    Wow.
    I needed this video badly
I have an Super XL 925.
She is a beast and runs like a champ. But it’s starting to need some maintenance. I did the piston and cylinder on it back in 2005. She starts every time. I run my Stihl 261 most of them time but When I am cutting up big logs I always go to my XL 925

I just got me a 1982 homelite super xl-925, it may have been ran for maybe 10 minutes, in its life, but has never even touched a piece of wood. The fuel line is dry rotted, but at least they didnt leave fuel in it, at least i dont think. I cant wait to get all the dirt, grim, mouse droppings and stink bugs off of it, clean it all up, and back together. When i got it, i got a stihl 064 AV, 4 stihl 056 av supers, a sweet stihl 064 AV Magnum II, also.

Lovin' the longer repair vids Leon they are very interesting and informative! Very nice job as usual. Looking forward to the repair/reassembly video as it will be very helpful! That third hand chainsaw mount is invaluable.

    Those saws had a 3-shoe clutch also. I had 2 of these, a 944 & a 925. They both had 175 lbs comp 1st pull! Stout buggers!

Thank you for the detailed video! Messing around trying my hand at replacing the seals on my 925. Hard to find information like this step by step. Hope you are doing well! Subscribed!

Great video Leon! I picked up a clean 925 on eBay a couple weeks ago that’s a good runner. Prob over paid a little, but I couldn’t pass on it.
It looks good sitting next to my VI955 that you brought back to life.
I’m sure I’ll have to use this video as a reference at some point.

Great video would like to see more of these. I know what you mean about using a power tool on the bolts; I have a tendency to use the t27 on the Sthils and those bolts are only 5mm. They snap very easy..

I broke out an old Super XL 925 that's been in storage for well over 25 years. It's in very nice original condition. Got it running pretty decent but want's to stall when running on it's side. Sure it's hard to guess but what should I look for first? Carb needs rebuilt, duck bill, crank seal? Would like to get it running right as it's a very nice saw for it's age. My father got it back in the late 70's or early 80's I think and probably used it 5 or 6 times. Been watching your awesome videos to help me figure out the issue. Any help would be appreciated.

That xl925 looks like a nice size for a 82cc saw. Not as heavy as say my C52. Interesting.

Heat on the crank and a small hammer around the edges of flywheel and will pop off no tool needed :)

Super good videos Leon. Quick question. How many Homelites have you seen with a single piston ring? I have a 69 XL-870 and it has one massive piston ring at the very top of the piston, almost no ring land above the top of the ring. The single ring must be about 60+ thousands. .0625 would be my guess. I also have an 1966 XL-800 with a typical style piston. Quite interesting and curious if this was common?
