Hi Richard , I’m a relatively new subscriber and and having kept shrimp for years I am only just getting into the ‘breeding game’ having been inspired by your channel. I ordered some Repashy after watching this video and added it to my planted aquarium……omg, within minutes my Amano shrimp (which are rarely seen) absolutely smashed it up! Thank you for introducing me to this amazing product and hope that the makers of Repashy acknowledge you!
I've been using Shrimp Baby like you use Rapashy. I make a paste and let it dry and cut it into blocks and feed it in a feeding container. It breaks down quick but has done the job. I did not know about Rapashy used as blocks, I'll try it. Your videos have helped me go from 10 shrimp to well over 100! Great advice, listen to Richard people!! Amazon has it here in the USA
You're right I would have never known about this product without your video. They should really partner with you to get the word out. I'm excited to try this with my shrimpies! It's so fun to watch them eat.

@@FishKeepingAnswers inspired me to make a fresh batch this morning. I’ll be going on vacation for a week and I find if I feed repashy before leaving it really holds them over for 4 days or so
I have used this product for both fish and shrimp. It was popular and never lasted long. I find those who think it is work odd. Aquariums take effort so why not put effort into the food? As always, an excellent video, mate!
I was trying to find a food for one of my plecos, and I tried a couple different types, but she hates everything. I ended up using the Repashy to feed the shrimp, and I mix in a couple crushed spirulina tabs to add some veggie. They love it.
One interesting food that seemed to worked well was basil leaves. The waxy coating stopped them from melting and they would sit in the tank for days being eaten Uncooked carrots also last a very long time and it develops a film the shrimp eat over and over
@FishKeepingAnswers hi, please can I ask a question? I have new shrimp tank first time ever keeping them. 2 shrimp arrived in berry and I have seen 3 shrimplets so far, I notice I have another 3 shrimp in berry. Not being sure how to help the babies to survive while so tiny, I decided to buy snowflake pellets and turn a pellet into dust. I have put a small pinch of this dust in the tank once a day, my thinking being that it would disperse over the plants etc. my question is - does my thinking make sense? I only do a very small pinch, I’m very conscious of my water parameters as i have a nano tank. I’d be interested in any advice. Take care💕
hiya, I love your videos but it appears I can’t seem to get this respashy for shrimp anywhere, not many places to sell it. would you recommend an alternative gel type food?
Hi. Thanks for taking the time to get in touch. I can only get mine from EBay or directly from Repashy.co.uk. I haven’t tried any other gel foods. Sorry.
Wen i put repashy in my shrimp tank its too covered in shrimp to see 5 minutes later, when i add it to the platy tank all 25 of em pile up on it and i have to drop a second cube somewhere else so the corys and betta can get some, and in the community tank with an angel, a pair of swordtails, serpae tetras, kuhlis, mysery snails, and corys it sits there all day and overnight then gets taken out before it rots
Feed less in community tank. Or melt it and put in a squirt food bottle. While the platys are distracted, use sinking food for bottom feeders that can’t get the food on other side of tank.
@@Youarat225 I did eventually get the community tank to eat it, the problem seemed to just be the flavor. I had one of the bottom feeder ones and when that ran out I got community plus and they seem to like it a lot more. My only problem now is the angel refuses to eat anything once it touches the substrate so I have to let him eat first while I hold a cube in my aquascaping tongs then drop it in for everyone else
@@peadrianlastname nice! I’d recommend just buying some flake food for the angelfish. They float for a couple minutes, and eventually sink for other fish to eat.
Can you get nettles in your garden(here in the UK) and drop them into your tank or any tree leafs? I have read this online few times but wanted to ask the expert! 😊

Oh heck yeah. I fed repashy soilent green and community mix to all my fish and shrimp when I used to keep shrimp. It stays stable in the water for about 24 to 48 hours, so the stock can graze on it as they wish, and you don't have to worry about removing uneaten food. Just make sure the water is BOILING hot or it won't set up right
Hello, i got the food a couple days ago. (The community type) I went to the local pet store for shrimp and after a few days letting them get adjusted. I made the food as said plopped it in. Waited a couple. After like 2 hours they still haven’t touched it. Left it for longer and still no. It took it out for no parameter spikes. Should i get more of the super food to mix the combination or should i just straight up try a new food like blood worms because they are bottom dwellers? Please let me know if not its okay!

FishKeepingAnswers hi, sorry if I’m a nuisance, i just saw something which was strange, well strange to me. I watch my shrimp often when waiting for the kettle to boil or something. This pm I looked in the tank and saw a huddle of shrimp, not sure what I was seeing I stop the air pump to see more clearly. At first I thought a shrimp was having problems molting. Then I thought have I got a dead shrimp and they are huddle on it? Then it came clearer, there were 5 shrimp all seemed locked together side by side, every now and then the middle one which was slightly underneath the other 4 tried to swim but it was held down by the other 4. This went on for about 5 mins. Then all the shrimp suddenly separated and all went their separate ways the middle one shot out the huddle as fast as it could and hid. Has anyone else seen this behaviour? Have I just seen them mating by chance? Sorry, I’m new to shrimp and inquisitive. Take care💕
@FishKeepingAnswers hi, just an update to the above activity i notice. The little orange shrimp who was in the centre of the huddle of 5 shrimp came from hiding today to feed. She is heavy in berry. So I think i have my answer - yes 4 males on 1 female, so is it possible all 4 males have donated sperm to fertilise the eggs? It’s all very interesting. Take care 💕
I tried 4 different kinds of Repashy. 1st, its nasty to make and gets everywhere. Then wherever its been, it stinks something awful for several monites after its put back away. And its very expensive and labor intensive to use. And sadly after all that. not a single fish would eat it. I have several tanks. Putting small amounts of this resulted in fish going as far away as they could from it in each tank, as if they thought it was something awful. So my plecos, shrimp, corys, gouramis, tetras, loaches, danios, atocinclus and even snails wont come near it...Let alone try to eat it. I tried for months to get any of my inhabitants to try it and not one nibble from any of them on any of the 4 repashi foods I got. I tried it as a dry wafer and as sprinkled and as frozen cubes. Not one wanted to try the stuff and frankly it was triggering my gag response just opening the containers of it. So I eventually gave up and threw it all out.Jist a very expensive experiment that was a complete failure for all of my tanks. I about a year later gave it a try again thinking maybe I just had bad powder or prepared it wrong. 2nd time failed as badly as 1st time. Then it begins breaking down almost the moment it enters the water l. It begins to breakup immediately. So for me and my fish, It was a complete rejection of it by my fish and invertebrates .
If yours was breaking up the minute it entered the water, it sounds like something went wrong when mixing or measuring the quantities. The best thing bout Repashy is the fact it remains stable in the water for 24 or more hours.
