11:00 So the P in corp is silent if you're talking about a military unit, and pronounced if you're talking about a company. When it's a company, corp is short for corporation, but for military units, that's just the word, like the Marine Corp, pronounced like core. Both are from latin (corpus, meaning body), but the army one took a detour through french, cors (also meaning body). That's why the P changes, it was dropped in french derivations and added back in later as a silent letter.
The gasp I elicited when I saw the fish caught at 28:05 that's the Tully Monster, the state fossil of my home! It's such an obscure creature that I was so surprised to see it utilized in this game!
It's cute watching Gab slowly approach docks instead of just yeeting the boat into them with the afterburner on like my crazy ass did. I embraced the madness and stopped sleeping in the game pretty early on.
You're also talking about the fisherman who dropped off fish to random hooded figures at stone structures and watched them either tear the hearts out with their bare hands or tear into them with their teeth for the heart, receive a book once they'd brought enough fish, and just shrugged as the hooded figures went back to their crouched prayers after witnessing them eat the hearts of multiple kinds of fish/crustaceans/etc. This is also the fisherman that willingly sells off aberrations of fish to the local fish market to be eaten by regular people in the area, aberrations that range from fish that have mouths lined with like 300 extra teeth, have like 20 extra eyeballs, ARE a giant eyeball, have goo slathered all over them -- a fisherman who faced down a POLAR BEAR/NARWHAL HYBRID THING, a NARWHAL THAT HAD FRONT AND BACK LEGS, COULD LITERALLY WALK ON ICE, and who also, on top of ALLLLL of this, gives no f***s about TELEPORTING from wherever he is back to the Mysterious Man's Manor he's finding weird "powerful objects" for to bring back his dead wife who was lost in a shipwreck. Pretty sure this fisherman gave up on questioning the stuff going on around him a LONG time ago. The minute he washed up at this place and his boat was sunk, he was just in it for the money anymore, man. Everything else? Not his problem. Pay him or present him with opportunities to upgrade his boat and he ain't askin' any questions, man.
The reason why the Leviathan attacks the tentacles tearing at the rig is because the creature is a direct foil to the Lovecraftian horrors that dwell beneath, quite possibly also why everyone is still alive. One of the obelisks even shows you a vision where it is singing at the ancient lighthouse.
@@iiman1c With the new Aberration bait. It's really not worth crafting over and over again so just reload you save until you get a lucky outcome, took me about 15 attempts. Make sure you only have oceanic rods equipped to eliminate as many other fish as possible from the RNG; that'll increase your chances. Also, the bonus 'fish' has a secret description only visible with maxxed out insanity!
I'm currently sick at home due to too much stress at work and in my personal life. So I finally got the time to watch all the hourlong videos I missed the last two weeks. This is so relaxing❤
do two deep breaths ( one on top of the other repeatedly then exhale ) it usually helps to relax your body cause when we go to sleep usually breathe like this..and take it slow 🐌 and stay hydrated 🌱
Gab this is how I keep up with the updates on this game, I have the whole game with all the current dlcs. I love your playthrough!! I also just bought the new dlc, so excited to play!!
Some of the fish they added are Paleozoic. Tully Monster is a really neat one. The anatomy is good but they should have put it in the mangrove area. It is known to be found with plant fossils and lived in brackish waters. (a little nit picky I know but I love Tully Monster.)
I’ve been watching Lindsay Nikole’s “History of Life On Earth (As We Know It)” series along with a lot of her other videos and it’s fun to see names of ancient fish species that I recognize from them in this game lol, if I didn’t watch her stuff I wouldn’t have realized these weird af fish actually existed at one point
Sitting in insanity oil with screaming fish underneath you and slimy beholders splooshing you left and right is definitely the best time to clear your cargo hold :) The huge serpent fish always protects you...unless you try to leave the area ;)
10:59 No, it is NOT pronounced "core" (like "corps" /koɹ/ of French origin). This is an abbreviation for "corporation", the P is not silent. Of course these words have a common origin, but "corps", referring to a military group or body of people, takes an explicit route over French _as a word,_ where it gets its silent ending from, but the abbreviation "corp." is formed necessarily from the word "corporation", where the P is not silent in English OR French.
Yes!! I've been hopeful since a few days before the release. Adored your full playthrough and the Pale Reach. Let me get a big old bowl of coffee and settle in.
Yay! More Dredge!! :D You know I'd watch an entire video of you just finishing up finding all the fish. Seeing all the different aberrations is SO COOL.
100% dredge in 2 days of mostly non stop play was so much fun loved the new fishing mini game except when I was being attacked lol. Loved the new fish and new stuff to do. Absolute blast to come back and play more of this amazing game now I can watch gab play!
Its back! Its BAAAACK!!!! Thank you 🙏 I have a special place in my heart for Dredge (and Dave the Diver, I watched them back to back) and I'm so happy to have more content
I saw paddle fish while scuba diving in a filled quarry -- they're gigantic filter feeders, and it was really cool seeing such giant silent shapes moving through the water.
Yay, thank you so much for playing and posting this DLC! I know this one has gotten some mixed reviews, but I was really pleased by what they created, and like you, I am hopeful for a Dredge 2. I think you had some great ideas for where this game could go!
It would be fun as well if Dredge will have another DLC involving those shipwrecks. Since it already has sea monsters and portals for fast travel, why not stumble upon a time travel thing in the sea or maybe a ghostly phenomenon where you enter a timeline when those shipwrecks were once roaming the oceans with their sails up high and proud looking for treasures beneath the waves and hunting for those big sea monsters. You also get to play as one of those long-forgotten ships.
The inventory management in this game is so cozy and pleasing. Also I love that all the fishing experience we've had across the years (Stardew, Animal Crossing, Dredge) means that I saw the outline of the arapaima and knew exactly what it was XD
Some of the species like Nautilus do still live in the irl world, however Opabinia or Trilobites are hundreds of millions of years past the expiration date
Yep, English is silly sometimes, but it does make sense in a weird way: "Corps" is a word by itself referring to a military organization, pronounced like "core". It isn't an abbreviation for anything. "Corp" is short for "corporation", and pronounced like it reads. "Corp's" (note the apostrophe) is pronounced like "corpse", because it is "corp" + possessive "s". The different pronunciations are because "corps" and "corporation" come from different root words and aren't really related, they just happen to look almost the same in modern English.
@@stephencoakley Of course they are related, both going back to the Latin "corpus" for "body" (-> embodiment, -> body of people) "Corps" just comes more directly from French _as a word,_ where the "ps" is silent. "Corporation" may also possibly have come to English via French peoples, but neither French nor English would have the "p" silent (even if the word itself wasn't completely anglicized)
definitely one of my favorite games ever! love the sound design of it, combined with your chill voice and personality these videos are super fun and relaxing to watch!
I have always looked forward to seeing more of Dredge. It is an excellent mix of cozy, picturesque fishing with just as great of art representing fishy abominations & horrors of the sea. I feel like this DLC really opened up a lot more possibilities for future stories, as it seems like the black ooze might've had a part to play in what happened to the fish (alongside the supernatural qualities present in the main game). It'll be exciting to see if they take these things anywhere, including what happened with the scientist.
Man I was so happy to sit back down for the world’s coolest eldritch fishing game with Cap’n Gab, hehe- I LOVE seeing the deep sea monstrosities! And the music is GREAT (as it always was-)
This is great! So fun to watch. I'd easily watch an extra video with Gab finding the rest of the fish (if she can) and getting the last upgrades etc. Either way, so fun and relaxing. 😁🎶
I actually fell alseep last night to gab playing dredge, so im very happy to see a new upload of it now that i am off work. Sorry to say ill probably fall alseep to it again. Lol im sure ill watch it a few times though ❤
Love the playthroughs, but my curiosity wish you hover over the new fishes and their abberations more so able to read the little text. But also understands when its live that hard to put that time for it hahaha
With the ice one we got a full ending to it but it was a short dlc. This one was long and fun but playing it the ending felt- empty. Like I literally stood around trying to go back to everything because I thought you had to do more. Like the rig would fall apart or there would be a battle or smth 😭 still, sooooo glad we’ve been blessed with another dlc. This was fun to play and watch lol
I finished the DLC before watching this, and it's good to see Gab enjoying this, I think the developers did well! Playthrough wise, I think Gab my have accidentally made things harder by not investing research in all the upgrades and bonuses (the tier 5 benefits from the turbine engines, and the telescope upgrade was a BIG help), but of course we each can play as we choose ;)
Dredge was fantastic but I always felt like there was just one thing missing for me that would have made things just completely perfect. I wanted a transformation. I wanted a man to become so overcome by the aberrations that they’d become a monster more horrific than any fish hunting you in the ocean. Marine corps* has an S, because it's a French word. It's not spelled the same. You're right about pronunciation overall though!
that was really insightful,
thank you for that explanation! I didn't know that
@@x7lillies right, that's what I meant. They stuck the p back into the french cors, for corps.
Indeed 👍
In this instance, the characters are all referring to a Corporation, so the 'P' is spoken.
"Body" in french is "Corp", with a silent P. Not cors.
Yay Dredge is back!! Time to get cozy (and spooky), and enjoy some lovely fishing with Gab :D
My thoughts exactly!

Fisherman: *watches the scientist do /that/.*
Also Fisherman: WELP. Best get those fish sold and the hull patched up.

Fun Fact you can fish for the scientist after he turns in to what ever he turned in to
how?

Seeing that huge ship completely submerged as you dredge up the crates is just soo cool.
Dredge got another DLC? Heck yeah! Time to settle in with a nice drink and watch Gab dredge up some creepy fish. 🐟😸
I'm still thinking about Still Wakes The Deep so a rig being present gives me a lil giggle
I was just about to say!!! Still wakes the deep literally shows why this is a terrible idea XD
I'm currently sick at home due to too much stress at work and in my personal life. So I finally got the time to watch all the hourlong videos I missed the last two weeks. This is so relaxing❤
Get well soon☕🥣

I love that series! I was thinking of that, too! 😃
Same here! Like Opabinia and the Tully Monster!
If you are panicked at night and next to a corp shipwreck, you’ll see a phantom boat above it of what it used to be! It’s so cool
Oof. Those tentacles curling up at the legs of the rig reminded me so much of Still Wakes The Deep, the color's similar, and those eyes...
Sitting in insanity oil with screaming fish underneath you and slimy beholders splooshing you left and right is definitely the best time to clear your cargo hold :)
The huge serpent fish always protects you...unless you try to leave the area ;)
You've been posting ALL my fave play-throughs lately!! First Stardew then Wind Waker and now more Dredge! I'm glued to my screen 😂😂
Popcorn check
Comfy blanket check
Boop boop let's go!!
You made my day! You were the first one to show me Dredge and Dave and I've never missed one of your streams! I love your stuff thanks for being you!

tyvm for additional information
Yesss! Love putting these on in the background while I work, and then restarting the video over and over until I can actually follow along 😂
Love Dredge! May have to start a marathon of your videos now that the spark has been reignited 😁
36:56 that was such a guttural "woah" 😂😂😂
Love how the first thing Gab does is toot the fog horn!
Imagine if this DLC had a Still Wakes The Deep connection to it
Yes!! I've been hopeful since a few days before the release. Adored your full playthrough and the Pale Reach. Let me get a big old bowl of coffee and settle in.
“How do I do things?” I ask myself the same thing multiple times a day Gab!
Yay! More Dredge!! :D
You know I'd watch an entire video of you just finishing up finding all the fish. Seeing all the different aberrations is SO COOL.
Wait! Drilling in the middle of the Ocean? Weird creatures? It's the South Park BP Oil Spill episode! IA IA CTHULHU FTAHGN!

Wow I didn't think we'd get another Dredge content again but this is very much welcomed on a nice relaxing Sunday! 🙏🏻

1:10:59 Ok the "Tai one" (Taiwan) cracked me up 😂
So happy to see Dredge back on the channel!
"oh yeah, still no research parts" i'm sure chat was screaming at her to check the travelling merchants and the undermarket....
Just a heads up, if it’s military then corp is core, if it is a corporation then corp is corp
Exactly, thank you!

The Executive acts like Rennick from Still Wakes the Deep
Hope we get Dredge movie, Haven't see boat movie in long time and also been in while;Keep up awesome and amazing job Gab 👍
Sooo happy to see more of these game!! Def one of my top faves on ur channel 💘
Dredge and Chillas Art remake? in 1 WEEK? NOWAY
Thanks for playing the DLC! Loved the original play through, now really enjoying DLCs. Hope they make some more or Dredge 2
Absolutely love watching Dredge on this channel, and the content is even more amazing every DLC 😱
Missed this game so much!

omg dredge was actually what made me subscribe to you! so happy there's a DLC now :DDD
23:50 an el dorado reference?? in MY 2024??? 😭❤️🙌

Just saw there's an updated "remake" of The Bathhouse by Chilla's. It looks good.
I'm so happy Gab is playing more Dredge! 😁🥳
Man I was so happy to sit back down for the world’s coolest eldritch fishing game with Cap’n Gab, hehe- I LOVE seeing the deep sea monstrosities! And the music is GREAT (as it always was-)
Such a simple but charming game.
The Collector is my fav character, his lore is so cool
It’s dredging time! Feels like it’s been forever!
Love Dredge. It’s perfect timing too because i got the Rona again. Last time i had Rona was a year ago and you were playing Dredge then as well.
More Dredge!!!! Hell yeah!
This is great! So fun to watch. I'd easily watch an extra video with Gab finding the rest of the fish (if she can) and getting the last upgrades etc. Either way, so fun and relaxing. 😁🎶
YES
a dlc??? hell yeah, i didnt remember it would get a dlc! this is gonna be a nice afternoon :D
Oooooooo I had no idea there was dlc coming out...very much looking forward to watching this later!
gonna enjoy dinner and watch this, perfect timing
This is such a cool game, I love watching you play while I work on a craft. Here's hoping for Dredge 2 someday!
I never noticed you can see the lights turn on and off in the science lab lol
I actually fell alseep last night to gab playing dredge, so im very happy to see a new upload of it now that i am off work. Sorry to say ill probably fall alseep to it again. Lol im sure ill watch it a few times though ❤
1:45:00 "I thought it was BB but Sean sneezed" that's adorable
47:56 HELP WHY DID CONTAMINATANTS MAKE ME LAUGH SO HARD
Oh man, I've missed some Dredge!
Wait what? More Dredge DLC? no way
Nice to see more Dredge.
This DLC is so cool! Loved it Xx !!
Love the playthroughs, but my curiosity wish you hover over the new fishes and their abberations more so able to read the little text. But also understands when its live that hard to put that time for it hahaha
1:27:16 OMG I wheezed so hard , after Gooby said "I have one box yes" , I said "What about second box" in sync with her.
I just grabbed the base game! Perfect timing!
I squealed for joy I LOVE THIS GAME SO MUCH.
Sad to see Gab does not utilize the spyglass that much! It is amazing! Let you see fishes from afar and this DLC upgraded it with a marker function!
oh my Goobness!! Yess, first thought of seeing Dredge trailer was Gabs!!! ❤
I bought this game today after watching your video, I never thought i would get into it, but its pretty fun.
How can this game be simultaneously unsettling and calming?😂
2:41:34 Sooo, no other npc is gonna talk about what just happened??
My thoughts exactly
As a massive lotr fan I deeply appreciate all your references.
DLC WHOOOOOOOO
I call the ship monster "Frank" cuz he reminded me of Frank from the pixar film cars
Is it just me, or is there a surge of games recently involving oil rigs and deep sea searching?
With the ice one we got a full ending to it but it was a short dlc. This one was long and fun but playing it the ending felt- empty. Like I literally stood around trying to go back to everything because I thought you had to do more. Like the rig would fall apart or there would be a battle or smth 😭 still, sooooo glad we’ve been blessed with another dlc. This was fun to play and watch lol
“My honk has doubled since the last time we met.”
“Good. Twice the honk, double the crack.”
Dredge....and Zelda Gannon-Gloom-Hands. The ultimate game crossover. :)
(Had the same thought when first seeing them)
I finished the DLC before watching this, and it's good to see Gab enjoying this, I think the developers did well! Playthrough wise, I think Gab my have accidentally made things harder by not investing research in all the upgrades and bonuses (the tier 5 benefits from the turbine engines, and the telescope upgrade was a BIG help), but of course we each can play as we choose ;)
YESSSS I WAS REFRESHING ALL AFTERNOOON❤
So happy! So excited!
8:10
she said the thing!
there's a new redone version of the chilla's bath house game with a new story

I wanted a man to become so overcome by the aberrations that they’d become a monster more horrific than any fish hunting you in the ocean.
