    You know around the time that Kemper released the floor unit, I posted asking if something like this would ever be released. And I had two Kemper product engineers rip me a new one and tell me in no uncertain terms "No. The technology does not work that way. Besides, there is no demand for a device without profiling capability. It will NEVER happen." Huh.

    If I want to use my analog delay and reverb pedals, how do I use these with the player? I assume you just put them AFTER the Kemper - but the Kemper has balanced L&R out and would be going into pedals wanting to see unbalanced TS cables? Also putting them after the Kemper would then require a DI box right to pull an XLR at the end of the chain to FOH/recorder.

    If you look at the footswitches you see two green LEDs like the Stage or Remote, they must be there for Morphing.
    So it must be coming in an update.

    Great review! I would like to know how the Kemper Player handles profiles like the Tone Wars ones, originally created for the big units. Is there some kind of "translation" from the original profiles, if they use more effect slot than the 2 pre and post rig that the Kemper Player have? Thanks a lot!

      Good question. You definitely have to trim down the effects for this pedal. This pedal is mainly just a travel rig type setup. You always have to make sacrifices when you go down in size. I hope this helps.

    When I saw So Far So Good in the thumbnail I was thinking MEGADETH RIFFS! Love your vids! Did you ever get into any MEGADETH songs or riffs?

      Thanks for commenting. Yeah I'll have to try to get into some more of their riffs in the near future. They definitely have some amazing music

    So the pedal can Be setup with 1 amp per switch and 2 effects each like chorus and reverb on button one and delay and reverb on the others?

    Also is there any Gap when switching presets

    • @TONEWARSgearshow
      @TONEWARSgearshow  10 месяцев назад +3

      No Gap at all. Switching presets is perfectly seamless. And you get the awesome spillover from the delay and Reverb to go along with it

    OK, simple question. After returning to tube amps and running the gauntlet with every modeler out there, I’m now considering this simply as a B/fly out rig. I want to step on three pedals. Clean crunch and lead. Am I going to be as happy with it as using a 100 W EVH with a 4x12? No, of course I’m not. However, for quick set up and dialing in few killer tones and send to FOH; Is this going to work. Yes or no. Thanks!

    Better product than tonex imo. Yeah yeah minute differences in null tests...
    Kemper player having effects in addition makes it far more complete

    Sonically, it should be just like having a Kemper without the ability to profile (...limited outputs, etc..).

    So they don’t use performance modes on this? Just presets but they are seamless like performance mode? Thanks Jarrod!

    • @TONEWARSgearshow
      @TONEWARSgearshow  10 месяцев назад

      There's not really a performance mode on this unit per se.. You just assign anything you want to each pedal. In this case I just assigned each pedal to choose a new preset

    • @TONEWARSgearshow
      @TONEWARSgearshow  10 месяцев назад +1

      Thanks for asking. I plan on doing those very soon. I just hope the Kemper algorithm can profile these properly. I've been having issues with other amplifiers regarding profiling them on the kemper lately

  • @khall187

    Too little too late from Kemper (for me). I had the Stage but ended up going QC and it's SO much more usable. Happy for Kemper but until they work on their UX and ease of use, I don't see myself switching from QC anytime soon.

    • @guitartoneSA
      @guitartoneSA 10 месяцев назад

      The QC will never have Kemper Performance mode or the Definition control.

  • @runxzze123

    Sounds really good but it still does not sound like a real amp. Would be cool to put this against a comparable amp and cab.

    • @WholeLottaBulldog
      @WholeLottaBulldog 10 месяцев назад

      It sounds close enough to a real amp for it not to matter. Some argue the touch of compression the Kemper adds makes it preferable to an amp.

    Hey man, totally unrelated question to your video so my apologies. Do you think a Mesa dual rectifier sounds the same as a 5150? I'll rephrase... do you think it's DUMB to suggest a dual rectifier sounds the same as a 5150? Curious :) :)

    For 300 bucks more is it that much better than the tonex?

    • @mikec8815
      @mikec8815 10 месяцев назад +3

      Im not gonna debate if the amps sound better on one or another but I have both and if I had to sell one it would be Tonex. To me the FX in Kemper are worth the $300 extra.

    • @derekellerbe4251
      @derekellerbe4251 10 месяцев назад +1

      With the tonex you just get an amp. If you think about it you’ll have to buy effects for the tonex so you may find yourself spending the same or more to have what you need. The player is not marketed to compete with the tonex because it has more to it. For instance putting the tonex with an hx effects you’d still spend more. Besides kemper has been used on countless albums and is still widely used in many professional studios and $700 is a pretty big drop from $1600 for the stage.

      For a somewhat similar price, I really lean towards ToneX + Helix FX with tons of foot switches, scribble scripts, etc.. This is how Jerrod runs his ToneX and sounds great to me and also, unlike this new kemper, ToneX is able to make superb captures in case I ever want to go that direction. Different strokes for different folks - that's all...
