I've been to Hector lake 5 times. Three of the times was to head to Margaret and Turquoise lakes. The final two times was to visit and stay at Hector. Very beautiful and off the beaten path. Well worth the 1 mile hike to get there.
Hahaha, so much for walking across those rocks without getting your feet wet. Right in after a certain point. Once you got to the other side and saw the mountains it was awesome. SO beautiful. Man! You are always so lucky with the animal sightings. I don't know how you do it.
Yes, me and my brother are very lucky when it comes to spotting wildlife. The trail to Hector is short and easy, but it is not well defined, and no signage, so not many people go on this trail.
Gorgeous area, the Bow River is nice and pristine up there. I have no doubt that there is great trout fishing in Hector Lake and the Bow River. I would like to try someday. That was an impressive looking moose, very powerful animal. Another great hike, thanks.
No, you don't have to cross the river but the non-river crossing route is longer and not marked or defined. Hector Lake is a beautiful lake to hike to, well worth the effort.

Hector lake is stunning, no crowds, and not difficult to get to. Well worth the hike. Take care.
Gorgeous country and impressive moose! Thanks for sharing!

No it isn't good fishing. It's cold sterile glacial water, not conducive to insect life so very little food for fish.
Your videos are beautiful, love Cananda! Just joined your channel :)

Wow! the water seems super low at the time of your trip. When did you do it?
It was the summer of 2001, I think it was a low snow pack that year.
Where can i park my car to go Hector Lake? Pls
You can park right at the trail head next to the highway.
