So evocative. "Drifts of years". I like that...so many words and phrases in this clip that I like, in fact. Wow - amazing photos. Winter - a great subject to think creatively about, and that lovely music too. A treat on a very cold day. You pose an interesting question..."will stories of snow today be the stuff of folklore for our grandchildren?" I think they are already! I really like the clips of Derbyshire people being interviewed - so nostalgic.
A great evocative collection of tales and photos. From Derby Mercury we walked and skied many weekends- not seen snow in any quantity for years. Present day drivers would have to learn a new technique of driving - and stopping,
The winter of 1947 was brutal. As kids we found it to be a winter wonderland. But our parents didn't find it so. Shortages of fuel, food and basic services plagued the country for weeks.
Thanks for the picture Anthony. One thing we noticed was how few photos there were of falling snow. So well done you braving the elements. Glad you like the video.
@@voicesfromthepeak2784 although I’m happy to hike in the snow, to be fair, when we started it wasn’t snowing at all. We had been over both Parkhouse and Chrome Hills and was just looping round back to Earl Sterndale when it snowed harder than I’ve ever known it snow before. It was quite a sight 👍🏼
I love this, I thought 2010 was a bad winter, now I don’t!
Surprisingly heart warming for a film about cold weather 😬
Atmospheric images, voices and music blended together to create a unique and poignant Peak District perspective. Thank you!

Nicely done 👌🏼
And nice for me to get a little photo credit in there too. Thanks for that.
Look forward to more.
