I'll add to this. I had a man review my profile because I've been out of this dating world for 28 years! I had a full body pic that was me in front of one of those walls with the wings painted on the brick of the building. He said, "please lose that pic! Every female has them and for us guys, it's a standing joke about the Angel wing pics!" I told him it was duly noted that the Angel wing pic was equivalent to the men holding the fish! 😂

Both remarks are silly in my opinion. There's nothing wrong with fishing as a hobby or as a one time fun activity. Angel wings are painted literally for the purpose of taking photos against. There's nothing wrong with using something for its intended purpose.

@@aoutsky It is not wrong per se, but it may well give the wrong impression about you to someone you want to give a correct impression to. Also, would you post a picture of yourself at a fast food drive through pay window? There is nothing intrinsically wrong with that, there is nothing wrong with eating fast food, but is that the impression you want someone to have of you? Would it not make a lot of women question your judgment and ability in posting pictures and then they might extrapolate from that misgiving? "Why would he include that picture?" they might say to themselves. Now to counter my own point, perhaps Jenny would agree (but not with the "silly" part) that if you want to burn the haystack and drive away all the women who prefer a non-fisherman or those who have a low-level dislike of cliched pictures then post that picture.

I did this method 10 years ago, before it was a defined method, and met my husband this way. I got so tired of men wasting my time that I wrote a no-nonsense dating profile. I said that I wouldn't respond to messages that said "hey" or messages that make it clear that they didn't read my profile. I also said that I'm not looking for a pen pal. It seriously works!

Just found this video, so incredibly helpful ! I'm in the fb group and feel much better equipped to 'get back out there' since studying your method. Thanks, Jennie! Xx

Gosh the amount of butthurt people in this comment section is astounding. Thank you Jenny for this. This advice and method is going to greatly increase my time value and chances of meeting a better being I don’t have to raise or coddle.

I think i got kicked out of the facebook group for asking a question to get clarity on not writing “poor men comments?”
I didn’t even see the comments, and had no idea what we were talking about.
I asked so we can’t write comments empathizing with men?
    And got booted!
Is that the type of group it is?

I would offer a more benevolent take on it. Perhaps they were emphasizing efficiency in a fashion similar to what Burn the Haystack strives for: Nothing unnecessary to the goal and no sidetracking the goal. You might see your question as one to get clarity, but perhaps they saw it as an unnecessary distraction that was an invitation for more distractions. You don't want that in your Profile in a dating app and you don't want that on your Facebook group, I imagine. You didn't intend it that way, perhaps, but that might be the way they saw it. It doesn't mean they don't empathize with men or that they hate men--and now you see how quickly it can get to that unnecessary place as THE point of discussion.

If I hadn’t gotten booted on a point of clarity I might be more inclined to care what they were thinking. As it is, I’m a human being too. They didn’t consider me for one second and it doesn’t feel good to be treated that way-especially when it isn’t about rejecting women or confidants-it’s about finding a match.

Yes, women who make their own rules tend to use that to eliminate controlling men very quickly. I see you’ve displayed your negative qualities upfront for easy triage. Men who complain about the females they spend hours and hours thinking about how to possess, seem very odd to those of us who spend zero time thinking about attracting a man like you.
