- Over the lockdown period Pat took on The Man Challenge which is a 30 day challenge created by the people at Man Shake - whose goal is to loose the beer gut without loosing all the beers! Sounds good right! This challenge included switching out one to two meals a day with protein shakes, a minimum of 10 minutes of exercise each day and daily step goals. After 30 days we were stoked with Pats results!

Amazing! I went from 225lbs (102kg) to 170lbs (77.11kg) within a year by counting calories. I still ate whatever I wanted even burgers and pizza and still lost the weight.
Yeah I went from 240 to 165 in like 9 months, probably not healthy but I have better control over my body so eh
Diabetes for you.
@@awesomesauce3110 tastes delicious 😋
It's been one week and I lost 15 pounds. 😁👍 I want fast results, I don't wanna wait a year.😂
Pat you absolutely crushed it mate! Good to see you smashing into it.
I’m a woman in my 30s, who is pretty active and on largely healthy and unprocessed diet (plenty of fiber from vegetables, quality fats from olive and coconut oils, fish, lean meat and whole grains like pui lentils and wild rice - I’d say it’s on the low carb side but not an extreme).
I‘ve been trying this out since the 2nd of Feb, in an attempt to shed some weight I’ve put on after I’ve quit smoking and leg injury last year, which prevented me from running for many months during lock downs. I should mention that I have been known to have a sluggish metabolism, but no health issues other than mild chronic kidney disease.
Results so far are wildly encouraging:
Starting weight: 74.3kg
Current weight: 72.6 kg
Disclaimers:
1) NUTRITION: I’ve lived off 3 protein shakes a day. I use low sugar whey isolate (1g of carbs per scoop), take magnesium, calcium, omega 3, collagen, coenzyme Q10 and multivitamin supplements, to prevent malnutrition and sports injuries during this challenge. I also add some Himalayan salt to my shakes, to help replace sodium lost during exercise. I consider adding fibre supplement to it from next week.
2) EXERCISE. I’m completing HIIT Max challenge available on RUclips by Body Rock, which I’d recommend for anyone who is not new to exercise and is craving a personal trainer experience without a massive spend. You will find easier challenges also by them if you’re new to this form of intense effort, along with advice on correct form to prevent injuries. I do this in the gym daily, near my feeding window of 6-8 hours.
3) RESULTS: I have an advanced electronic body composition scales which showed 0.3% decrease in fat mass, 0.3% increase in muscle mass and, interestingly, an improved water weight composition by 2%. So I seem to be shedding fat and while keeping myself hydrated, which is great news!
I will post weekly updates for the next 8 weeks, after which time I will replace one shake with a healthy salad with some seafood or another rich source of protein, and after a month, I’ll replace the 2nd shake with healthy dinner (lean meat/fish + steamed green veg in low carb dressing). Carbs will be added last and I expect to regain some of the water weight once this happens, but this shouldn’t lead to increase in fat mass.
Hopefully I’ll manage to keep all the lost weight with this approach.
If you’ve already tried this and have suggestions to improve my approach, please feel free to comment :)
Sounds amazing Stella, you seem to have planned it out really well, best of luck!!!
It says clearly, do not have 3 shakes a day. So confused as to why your doing that
Results?
@@nolungesplease2945 went down to 68 kg and maintained it eating varied healthy diet within my caloric maintenance. Taking month long breaks resets your body and furthers weight loss compared to just restricting long term
Stumbled on this, good to see Aussie videos, I'm from Brissy doing replacement meals as an experiment. Thanks for the upload, subbed too👍🏾
Thanks Paul, best of luck with the shakes!
Thanks for taking us on this journey with you, top effort.
Outstanding work mate, love your motivation and passion.
Starting my challenge today at 89.3 kg. Aiming to be down to below 85 kg by end of January 2023.
Keep us updated. Im starting mine tomorrow.
results?
And what's the verdict?
@@muchomalo100 for my own, I did 5 days and went down 4lbs
How was it
There are many meal replacement powders out there you all. You CAN turn protein powders (no matter the quality, its all a sales ) and add fruits/veges for a more well balanced meal replacement shake. The point is to reduce your tangible food contact sonyou arent overwhelmed by eating (which is the cause for many obese persons) and you simply choose one meal to deal with as mainly food. The only issue is if you dont learn to change your diet overtime to be with shakes and off shakes every now and then. Other than that, any meal repalcement does the job. Choose what helps your budget, not what makes it harder
Im at same weight as you. Ill be starting aswell LFG!
doing this for my December (cheat day on Christmas and new years of course 😂) except doing the lady shake cause… I’m a lady. hoping to lose 12kg by my anniversary in March
Hope you smash it
Nice work mate! Killing it!
I want to give it a go but I'm afraid of what it will taste like everytime I make a protein shake I'm literally gagging the whole way down... *That's what she said*
Same they always taste so bad 😭 I’m determined this time though
Don't buy protein powder if you don't like the taste of it, if you build a bad relationship with it your not likely to stick to it. Find flavors that you like, its worth the time and money
Turns out man shake is actually good! They have some sort of thickener that makes the texture and consistency taste like an actual shake. Where as other products taste like water with flavoured powder.
Did you keep it off?
Nice jump rope skills!
Thanks!
That’s a good idea ! Great Video !
Well done 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
Hey I just your video I’m going to start my 30 day challenge you look good 😁
Best off luck!
just curious my brother 30 day meal replacement, does that mean you were just having the man shake for every meal instead of food? Great effort on the weight loss
I choose to replace 2 of the 3 .ain meals each day, I don't believe they recommend going straight to all meals.
What was the app could if you don't mind saying please
Great video report.
I have been looking around but they are all so expensive
I'm in the consideration of getting into the man shakes but one question ive had are they actually filling?
yeah, they are and you can have a small snack if you need too
Yep, I agree with Joel, they are filling but at the start a snack like a protein bar or peice of fruit iss helpful
Saints forever
This was awesome good job were did you go hope to see you back soon! new subscriber 😊 also can women do this ?
Hey Shannon thanks for the sub, we have been on hiatus but plans to come back in 2022. I believe the y have a "lady shake" as well now. To be honest though I don't know the difference haha!
Are you selling in USA yet?
Somebody get this man a Man Shake sponsorship
Very much willing to sell out :P
@@mcpheebrothers9390 Hey mate, aren't you taking the man shake anymore? I was hoping you'd do more vdeos etc also. I just ordered a month's supply of the man shake and also 3 weeks supply of "Iso Whey" meal replacement / shake. (I think the brand is Blackmores)
Well done.
what is the app u use that keeps track of the challenge
Hi David, Man Shake sent me a link to a website where I was able to track progress for the month, the website was a bit outdated but has everything I needed
how long does it take you to walk 10k steps?
10k would probably take 90-100 minutes
Man you love that bottle
You should see me get to the last few drops ;)
Awesome vid bro
I'm currently 15 days in bro see how we go
Hope you finished strong brother!

You should try Shanga - it's a good meal replacement shake
I just bought a banana one will get a chocolate one soon
Wat times did u eat
I haven't been specific a part from routines based around work, what works for you?
@@mcpheebrothers9390 like 7 but I feel like it would be easier if I was less specific cuz 7 is hard
way better with ice cold water mate!
Shakes are great, but, at least one solid meal is needed a day. Of only to give your teeth something to chew so they dont naturally fall out.
Great effort
Here is the thing. They taste like shit. I'm giving it a crack and just started but my God they are awful which makes me mighty suspicious of the videos where they say they taste great.
It depends between each person. When I had to start taking a supplement that my surgeon told me to be on, it tasted crap, by the 3rd week, the horrible after-taste was gone and it was OK.
For me all the shakes from any company all tasted crap, as time goes on your tastebuds change and it becomes more palatable.
If you have come from a high sugar, esp a lot of softdrinks. It would be a major reason why, your sweetness tastebuds are broken and need resetting.
I bought one of those variety packs with 2xeach flavour. You’re right, they’re basically all shit. I found the chocolate one passable
Am I the only one who needs to go to the ear doctor now? If you know you know
