    First of all, I want to say thank you very much for sharing this incredible knowledge. Since yesterday, I have been trying to follow every step that was taught, and here on the monthly analysis sheet, I found an error when calculating the total budget. It was returning text values, so I couldn't calculate. Then I made a slight modification using the SUBSTITUTE formula, so it became like this (cell W34) --> `=IFERROR(SUM(ARRAYFORMULA(VALUE(SUBSTITUTE(W31:W42, "Rp", "")))), "")`.

    This is incredibly educational; I learned a lot. I feel the closest I've ever been to my ideal custom budget tracker. Thank you for all your efforts and thorough breakdowns! A few questions I've been pondering:
    1) What if your planned income varies from month to month? If you're changing the amounts in the Set-Up tab, wouldn't that change the numbers for all months retrospectively? Then comparing the actuals would be "out of context" beyond the current month(/months those amounts in Set-Up apply to), right?
    2) What's the best way to track debt with this system? So far, I've made a couple of accounts with negative starting balances and used the transfer transaction form to pay them down, but what's a good way to monitor the status of these accounts on the monthly analysis page for instance?
    3) Is there a way to incorporate sinking funds as a part of tracking savings? I know these essentially function as additional accounts, but how can we track their balances, progress to target amounts, and monthly contributions while intermittently using them to pay expenses?
    I'd love to see any of your ideas!

      I think the 'Budget Plan Setup' portion of this video ( ruclips.net/video/eKyAOjH3Crk/видео.html&t ) has a potential solution to the first question. However, it's in Excel. Then it's a matter of how to reference the correct budget column for the dynamic monthly analysis sheet... maybe around 01:58:40 (for the dropdowns) & 02:49:40 (for the formulas) of that video.

    Your work seems top notch and your willingness to continually improve it is impressive. I only have a limited high-level perspective of creating formulas to do things. A couple of questions if you don't mind. Can this be used (or modified) for excel? And is there a way to see how your current month is doing versus the previous month and the current month versus the same month a year ago, such as Last Month, Current Month, Current Month Last Year? Side by side in a vertical bar chart or similar?
    Thank You for your time!

      Hey! Thanks so much for your comment. Yes you could download the tracker to Excel but this would need lots of modifications as several formulas such as GOOGLEFINANCE will need to be replaced with Excel's stock and currency fetcher feature. This is a great idea for month against month in the previous year etc. The closest thing to this is the tables and charts in the 'Dashboard' tab for the Year-On-Year Analysis section. I'll definitely include these features and expand on them in the next tracker, hopefully I'll have time to work on it very soon. Cheers!

    Hey! Excellent work! I Just want to know... i live in Peru and we have the PEN currency. But sometimes we get charged in dollars... how do you manage this on the tracker? Also, when you use your credit card to pay everything, and then you use your savings/checkings acount to pay the credit card debt, how do you register that to not have inconsistencies in the accounts values.?

    Fantastic tool! I've spend over 2 days making my own and I love it. May I ask how to increase the number of accounts without completely messing up the written formulas? I've tried with a 16th account but It just ruins the whole thing.. Maybe a tips on where to edit?

    I think it's awesome. Would love to be able to alter the monthly budget every now and then (e.g. realised overspending on groceries, or perhaps had a baby and bills have gone up etc)
    and or salaries (e.g. job change) without it recalculating the whole sheet. Maybe that could be in the 4G for next year?

      @@PlanetFinanceOfficial You;re welcome :) I wondered if you could merge the budget table and the month table in the Enter Info tab, maybe making the months, year and "All" information in rows instead of a column, allowing each month to have its own budget? I'm nowhere near as competent with Sheets/Excel though!

    Love it this is exactly what i was waiting for all these months, i have one small issue though its constantly loading after any adjustment or upload. think it has to do with the link to google exchange rates. is there a way to skip that part as we are already saying we changed x curencie for Y so the rate isnt nrealy necesary. Also in my country the rate changes daily so there wil be a big difference? Thumbs up man

    • @PlanetFinanceOfficial
      @PlanetFinanceOfficial  Год назад

      Hey! Thanks so much for your comment, glad you've liked the tracker. The currency exchange formulas have a condition to exchange it as of the date it was entered. This way, currency fluctuations won't affect the amounts you've been entering. Does this help solve your issue?

    Hi Planet Finance, this is yet another amazing video of yours, after seeing your Stocks/Crypto/ETF Portfolio tracker video. I had a question though, most stocks and mutual funds are available on google finance, but then sometimes some countries issue gold bonds, govt bonds, etc whose tickers are not available online. How do we track those in our portfolio... because my account value shows completely different coz I have invested in those instruments too

    This is excellent.
    Few suggestion and possibilities. In my existing sheet (manual entries), i denote different type of account with different color so that i can easily see say green color and understand that this is from account A, and red are from account B. Is it something which is possible to automate in future?
    Is it possible to remove currency option all together as I have only 1 currency to work with.
    Other than that this looks amazing and I will try to follow this guide and make something of my own..

    • @PlanetFinanceOfficial
      @PlanetFinanceOfficial  Год назад +2

      Hey! Thanks so much for your comment, really appreciate the feedback and suggestions. I think something could be done with the conditional formatting rules. If you look at the existing ones, it's mainly driven by whether it's blank or not. You could edit these rules to change a colour based on the type of account being entered.
      For the currency conversion, I've decided to release it this way as there are many customers who use it with multiple currencies. However, I do understand it adds complexity and heaviness to the tracker so I will definitely include an alternative tracker in the next version where only a single currency is used. Cheers!

      @@PlanetFinanceOfficial Hey, While I was using this, I found one issue in the analysis calculation. We are showing a Total Start Balance but Credit Card account balance is actually a negative balance because we have to pay the dues at later time but we are still adding that and that gives the wrong impression that we hv more money than in reality. Also the payment for credit card will be made as a transfer entry right? I hope it makes sense..
