I love all of the maternity clothes, I really wished I knew SHEIN had these during all of my pregnancy 😩.
Here are some breastfeeding tips from one mommy to a new mommy ❤, things I wish I knew when I tried to breastfeed my first child.
1.The breast milk does not come immediately, what comes first is the colostrum. colostrum is the “pre-mature” milk. When I had my first child I was so depressed because I didn’t think I was making enough milk for a days old new born baby, and after 3 weeks I gave up on breastfeeding. Cluster feeding happens the first 24hrs after birth, so that colostrum probably won’t be enough for the baby. Trust me I learned after my 2,3 & 4th child 😅.
2. Nursing baby directly from the breast, breastfed babies nurse every hour or two the most, from the breast. It’s completely different from a bottle fed baby, a bottle fed baby can last up 2-4 hrs without feeding, depending on the baby. Nurses and doctors will tell you to pump every 2-3 hours, to me I find that method b.s because that method does not work for everyone. What worked for me was literally pumping after every feeding.Supply and demand, The more you empty your breast, the more milk your body will create. If you ever wanted to try breastfeeding supplements, milky mama was my favorite breastfeeding supplements 🙌🏾.
3. Getting as much rest as much as you can, staying hydrated & eating the right foods will help with milk production. Breastfeeding is both a mental & physical process, if you are not properly resting, staying hydrated & eating the right food, then your body wont be able to produce the milk for your baby. This was my biggest downfall when I had my first child🤦🏾‍♀️.
4. Massaging the breast in a downward motion helps with the letdown flow & prevents engorgement, plus clogged milk ducts.
5. You’re going to be exhausted, breastfeeding can be mentally draining, but I know you got this yalon girl 🙌🏾🙏🏾❤. If breastfeeding does not go as planned, it’s okay, to go for formula. the support is there, we are all here for you girl.
