    Lisa, thank you for this video! I've been watching it late evening, with a cuppa and just the small lamp on, so I've been able to see colours and process much more clearly.
    When you said you were going to put in the cuttlefish, and put up its photo, I immediately said, "Ohhh, you are sooo beautiful!" because it is. They are that weird thing called 'beautifully ugly' (translated from the French, jolie-laid) and that fish was a truly fitting thing for the painting, though I can't explain why. and so were the little damsel fish. I've seen lots of them when snorkelling, but never a cuttlefish, though my husband did on one of his dives.
    I didn't like your first version, either, Somehow, it was as if they were two separate paintings - both halves perfectly good in their own right, and beautifully executed, but just not 'right' together. But I love the finished version.
    So many thanks for showing us the way you worked through your feelings as well as your art, and for the very important lesson you put across by doing so! 😊

    • @Lachri
      @Lachri  10 месяцев назад

      Yes! They totally felt like two separate paintings! It just did not work together at all! That's so cool you've gotten to see the damsels while snorkeling. After seeing how they treat other fish in aquariums I think I would be more afraid to swim with them than a shark! LOL

    • @MrsBarnabas
      @MrsBarnabas 10 месяцев назад

      @@Lachri HI! These damsels aren't snappy in their own environment of the coral reef. I think it's because there's enough space for each to have its own space? I have been 'nipped' by a Picasso triggerfish though. It only happened once, so I think he was having a bad day. (Picasso triggerfish are my favourite of all the reef fish, I think, closely followed by parrotfish with their iridescent colouring, and the sergeant major damselfish in their blue and yellow stripes!),.
      He'd been tapping on my mask - a lot of fish come and do that to take a look and say "Hello" before going back to graze peacefully, but this little chappie must have been in a bad mood, because the next thing I knew was a nip on my ankle, and there he was, waiting for me to move. The nip didn't cause any problems, and was only like a pin prick, but I decided I'd respect his space and his bad mood, and moved along a little bit. 😄

      I'm using an older one from artograph. They don't make this particular model anymore but Blick.com does have another artograph one that looks very similar. The reviews are kinda not great on it, but the complaints look similar to the complaints I saw people make on my version and I've not had any issues (besides needing them to replace the remote control). The only real challenge was learning how to use it and adjust it as there wasn't much info available there. The projector itself has been awesome though.

I think whoever name them Angel fish did so in jest and had a mean streak. Lol
