The pots are literally toxic and are giving people lead poisoning.
Metals used in engines and such are not food grade and require significant chemical refining that is not done here to remove lead from them.
This is literally why we have codes and standards.

They don't have the infrastructure, and many places are like 100 years behind the first world when it comes to conveniences and safety. People make a hundred or a couple hundred dollars a year, labor is cheaper than the equipment. The fuel is wood, or probably waste oil, whatevers around.

look it up ! here is the metals that are in aluminium blocks, Most cast aluminum engine blocks are made from one of three alloys: 319, A356 or A357. The 319 alloy is 85.8% to 91.5% aluminum, 5.5% to 6.5% silicon, 3% to 4% copper, 0.35% nickel, 0.25% titanium, 0.5% manganese, 1% iron, 1% zinc and 0.1% magnesium. I am with You on cooking in aluminum however but You must have to say it Many of these shops make pretty neat stuff with bare feet You have to admire their industry don't You ? I think they look Very nice !

@@8001010 Aluminium can be the contaminant. Acidic food can leech some Aluminium from the pot and also other stuff that it in it, like the lead from a used motor block. For cooking ware Aluminium has to bei pure.
You should anodize the pots or coat them with eg. ceramic. But that would of course raise the costs.
