Conquering the mighty trail up to The Summit of Whiteface Mountain in Wilmington NY. My brother John and I hiked up the treacherous terrain climbing almost 5,000 feet above sea level, high altitude. This vacation was very memorable and I definitely recommend this hike as it is a grueling workout to say the least. The views are spectacular and words cannot describe the beauty and grandeur. This is a popular tourist attraction. We went during the summer, but in the winter it is covered with snow and becomes a key place to go skiing and snowboarding. Lake Placid, Adirondacks is only 10 miles away. This City hosted the Olympics in 1932 and 1980. The XIII Olympic Winter Games was in 1980.
