solid 8.5 which puts it at #146 in my overall collection. i do have games rated lowe than 8 btw... i just don't rate games i've gotten rid of or that i've only played in prototype form :)
I haven't played the game yet, but it feels like those worker cycling actions would be much better if they let the player to select the color of the new workers, otherwise it is too random
The game is indeed absolutely amazing! Played it three times over the weekend and the whole group fell in love with it. Sooo unique in it s flow, very deep, but still a fast playing game! Great stuff indeed! Also had a few nice comeback moments in our games which make the game even more surprising. Only in 1 game (of the 3) we managed to get rid of our workers. I say 'we', cause after a swift combotastic comeback I managed to win the game as startplayer... my wife demanded she could do her turn also for that round (season) and indeed she also managed to get rid of all her workers... So, we think it would be better if this was the real rule to finish of the round (season) to give everyone the same amount of turns. @rahdo your thoughts? + how many times did you and Jen manage to get rid of all your workers?
we've played it 3 times, and one time it COULD have happened that i got all of my workers one round before the end of the game. There was only a 1 in 6 chance that i would fail (if rolled a yellow 1) because otherwise i could have turned anything into the yellow 4 i needed, and OF COURSE the yellow 1 was rolled. So we played the last turn and i won anyway (just barely) but would been very cool to close it out early! :)
@@ilqrd.6608 heartbreaking choices... for example in a turn: one dice gives you a great placement combo, a great development, or the defense you need... + are you gonna use or very scarce dice manipulor or not... are you gonna build up for the long game (creating many actionspots, but also attracting lots of workera or going for the bird in the hand (placing workers every time you can)... the race for the decrees is also very tens (played at all player counts)... and with all these depth in choices also very streamlined and fast play. Great stuff!

Do you also think it would be better to end the round (season) so that everybody gets the same amount of turns (cause it feels unfair if you are later in the round and would also end the game if you had your turn)? Coincidentally Zee just talked about this in the review of Orichalcum. Where he states that the sudden death is done right cause you have agency of who gets to be the startplayer every round. In Discordia there is no such agency of being the startplayer (except for being startplayer the first season of the year as a catch-up mechanism). Your thoughts please :)
Still not sure how every game would still feel fresh? Also, I’m hearing you find this one clever and unique but you are not saying it’s actually fun. I can tell you don’t think it’s amazing
it is actually fun. i've rated it at 8.5 and it's in my top150 games of all time. it has tons of replayability because of the unique combination objectives and privilege tiles
