I just graduated highschool and have been cutting my own hair since the 10th grade now. I also have just started barbering school about one month ago and I can definitely say this was helpful thank you 🙏🏾
Just another tip on the corners if you hit that corner with the corner of the trimmer At an angle going downward creating the point where the box and front edge of meet perfect corner point
I thank you so much for this video. This past Monday I went to a comb over clipper cut class and the things you’ve addressed in this video are the questions I wanted to ask. I did not know how to form my questions for the instructor to understand; but this video gave me exactly what I needed. Again thanks.
Hey Kev you should do some shaver tips or straight razor tips and also a vid on how to pic a blow dryer cause that's something I'm struggling in right now.
Shaver tips= never NEVER use it on curly texture i dont care how light your touch id. Don't do it EVER. STRAIGHT RAZOR pull the v damn life out the skin if you new id rather have the client be uncomfortable than cut them. Stretch they face the f out. Start with the C CUP and front line first add in cheek neckline goatee mustache and neck. IN THAT ORDER! A CONSISTANT pull makes consistant cuts. Start with time strokes anywhere for a 35"to 45 degree angle multiple methods for holding the blade. I like to hold it in s L formation with the pinky and ring finger behind the. Armature of the cutting blade. Watch other's hands on. Practice makes perfecf
when doing the shape up, after you start in the middle, do you go to the high side or low side first?? also u should have done an edge up w sideburns tutorial
Mike high side is best. You set that side so you don’t have to come back to it, and push the lower side back incrementally until it’s matched. Doing the low side first isn’t ideal cuz it causes too much back and forth.
Cool video, but I wish you would have touched on the "C" part of the hairline.. I'd like to know some tricks to getting that C sharp.. Some barbers I watch can get that C line going down into the sideburns really tight..
Thank you this is dope. Can you tell us how to deal with a hairline on someone older who's hair is starting to recede at the corners. I could email you a pic if it helps.
Good day sir I am a barber but in my locality, those types of clippers are not common we mostly use wired clippers. Please can I get the names of the different types of clippers needed by a barber? I would appreciate if you help me out
I think with the first guy his hair naturally goes forward so could you use a 2 guard closed or even open with the grain and still get the same results
Depends on the hair and the length. If you noticed with the curly hair he went against the hairline with a 2 closed then followed with going with the grain with a 1 open. This can also be used with fades to create smoother transitions.you can go with the grain a half step HALF STEP lower than what you wentbaginst it with 1 against (lever closed) 1/2 guard (lever open ) can be used to remove dark spots smooth area out for a cleaner cut. Useca light touch at first if you feel apprehensive you know what you want to do and create so believe to acheive your desired results
@@bthebarber916 no problem man just trying to release the knowledge.helpcto who will help you. Once you get comfortable you can elimanate the half guard during smoothing by angling no guard almost in a raking motion (also the 1 1/2) by following the same principles with the 1xguard open closed doesnt matter its all about tilt im working on it (kinda meets a 1 1/2 open )
The Prodigy typically with straight hair I go against more times than not. The shape of the curly haired client’s head allowed for me to go against with a high guard. I went with the grain as I came down. So straight =against Curly = with Most times.
It all depends on density. If it’s very high density(thick) use a smaller guard (I.e. #1), if it’s a very low density(thin) use a larger one (I.e. #2).
Hi sir thank you For your i'm barber i'm in africa ...south africa cape ...please sir i will like to start with the small stuff like the hair cape i just want to know the price please thanks have good day God bless you
hey man when you talk about the shape up and starting from the middle.. what do you mean from the longest side?? please help... do you mean you start from the receding side or the side which is not
being a Barber is not as easy as it looks. I tried cutting my hair many times but often mess up lining my hair. I appreciate these tips since The Corona Virus is still in the Air and i'm still careful about going to the barber shop. I just prefer cutting my own hair, no offense to the Barbers.
Bro... I’ll be honest to you. I used to love watching your videos but lately you’ve been doing this nasty monotone to your voice and it’s hard to continue watching the video after awhile. It sounds really gross man LOL
I would say I appreciate your honesty, but I truly dc. My voice sounds this way because it’s been damaged due to an illness I contracted. An illness you would have been aware of if you watched videos fr. So you can unsub ASAP my guy 👌🏾.
Tried a lil something different in this video. Lmk what you guys think!
What's good notification squad?!?!
What camera you use
Dirk Nowitizki all my camera gear is in the link under my video bro 👌🏾

Dope I think the Lineup is the best part of any hair cut. I obsess over my line of. I might hit it 6 to 10 times.
Did my first cut last week. Definitely was timid on the line up and how to get it fresh. This video just provide some insight.
May you please upload a video on how to identify a hairline? Not pushing any hairlines back.
This is one of my best skills after freestyle designs.
Clients always likes the sharpness of my line ups

What kind of blade are you using on your cordless t liner and how are you liking the cordless t liner overall ?
I'm using a ceramic blade, and it's definitely a solid trimmer. I'd have to say it's my favorite wireless trimmer right now.
Cool video, but I wish you would have touched on the "C" part of the hairline.. I'd like to know some tricks to getting that C sharp.. Some barbers I watch can get that C line going down into the sideburns really tight..

The cordless t-outliner but do they hit though ?
Certainly
That outliner isn't hitting bro I'm not hating but you can watch other videos I'm a barber also so I know
Hella helpful thx🤟🏽
absolutely bro. Thanks for watching!
Shouldn’t you go with the grain, when lowering the lineup?
The Prodigy I do
The Prodigy typically with straight hair I go against more times than not. The shape of the curly haired client’s head allowed for me to go against with a high guard. I went with the grain as I came down.
So
straight =against
Curly = with
Most times.
def helped! loved this vid
What # guard would you use on the clipper to trim down the hair line bulk before lining up?
It all depends on density. If it’s very high density(thick) use a smaller guard (I.e. #1), if it’s a very low density(thin) use a larger one (I.e. #2).
Any tips on making a hairline on a short cut last about 4 days
I know I can google this but how do you avoid giving the client razor bumps / burns ?
Shave gel
Bro you sound like Drake
What’s the name of the trimmer your using?
Super Dope video
Cody Martin thanks bro 🙏🏾

hey man when you talk about the shape up and starting from the middle.. what do you mean from the longest side?? please help... do you mean you start from the receding side or the side which is not
Yea The longest side = receding(est) side lol
@@KevvThaw aka highest side? lol
boom, there you go lmao
Interesting 🧐
First time seeing this
Cutting my 3 yr old sons hair. His helps so much. It’s so tough because he won’t sit still lol
Extra dope...
Thanks bro!
@@KevvThaw no doubt brotha🙏🏾
1:14 lower side is supposed to be first ..
Disagreed. It’s the receding side. Doing the lower side first only ensures you revisit that side again.
Lenny Kravitz giving that crispy
lmao, i dont look like him
I thought this was Joe Budden talking
His voice is definitely spot on to joe buddens

Thankyou I’m tryna cut my own hair
