Hey! Thanks man! Thats awesome to hear! Definitely had a great time in Tokyo! And now I got back to Europe and will be here for a while! Happy holidays, man!
i freaking love your channel dude i live from my apt to akihabara around 22mins or less so i go there couple days a week checking things out have fun dude and keep the great work your doing
Hi Adam, Wishing you and your love ones a Merry Christmas. Always a pleasure to see your works and keep up the excellent work you provide for the community bro. 8^) Anthony...
Those Neo Geo prices aren't getting which doesn't surprise me. It's fun to see how expensive these games keep getting. At some point in our life time we can only hope the bubble will bust for retro games prices so things can go back to be affordable. My favorite pick you grabbed this week is Super Mario Land for GB. I have a loose copy and such a great game you can sit down and complete in less than an hour. It's very nostalgic for me as well. As always thanks for the video,.
Yea I agree, man! Its super interesting seeing the NEO-GEO prices. I wonder if someone will actually buy that Blazing Star? I guess it will eventually move. So crazy! And yea, the popularity has to decline at some point. These stores need to move their games in order to retain the business. Awesome! Yea Im happy to have a nice copy of Mario Land 1 now. Such a huge early important title for the GameBoy. Thank you for watching and always leaving great comments :D
Hey mate missed your video didnt show up like normal 🤦♂️ merry Christmas and happy new gaming year great video gaming now is massive and i found out in when i was there in oct it was expensive went out in the sticks and found better deals 😊
Hey Wicket! Yea I noticed this video didnt get as popular. Merry Christmas and Happy new year to you too :D Yep, always better to go outside the city area for better deals. But fun to look around in Akihabara and explore a bit!
@@RetroMoments hey mate thought of doing a video on the switch? As there are rumours of a switch 2 Pro? Is it a good time now to buy one as its now 7+ years old does it make it retro 🤣👍
Yea I have Switch videos in my notes since forever. I do like the Switch but I never did a video of it. I feel like most people want to see retro stuff on my channel. But maybe one day I will switch it up... see what I did there ;) And I agree, very good idea to buy Switch games now. Some of them are extremely cheap :D We will know more of Switch 2 soon I think!
Honestly these videos are the reason that retro game hunting is almost too expensive thank god i have all my sfc, saturn dreamcast stuff already. As someone who lives in Osaka especially after corona the stores had entire shelves picked bare and the prices for even trash games was retarded. Without all these game hunt videos i doubt it would be like this. Sad to say but they are destroying game collecting here people know they can just load up and then put the stuff on ebay or do what that kid shoryuken does and just keep shipping box load after bix load out of the country. Its an ever dwindling supply of stock so yeah, way to go content creators.
Its not only the videos causing this. There are many different outlets and retro game collecting is basically at its peak now. Never been this popular and if you check KidShoryukens views for example, he doesnt get that much compared to how many people actually visit Japan and buy games. Its bigger than that. Japan's tourism has been rising overall and Akihabara has been a classic tourist spot for many years. And its also a different story if you buy a few games for your own collection or shipping out big boxes every month to people...
@MerlinTheWizard69 Well, youre still here watching them, right? xD Also, the inventory always changes so yes, we need new videos of these stores every once in a while! :)
Thanks man! Glad I found something. Oh right, I remember that. Lay Section II is the same game. Yea 1000 yen for such a great PS1 game is a must! Yea Curtis is fun to have around. He is not deep into the retro collecting but definitely getting there!
Thank you so much, man! Really appreciate you saying that! Many more great videos coming soon, I can promise that! My intro-song is made by Extan called "Like Every Morning".
A couple trader that had next to nothing and that underground shop can't remember the name. Ah yes and that hardoff, but all they had was junk. That was in 2018.@@RetroMoments
@@adilator Ah gotcha! Trader is always expensive. The underground shop is probably BEEP! I visited both of those in the previous Akihabara videos if you wanna check it out!
Can you find deals in Akihabara? Of course, but just like this video, it's not common. I just went earlier this month, and the only store in Akihabra (out of Surugaya, Super Potato, Retro Game Camp, Mandarake, Friends, Beep!, and Trader) that I found several great deals was in Trader. Picked up a few high end rare Saturn games that while was not cheap, was still 30-50% off the average market rate at the moment, which I considered a huge win.
Thats the one, William! Oh wow, and Trader. I wouldnt have expected that. I assume the condition of those Saturn games were really good too. 30-50% is crazy good. I would've picked it up too probably!
Hi Nicky! Yes, and this year 2023 many expensive NEO-GEO AES games increased in price like Garou and Metal Slug 2! Nice! I am in Europe now! Next year going back to Japan again!
@@RetroMoments Hi, enjoy this period. I don’t know for Japan next year maybe it’s depends from my job, I’ve reached the superior post and now I have less time because my training period is very long. Wait and see ✌️.
hi someone offered me Chrono trigger in acceptable condition for 27€ in box with everyhring (JP import) is that overpriced, i live in Germany...can u tell me if i should do it
great video! but isn’t the title a little bit of a clickbait? in your opinion, is it a tourist trap or not? the video never answer the question clearly.
Thanks Rafaelle! The title of the video is made to start a discussion. I usually do that, because it makes people give opinions about things. And thats kind of the purpose for my videos sometimes. Im not the one to decide. We as a community decides!
@@RetroMoments Hey man! Love the channel, and Japan! I have actually sold a lot of my stuff, but it’s painful to know that everyone knows what they have, now… so hard to get a deal…
Thanks man! Really appriciate it! Oh, how come you sold a lot of your stuff? Oh yea, its getting so hard to find deals nowadays. Lets see how long this will still be possible to do...
@@RetroMoments I just didn’t get a lot of fulfillment from having them. Haha, but I did consolidate a lot of my collection with emulators like the snes mini and Famicom mini.
All of the inventory is sitting in Italian's micro apartments hoping to squeeze out a measly 500-1000yen
Wouldnt be surprised about that!
This is exactly what i do every time i visit Japan, crazy what they have there laying around in their stores
Oh yea, so much fun! And you can spend hours looking for games and still not be done xD
Great video man! I took a short break from RUclips and this was really nice to come back to ^_^ Hope you had a great time in Tokyo and Happy holidays!

Anthony...
Hey Anthony! Glad to see you pop in here! Merry Christmas to you and your family as well. Big things coming in 2024 for the channel. Stay tuned :D
Oh man, Tokyo is the place for retro gaming. Cheers and rock on!
It definitely is! Just walking around Akihabara is amazing! Cheers man! Glad to see you back in the comments!
Happy Holiday, dude!
Happy holdays and Merry Christmas, Vincent!
In November I bought Super Mario Land for more than 4000 yen.... and the box is a little damaged
Yea, and I've seen it for 6000 yen behind the showcase! So I snagged it immediately when I saw it. Deals are still out there. Just way harder to find.
I seen a customer place his money on a little counting platen for the cashier to count...do you do this every where in Japan??
Correct!
Love Japan
What about Sega Master System?
Console & Game prices and availability?
Its getting hard finding Master System consoles and games actually. Same with Mega Drive! But I should try to find some MS games in future videos!
I visited Super Potato in 2013, I have a picture of me with that exact Mario statue lol
Awesome! I bet the prices where really good at this place in 2013!
@@RetroMoments I only got a couple of games, regret not buying a console! :D
Deals are out there just getting harder to find...👍👍
Exactly my words, man!
I’ve not seen one for years , what’s the going rate for metal slug 1 on AES ?
MS1 on the AES, Japanese version sold for 70,000 usd like a year ago I think. Nuts.
@@RetroMoments crazy 😱
It really is! Even more crazy is, that there are people who actually paid that xD

Can u make a video about the 3ds in japan planning on going to japan
I do have a 3DS myself, so its a great idea! Thanks!

Can you play japan language? 😮😮
Many Japanese games have English in the menu’s. And some games have English dialogue and Japanese subtitles!
