The only thing never mentioned is that the difference between the luxury model and after market model that you can't buy after market is the light in the more expensive vehicles is the brightness or tone is set to where you can really see it at night but it is in no way disturbing to the eyes. In other words when you are driving at night you can't see them unless you are looking at them directly. There is a reason for that. After market ones like these or on Amazon are called coffee lights, or show lights. Something you don't want on while driving at night but have them on when you are at a gathering to show off the vehicle. Looks great but way to bright.

It's just the ir on that wire bro no mic the mic is in the box itself on the PCB but it's still well sensitive enough to pick up low frequency doofs to react to most music as long as it's mounted not all the way back on your firewall or something it would still work just not as sensitive, I know because I ripped one apart and they are very generic internals. Not trying to be rude, just mentioned so it can be taken into account when choosing mounting location. Yours looks slightly higher quality than some the outside of it and probably a little bigger as it's a 6 light affair not the 4 light ones I've had. Thinking about doing it again actually and if I can't find one that's done already I'll be making holes where the mice sits in the case just so it even reacts to voices not just bass and the music doesn't have to be loud before it picks it up 😂
Can you have them set to automatically power on when the vehicle starts? You’re powering through your switch panel so it’s hard to tell. I assume the answer is yes.
Yes, just wire it up to a ignition circuit, or if your 12v socket only comes on with the vehicle being started, put your power cord there with its switch ‘on’

Bought these and spent 2 hours (this past weekend) installing them and the controller box stopping working after the 3rd time of using them. Only get white lights and the control box will not do anything.....

what did you do with the red wire, i saw the green go into the switch box but you didnt show what you did with the red. ive done almost every upgrade you have. i love all of them. doing the cube lights next week. i have the same 8 gang that you recommended. i have used your promo codes quite frequently. keep the videos and upgrades coming
Thanks for the support man! The red wire (+) went into the 5 amp (+) part of the switch. The green was the negative one. There is a picture with labels on my community page for my switch wiring

Thanks for another great video. I would like to add ambient lighting to my AT4 as well. Instead of wiring it to a switch though, I want to wire it so that the lights go on and off automatically with the rest of interior/ dome lights. Have any idea how to do that?
I read this when you posted it. I don’t have a perfect answer yet. You could set up a relay to trigger them on and off. I think a fuse tap to a circuit that is on with the ignition is your answer.
I've been looking into this too and so far all I could find was connecting to a pin on the k9 bcm under the driver's dash. Upfitters guide will tell you which pin. In the good ole days you could just wire tap, but now everything is through bcm's. The actual dome lights are no longer "bulbs." They're like motherboards with the light sources sodered in. Like Don said, best option is to fuse tap or use a switch. For now anyways. I have a 23 sierra and I'm looking out for brave folks to venture into the bcm territory before I go that route too. The idea of the LEDs coming on with the domes and functioning along with the stock switch and toggle is nice. We shall see!
@@tdwnex I ended up installing 2 sets of LEDs. I wired up a set of very low wattage white LEDs that I tapped directly into dome light circuit so they come on and go off with the dome lights. I wired a 2nd set of ambient lights (they change color and flash to music) directly to my upfitter switch. I physically attached the strips of LEDs to a small piece of aluminum angle stock and then mounted the angle stock. While this method was a little more complicated for installation, it was the easiest method to accomplish what I was looking for wiring & electronics wise.
Because I wanted to use a switch for power and the app for color changing. I will probably lose the remote in the crack between the seats, never to be seen again
Pretty sad my $100k 2023 At4 has no accent lighting yet it’s standard on pretty much every trim level of Ford, Dodge, Toyota, Nissan trucks…even my 02 Sierra had footwell and door lights

A fuse tap to your dome lights works so much better.
That way it comes on when the domes are on.
I don't want it on all the time, but it is an option.
Ya it's not that easy with these new trucks. There is no fuse for dome lights. I'm reading on forums now, its a pain in the ass .

I installed an Auxbeam AR-800 switch there. It is a popular 12volt switch company that makes them.
I woulda wired it into the doors or the factory ambient lighting so it turned on when doors get unlocked

I have 2 spots left. A winch is possible but I am looking at a new bumper if I do that. I would consider it is all I can say at the moment

If tapping the microphone doesn’t work and make the lights respond, my guess is that the microphone is defective

Unfortunately every light in the interior (on my trim) is comprised of integrated LEDs. I am not sure of the SLTs.

This one is the RGB one. It just allowed for a pretty close representation of pure white

Not on the higher trim versions of these taillights. They are an integrated LED.

After market ambient lights are too bright, more like a disco than providing real ambiance.
They are brighter! A person could reposition them, tint them, put them in a sleeve to diffuse them.
May I ask Why is Yours so much brighter than your wife's? It's a HUGE Difference
Because my wife’s are the built in ones from Cadillac. Mine are aftermarket and can be placed wherever I want
