    Twist outs are my signature look! I re-twist my hair every night to upkeep my twist out. My twist outs lasts for a full week, each night I twist it the more stretched or elongated it is the next day 😄🙌🏽

    • @aliennvomet
      @aliennvomet 4 года назад +9

      That’s exactly what I do 😂 the only thing I don’t like about my twist outs is that my roots will be puffy the next day, drives me crazy 😂

    • @ebonywilkes
      @ebonywilkes 4 года назад +8

      Aliicenn try to make sure you’re starting the twists at your root and it’s also important that when you first put your twists in to apply product on your roots as well! 😀

    • @naturallynay7231
      @naturallynay7231 4 года назад

      Do you comb it out and re twist or just resist? Also do you put product on when you retwist?

    • @ebonywilkes
      @ebonywilkes 4 года назад +11

      Naturally Nay no I don’t comb it out because that might cause unnecessary frizz, that can also can potentially disturb the style itself. I don’t apply any more product to it either. However I do make sure to apply oil to my fingertips as I re-twist and take out the twists as well. And it’s optional, but curl refresher sprays are awesome too for my hair! You can even give that a try, hope that helps 🙂

    This was a helpful video. A tip for the dent in your hair is to use jelly/spiral hair ties. Kind of like Invisibobbles but cheaper and work the same way. They are sold at the dollar store and can stretch super far and don't cause creases:)

    • @adannaxo

      Try flat twisting. It really keeps your roots flat and makes your hair lie flatter. I do them for most of my hair to keep the roots flat and to get more stretch. I do regular twists at the very back as I have a looser curl pattern there which comes with less shrinkage than the rest of my hair. So if I flat twisted the back, it would elongate the back of my hair even more than it usually is, as it doesn't shrink much and just hangs. Hope that helps.

    I think the only thing you didn’t talk about, is how to twist. Most, don’t have a good technique for making the twists. Even if it’s moisturized well, I’ve found that the way I twist each twist from root to top will hold the moisture/ definition differently. I.e when I do the rope twist methods, verses the traditional way of twisting. Kinda of like asking a braider, if they braid over handed or underhanded if that makes sense

I’m still in love with your advice though, but there’s something you do with your back hand that I couldn’t catch. You explained what the front hand does, but not that back hand. Everything you mentioned is great as long as your hair is in a healthy moisturized state, which is my problem. My hair is high porosity and trying to retain moisture is my main priority because I know it's the basis for getting a good twist out or any hair style. All the points you mentioned I do, just right now I have to retwist every other night.

Also, just a note, I use most of the products in the Rosemary Mint collection by Mielle Organics, however, I have not yet tried the oil or edge control. I do know that the shampoo, deep conditioner, and styling cream all work great, though, so I’m assuming that the edge control and oil are great as well!😁😇😇 (This comment is for anyone out there in need of a good product recommendation)
