Hmm. I'm not sure if strength is the nature of masculinity per se as it is applicable to femininity as well. Strength is found in both ends of the spectrum. I also think the reason women choose tact over honesty many times is not because of lack of strength but rather because we assess whether the other person is able to benefit from the truth. The reason we don't tell someone they're fat is out of consideration for their feelings, not because of lack of strength.

In contemporary times (the last century or so), the only possible nakshatras in Aries are Uttara Bhadrapada, Revati, and Asvini, right? It would be interesting to see whether all possible nakshatras for a sign turn up in lists of famous people. What are some reasons why a Mars in Aries person would not be independent or inceptive? I have a Mars in Aries, but as a kid and young adult, I was not a typical strong independent Mars in Aries as described here. I was possibly even opposite of those traits.
