Holy cow my jaw hit the floor when he passed the verdant catacombs and took the pest infestation. There has been a shift in the universe.
@@Atom1c1141 i thought it was an easy bowmasters...
He's losing his touch, I've seen him not pick reprieve when he's on color a couple drafts ago too. Might be an imposter too!
Is there a universe where he goes down on fetches for more card power
I think you had a shot in that last game. Not a big one, since you are leaving a bonehoard in play, but I believe you can kill the larcenist from metamorph with pest infestation (for x=3 if you play cradle), get arwen back, and then they can only do 7 in the air and 2 from chandra. You also get to drop Thalia. You take them off quite a bit of mana from killing their two artifacts and landing Thalia so their bonehoard isn't as insane.
You take 7 in the air and maybe 2 from chandra, but that leaves you at 1 and with another turn to draw parallax wave, in which case you have a good shot at winning. Also, if they do attack with bonehoard, then you potentially get to crack back with 5 lifelink and some amount of pests, so there are non-parallax wave draws that get you back in it.
Is it likely to work? Well, no, but I think it was technically possible. You can sac grove and OUAT on your next turn to dig for something that gets you out of it (we only see one more card than what you saw, but it might have been wave).
21:21 really demonstrating the power of the wave. From close to conceding to literally just winning the game the next turn.
and then winning the next game too! (not that he needed it since opp was clocked out)
No love for lurrus? You only would have had to cut titania, parallax wave, omnath, chariot, leovold, ramunap, arwen, knight
Clear oversight. The juice was worth the squeeze!
LSV in this draft: "Parallax Wave is like the white Fire Covenant. If you have one removal spell in your deck and you use that to kill all their creatures." Proceeds to insta win out of nowhere while hellbent on a bad board.
Wave is so good. I frequently see it around 5th or 6th pick and snatch it up, really undervalued.
18:45 Arwen doesn't have protection. She has indestructible. Stomp doesn't do anything.
@@jairomysure seems like "can't be destroyed by damage" would save her
@@jairomy Nothing was ever preventing damage to begin with. You can literally see the damage marked on her in the video.🙄
Indestructible prevents marked damage from destroying her.
@@jairomy common mistake, this is how i thought stomp worked before too, because i thought indestructible just stopped damage from being dealt to it
@@jairomy Indestructible isn't preventing damage, you saw the red mark with a 3 on it from blocking she took the damage. Indestructible just says she doesn't die because of it
1:12:42 A possible line would have been to Pest Infestation the Metamorph, get back Arwen, make the token indestructible, lifelink for 3.
enjoying watching these while eating lunch, thanks for all the uploads!
This pod was wild, some of those late wheels looked so irresponsible. Guide of souls coming around like 45th pick, late sneak pack two etc
Wow, getting closer. I'm sure the next video you will make it back over the hump....routing for ya
love to see the variety of decks you have been creating! I feel like 6 months ago all I saw was artifacts but now I don't know what i'm going to see!
In g3 of the last round is generous plunderer really better than endurance when they have like 7 fliers?
5 picks on and I'm already hoping to see the infinite combo that had been missed so many moons ago!
Dang, the sneak deck would have been nuts
Risen reef works with titania elementals, no?

hey luis enjoyed the vid as always. i saw that dominaria united flashback is up on arena, any chance you do one of those, i recall fun domain decks in that format. cheers
I would love this! Seconded
A dip into an older draft format or two with lsv would be a blast
Parallax Wave was the MVP
Secret reach strikes again
Classic online shenanigans, build green domain and get paired against basically the same deck
pack 2 pick 7, how bad is relic of sauron in green/domain decks? feels like it could be nice
You don’t really need them for the same reason you don’t need Coalition Relic
Passing that Sneak so early in pack 2 for Ramunap hurt my soul. And then Emrakul shows up...
Land decks are also really good too. Sneak gets boring
Xanders Lounge over Worldspine Worm rely depressed me as well. Had he taken the Worm, Sneak would've been the pick, followed up by either Emrakul or Griselbrand. I would've probably taken the Emrakul and hoped for a Channel or breach as well. Worm is one of the best fatties to cheat out with Sneak, and given that he started with a ramp strategy based on Cradle, it's not that difficult to hardcast.
@@Reinhardt_Kozlowski lmao that is a fucking terrible line given the info to that point for anyone other than someone capable of predicting the future
@@tsutter It makes way more sense to spec on a potential high-reward card when the "objective" best option is a tapland. Picking a bomb like Wurm early on pretty much probabilistically guarantees you'll find at least one way to cheat it out in the next 2 packs: Sneak attack, Breach, Flash, Natural Order, Show and Tell. I would not make that decision in pack 3, but would do it 100% of the time pack 1. I'm not saying it's an amazing line put ffs why pick a tapland. LSV always has A+ manabases yet has been getting absolutely hosed with his "stay open, stay safe, maximize colors, do mid things" strategy.
@@tsutterdon’t bother. This guy always has terrible takes. Kinda like you and lurrus!😅
The disrespect for Mind Twist 😢
Lsv could lose to it 12 times in a row and still pass it for a taiga.
I think it's his most underrated card. It's good in any black deck, especially if you have ramp.
@@Mindscape6 dude it’s good in a green deck with ramp when you draft 14 lands -_-
@@Seldomheardaboutwhat if he doesn’t lose to it?
@@giancarlocafaro6734 dude, do you want to suck on lsv? Let him fight his own battles because you are insulting him by speaking on his behalf.
Wave is so good
Loving how short all there new cube videos are, can knock 10 dow in an hour! =D
11:30, does that work? i thought tokens were only the face up side and couldn't actually transform
You make a copy of Ajani and sac the copy to the legend rule. It’s a cat so the og Ajani flips
@@Jidehem1993 right but then the nantuko falls off. is that the point?
@@fpejanovic It falls off and becomes a 1/1 which is still a good card!
As much as you talk up the rabbit you never take it.
Mardu Mind Twist
i might have taken the kitten over razorverge knowing i have the mox and a 3rd pack to find teferi. ended up showing up
Looked like a great reanimator deck was being passed around.
parallax wave was in my 2nd or 3rd ptq top 8 sealed :) 3 color monstrosity but format was slow enough that the grinding just got there
1 hour 14 minutes? There’s a chance.
24 minutes of that was one opponent, playing... very... slowly...
Sawayn Island
Vero nice
People on modo are either good bad or too high to finish a game
Taylor John Martin Jennifer Young Steven
The fact first game opponent didn't activate Faerie Mastermind after you cast Endurance was so frustrating to me! They could've made you discard the Parallax Wave! AND THEN THEY ATTACKED?
.
He talks so much about how good Jacked Rabbit is, and yet he never actually takes the card.
Also, "I hate 3 card combos like reanimation" and "there's this 20 card combo that lets you have infinite mana using Spring Heart, Titania, Gaea's Cradle....."
That's just incidental value, he doesn't actually banks on doing it or winning through that combo...
Then you dont understand the difference. The first category of cards do nothing on their own. The second category are all cards good on their own (not literally, but if you dont see the difference, I cant help you). But I would say LSV have a pendence for having lots of "do nothings" in his deck, then kind of whining when he sometimes starts with them (Underworld Breach ) or draws them later (drawing Flash empty handed).
@@trbjrnjnssn As an addendum to what you said: cards like Reanimate can definitely be fantastic on their own, which is why he's high on those cards and less on much worse/more situational cards like Exhume.
I think he got hit in the head recently. I literally learned to cube from him but the last couple months he has lost his magic. I used to try to understand his picks and it helped me get better. But I feel like I outgrew my old man and he lost his mind. He refuses to pick mind twists all the time, says reanimator is bad (even though like he said- reanimator cards are pretty fine on their own a lot), and semi force drafts a lot of the time. I love LSV but I don't feel like I'm learning anything anymore. Plus I think his card rating has gone down.
To anyone whos think LSV is not one of the best magic players and cubers - you do you. I dont agree, but then again I am probably just as bad as him.
My comment was more a jibe at someone who is so profficient and extreamly well-versed in the upsanddowns of magic in general and probabillity in particular, that I am suprised by the mutterings and sighs, when well known limited truths are happening as predicted.
I think you overvalue Pest infestation and undervalue Mind twist.
Pretty awful take
@@giancarlocafaro6734 saying someone overvalues could mean way over, or slightly over. An awful take is not understanding your first language and then telling off anonymous people online.
