I don’t think anyone says it’s impossible. We just say they are still 5-10 years way from actual full FSD. 3 minutes into the video, the car stopped at a green light in the middle of an intersection to let pedestrians who DIDN’t have the right of way to cross the street. Mistakes like that can NEVER happen for this to be true full FSD. Tesla, well really Musk, has unfortunately consistently over promised and under delivered.

@@raz318 - There is a reason why only one person has got this version yet. With these FSD 12.1.2 videos, the FSD Team wanted us to know how good this new approach works after only 6 months. The AI learning curve is exponential. No comparison to hardcoding progress that gets slower and slower and never meets perfection. It's up to us now to imagine how good this is going to work in the near future when Dojo has processed thousands of hours more camera recordings.

Hey Guys, that was friggin’ fantastic! You guys went from San Francisco to SFO while the car was driving! That’s mind blowing! As I said before, I can not wait until Tesla releases v12. I’m on v11 now and I let the car drive from Saratoga to Los Gatos mainly without interventions, but sometimes I have to intervene because the way the car is going conflicts with a normal route, I think. Please, Omar and Gali, tell Tesla there are lots of folks who really would like to try v12. Cheers!

It was interesting but almost not surprising to hear Galli almost souring on FSD. I think most 'bulls' who are unhappy now are going to be blown away by how quickly FSD is going to change the narrative.
I hope and expect it to go wide release in 3-4 months and approach L4 within 4-6 months from there. The world has no idea. V12 is transformational!
Thanks so much for doing these vids. I went from not watching anymore v11 vids since Elons demo drive to your v12 vids being my fav thing to watch!!! It's even better than I expected it to be (amd my expectations skyrocketed after seeing Elons demo drive last year).
V11 would never have worked IMO. You just cannot code for all the control conditions. This is the way, all the way, end to end NNs. V12.1.2 is already so good it fools you into thinking you can trust it.
I think the world will see this year that L4 and L5 are just a matter of more training.

Wow. Impressive. Can't wait to get V12 on the east coast! V11 does some annoying (and sometimes scary/dangerous) things in VA, mostly on divided highways with unprotected intersections with rural roads. I still use it, just have to be on alert to recover from phantom braking (rare, sometimes down to a near stop) and getting into a turn lane when navigation clearly shows it's supposed to be going straight (sadly common). That trip to SFO was incredible, especially the parts through the city.

Tesla should make FSD available on all vehicles and bill monthly at $0.10 per FSD mile driven. This eliminates the formidable one time purchase barrier, the high dollar monthly subscription barrier, the FSD vehicle transfer issue, and the safety criticism that drivers are allowed to use plain Autopilot on city streets. It brings FSD into the mainstream Tesla experience, drivers choosing to use FSD little, pay little, and drivers who use it a lot, pay more. Deployment as a feature for all drivers makes FSD licensing more attractive to other automakers. The per mile rate can be tweaked to balance fleet FSD use, capability, and revenue.

With end to end, do they no longer have dials to adjust performance and behavior?

Tesla should charge the FSD usage by the miles people use it. If I use FSD to drive 10 miles, I pay $1.

Loved the whole video. Great FSD V12 demo. Great chat between you and Gali. Finished it feeling more optimistic about Tesla’s ability to deliver on its FSD promises than ever before. Congrats to Tesla on great progress. And to you on a great video. Can’t wait to try it out in Australia 🇦🇺 when it comes here. Please be soon 🤞

I think I will be in a state of disbelief if/when we get V12 in Australia. Given the limited amount of training data compared to the US (and LA/SF in particular) it still might be years away for us. Just imagine when it finally starts downloading here in Oz.

CAN NOT WAIT - especially after seeing this! Not expecting it to be good as this straight away of course. But if it’s close or shows this kind of potential in some way then bring it on 👍🏻

Are the pedals also moving or am I going crazy?

I believe Gali hit a gummy before this drive. Watching this video of v12 is making me feel really positive about FSD. Love the positive energy. Just think. It can only improve.

You should do a video in a 3rd person camera with 2 of the same teslas, one human driver and one v12 and see if people can tell the difference from the video
