I think Eukwang was the perfect mentor for Seungmin. Eukwang’s love of singing and joy in nurturing Mayfly’s success in arranging Love Poem was contagious. He was a perfect role model and I see his care and diligence and pride in singing in Seungmin’s Song By also
Honestly what I admire the most about Seungmin (and skz as a whole) is the work ethic and the constant drive to improve. It would be so easy at that level to just sit back and relax like "yeah, I made it, I just need to keep this level consistent", but Seungmin is constantly striving to better himself, and it's incredible, especially considering just how busy and hectic his life is.
Most important thing is he said he learned lots of techniques but couldn't show it in skz songs that's why he wanted to start this show. He said it was frustrating to think when will I be able to show what I've learned. I kinda summarized what he said but I think you need to watch ep 0 with ep 3 it's only 2 min. And pls react to Seungmin's Leemujin service it's still one of the best Seungmin live performance.

I preferred “High and Dry” a lot more!! Not because his voice in “Love poem” wasn’t absolutely breath taking, but because his technique and delivery was just on another level…I don’t know how to explain it. He has a gift and the fact that I can just hear it with a touch of the hand is a blessing!!
His voice is beautiful but it’s definitely his delivery and emotions that draw me in so deeply. I personally enjoyed the experience of Love Poem more, but I think it’s because of the emotional aspect and feeling how far he’s come since Kingdom. Seungmin is just an incredible vocalist.
I'm surprised you noticed right away that every part he sings sligtly stronger. Only when I went back like 30s when listening to it on the first time, I noticed the clear difference lol. Truly masterful control, changing so seamlessly.
I love both covers that Seungmin has done. Love Poem will always have a special place in my heart because that was the start for me as a Seungmin bias and he sang High and Dry so well that I can't wait to add more Seungmin covers to my favorites!

I can't say I like one better than another cause both are amazing and different, talking about the closed mouth while singing style, I think it's something he learnt to do because of his braces, also think that is why he's doing these episodes now because he's probably had to relearn and adapt his singing to fit that he no longer wears them, it's like you can tell he sings with more confidence and tries a lot more techniques that he didn't before

He was always self-conscious about the braces, so it probably affected the way he developed his singing style. And since it is a habit that works for him, maybe he decided to keep it. He still tends to cover his mouth when he laughs or smiles. Some habits are really hard to break.
