and thinking outside the box works! 👍😎👍 Good job brother!
Yea man this kid gets after it all these THP boys are hard hunters but its hard not to like Jake hes a good fella and a hell of a hunter hes patient, hes smart and hes just a good person.

People are complaining about showing the buck off before the video which I get (which does suck) but this video was so good. Jake talks everything thru (his mindset and everything) like other comments said it’s the story not the kill always

Absolutely a fantastic way to start off 2024!! People will frown on running behind a shot, but I’m on board, if you can continue to “see” the progress of a wounded deer, there is no better intel than that. The only way you get the follow up death dart off before dark is exactly the way you managed it. Congrats on a beaut of a Buck!!

Once you all get into an area and start walking, you use your binoculars a ton. It's made me practice using mine more and walking about 10x slower than I use to. I really enjoy all your videos. 👍
Jake still hasnt had that golden horse shoe removed I see. That man is on a roll. I liked seeing the follow up process, alot of people wait em out on a bad shot, but he recognized that he needed to stay on him. Great work.
Way to go Jake! Yeah, pour the water on top of the coarse ground coffee. Let it sit for 4 min minimum. Here's the scret...., scoop the coffee grinds off the top. I use a plastic/paper coffee cup lid. Then keep the french press plunger on top without plunging it to the bottom. I keep it at the surface level as I drink. You'll get better taste, WAY less grinds in your cup, and clean up is way easier afterwards.
Poor Bret having to eat the bug while Jake boogers the buck by eating corn (and trying to play it off like the wind swirled). Awesome hunt. Jake is the man!

Carry a sock or paper towel with you and it works even better.
