Good video. 👍 I personally have starling bank I use it for saving up for my holidays and use abroad as I find it's one of the best cards for that.. but I've been hearing about monzo lately a lot of people's Bank accounts have been closed without warning I also hear that Watchdog got involved.. monzo seem to be one of the worst for closing accounts.

I use a traditional bank and credit card, brilliant apps for online banking but lacking when it comes to helping with budgeting. Thinking of getting a Monzo possibly joint and putting £x monthly which would be for groceries and shopping with the idea of having a budget and sticking to it to save from that amount ie better the budget is followed then surplus to be saved. Would Monzo be able to do this?
Thanks for watching and yes you can do that and if you have Monzo plus to get earn interest too I believe . You create budgets and pots and can even save the change when you spend x
i would not recommend monzo tbh they have closed so many accounts for absolutely no reason

Hi mate. I'm going to make a monzo with your link. It directs me to the site which says you sent me a golden ticket. Just wanted to know what does that mean, since I know that they give £5 free.
I’ve recent found out Monzo do not offer the £5 incentive now !! :/( curve card still do and you can use them both together. Hope that helps

Curve card is crap because as soon as you loose your card and need a replacement you have to use there chat service which isn't live chat and can take hours or days to get a reply, they also wanted me to verify my documents via a dodgy link sent via a email from an external provider (talk about dodgyness), not only this they also have embarrassing card declines in stores and in the end you have to use your normal card. Monzo is the best in my opinion, easy to use, great everyday card and great costs abroad.
Supposedly they have a 'anti embarrassment mode' which charges a backup card if your initial one is declined but I agree their CS is awful. I haven't had to verify any documents from dodgy links, but I'm trying to get them to fix an issue with contactless via Samsung Pay on my Galaxy Active Watch (Monzo don't support Samsung Pay and won't in the future, and Galaxy Watches don't support Google Pay which I've successfully used with Monzo) but I contact them and get ignored until I tweet them then they say 'they're getting back to me' which they do but I reply and the cycle starts again.
Have just ordered a starling card which works w Samsung Pay and was planning on using Starling initially as a holding account I top up monthly for Samsung Pay contactless (where I don't have my phone; for example if I go for a run and need to charge my phone) but based on Luke's last video on Monzo and their account closing scam, I may switch to Starling asap even tho I haven't any issues with Monzo yet
@@oliviadaly4795 let me know how Starling is in future. I’ve heard of Monzo closing accounts for no reason too but haven’t had that issue yet but might be because I pay for the metal card. Other than that Monzo and Starling are great options
Luke what do you think of the tide Business account would you benefit from one of those cards I’m thinking of switching to tide what are your thoughts ?.......

I know on Curve you can use Amex, can you use Amex on others?

It does work with Google Pay, but not much use if you have an iPhone.

DK nope i had to transfer the pay pal money to my brother at a cost of £5 !!
