Anyone who thinks this song is a new patriotic Nazi hymn is wrong. This is a satirical masterpiece that questions the supposedly German identity and looks at German heroism and national pride from an ironic and critical perspective. Poetry consciously plays with the possibility of interpreting individual words. The original video underscores the ambivalence of Germans to their history. Through the black German queen and the contemplation of acting from space you get a sense of how irrelevant, meaningless and ridiculous is the extremism of a single state.
