IPS D. Sivanandhan has been a former Maharashtra DGP who was once the Chief of the Mumbai Crime Branch in the late 90s. During his tenure, 238 gangsters from several gangs, including, Chhota Rajan, and the Abu Salem gang, were killed in the encounter. He is someone who is known for destroying the Mumbai underworld on the basis of his insane leadership abilities.
D. Sivanandhan talks about how the Indian intelligence predicted the 26/11 attacks in advance. He shares that Late Mr. Hemant Karkar even called all the general managers of the hotels located on the seashore to aware them of such an attack. He concluded by saying that the Mumbaikers should feel safe as the police force is well prepared to tackle any such incidents.

If intelligence upto that much clarity was given that an attack from sea can happen on to some big hotels including taj, oberoi etc.. you can't get much clearer intelligence anywhere else.. intelligence always comes in bits and pieces. Its all about being alert. when some gujrati fisher mens were killed and their boats highjacked that was an alarming sign for the incident to happen.

The police, army, nsg did an amazing job to neutralize the terrorists and 18 servicemen made the supreme sacrifice to protect civilians . With such clear intelligence responsible authorities and hotels must have taken proactive measures to stop the attack from even happening

Looks like the casualty rate could’ve been reduced if there was a better coordination among the LE agencies. Clearly other federal agencies were better equipped for incidents like this but Mumbai police didn’t give them scope

There is a particular reason for this 1) Lack of Coordination 2) lack in giving proper equipment at correct time 3) Barkha Dutt:- she was reporting live to the whole audience of India and Pakistan to see , even the preparators of the attack were giving their terrorists support and telling them about the locations of the police and where they should hide since Barkha Rani was live reporting regarding all of this.

With all due respect - you talk about Mumbaikars being protected and prepared, but what is the central govt. doing to protect other parts of the country which may not attract the same level of attention as Mumbai? India is more than just Mumbai - they should be taking steps to beef up security and protection to all points of interest where there are large concentrations of civilians, not just keep that security for high-end hotels and relatively more affluent cities. An attack on Indian soil is an attack against every indian - whether it be in Maharashtra, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, etc. etc.

@@Mrshadowball It is not easy to respond in a RUclips comment, but I may recommend the book "The Myth of Hindu Terror" by R.V.S. Mani. He was a senior official in the Ministry of Home Affairs back then, and he explains the iniquitous role played by the government during the attack. At best, the government was indifferent to national security. At worst, it was complicit. Either way, the evidence stacks too greatly against the ruling dispensation of those days.

i was a 3 year old when this infamous incident took place so i didn't know a thing about it back then but later on when i grew up eventually my mum narrated these incidents to me and it was absolutely horrifying , so we live in Calcutta and my mum told me how my whole family was so scared because my dad was in delhi at that point of time due to his work and he didn't return back to Calcutta for a week because delhi calcutta and chennai are considered one the most famous cities of India so he didn't travel back to Calcutta and stayed in delhi for a week fearing that something like this might happen in Calcutta or in Delhi as these are very populated and when i heard this for the first time i couldn't believe my mum cause i was 8 back then and didn't get the concepts of terrorism

26/11 was a monumental failure by the then Govt in New Delhi, led by weaklings like Manmohan Singh, Shivraj Patil, Pranab Mukherjee, etc etc. It was ironic that the destiny of 1.2 billion people was in the hands of a few useless Indians, who were taking direct orders from an Italian born, who in her entire political career in India has not been a true Indian. India was the most helpless and vulnerable during these years, when they were in power.
