The most important thing missing is the ability to leave track, go into setup with current tire data. I never use setup options because I can't remember 4 tires pressures and IMO spreads. I always use factory setup. Brake bias is all I use. To me that takes 1/2 the fun and challenge away. All the rest of the problems you mentioned I can work around Except the one I mentioned.
Very valid point! We need to adjust our tyre pressures with accurate data within the sim. Without third party apps etc. This alone could make or break a setup if the tyre model is as good as they say it is.
Its always interesting watching reviews of sims, everybody's opinion is different on what is good and this needs to be different and that needs more of this or that it happens everytime a sim comes out. When Rennsport comes out it won't be any different. Now you just basically redesigned this whole sim in your opinion ,I agree with some of it but I just play it and enjoy it very much. There will never be a perfect sim it just can't happen.
Tell me..why do you think "it can't happen"? Also it's not about making a game or sim perfect, it's about improving it. Developers get feedback, and work on what needs to be fixed. Assetto Corsa is close to be perfect after all these years that's why people make paid and non paid mods for it still!
I was laughed at on Steam for suggesting some of your top takes. Such as licences and FFB and multiplayer. I would love to drive cars like the Ferrari FXX or Pagani Revolucion. And I think we also need normal Working Class cars we drive in Britain. Such as a forward engine, forward drive Ford Focus/ Fiesta or the monster rear wheel driven, 70’s Escort version in Assetto Corsa that I once drove on this channel. Just a few more day to day cars we would drive ourselves. Just three FWD, front engine, under 100BHP, no turbo or supercharger etc. So most of us can feel like we are sending our own real life cars around Nordschliefe in the sim. There’s a car that is close in AMS2 (128BHP I think) but it seems too powerful. Has TC and ABS etc. Too fancy for me. I play VR exclusively. So performance is important to me as well. I notice frame drops on my i9-12900k in VR at 90fps. It’s quite CPU heavy I’ve found. I also run Crew Chief as well though. Can someone put this list on Steam or better yet the Official Reiza Forums? If not I will do it myself. If he hasn’t done so already.
1:42 I got my triple screen setup perfect in AMS2... however, I did not measure anything... I calculated what the distance to screen measurement should be based on the angle of the side monitors assuming all three monitors are perpendicular to your eyes. This is the only logical way to get the screens to display everything in propertion
@@aubreycolemanracing I recently upgraded to triple 32" setup from a 4K 50" and I was blown away. My ability to judge speed and see further through corners has improved my consistency a lot. I have never tried VR... but I'm sure it is awesome! It's very cool to see how you look into the corners in your videos
VR still feels like diving goggles triples give you nice peripheral view I have both although the depth in VR is nice it still lacks width if that makes sense you still have to move your head way to much to look to the side
Agree with you, as much as I love AMS2. I just wish they would just pick a series or time period and complete it, and not this "here's a little bit of this" and a "little bit of that". Just pick a time period and give us a complete series including tracks even if it had to use fictional makes and locations, painters/skins makers can fix that and they already use fictional names for tracks.
Tyres are available relative to the car you play. if the car in real life only uses wet or dry then in game you can only select those. if, like f1 2021 you have multiple compunds, they are pretty much available in ams2. just keeping it realistic I feel the ffb is amazing, I used custom files, but went back to default + and it fells great
Hello ! I agree with everything you wrote, just with one caveat, the physics and the FFB may not be the most real, but it is the most fun of all simulators, the replay is horrible, as well as the online one, but there are positive points like the VR, the graphics, the change in weather, the variety of types of cars, the FFB is very fun, far above, for example, RaceRoom and ACC that seem lifeless to me, in short, the FFB is very personal. I understand that no simulator is close to reality, far from it. What I recommend are shakers and vibration motors, as well as coolers to simulate a wind tunnel, they give a huge immersion.
For me the ffb in rfactor 2 is best, not saying ams2 ffb is bad, it's great, just rf2 is better. Also in my opinion, there still isn't a great variety of cars in ams2, compared to assetto corsa, which is why ams2 needs easier modding.
Nice video as ever Aubrey. I've just reinstalled AMS2 as I was finding the cars difficult to drive after the last big update (1.4), resetting defaults and deleting local files had no effect. So far the game seems much better although it's very subjective. Have you had any similar experiences with settings and the driving experience after the release of a major update from reiza?
I think they need to fix the cameras position or better give us the chance to actually move the cameras position as we prefer not just the field of view
Yes the cockpit camera... but for all other cameras it's not possible for what I know, it would be awesome to replicate the tv t-cam of every year of f1....I know there is a keyboard combination that unlocks the cameras but you can't save the changes...if you have a solution let me know thanks
While I agree with some of your points regarding multiplayer etc., I don’t really understand what you means about the FFB, it has a ridiculously configurable FFB system via the custom profiles. Yes, this means you have to edit a text file but I you are holding RF2 up as the gold standard that mess of a sim I spend more time in config files than actually driving. The triple screen setup could be nicer if done on track but I do it by editing the triple config file with calculated values and setting as read only. I think it needs more cars in certain classes as they feel a bit thin and lacking when trying to create an immersive experience. But the biggest problem is the quality of some cars, there are some classes that are really well sorted, feel connected and respond to setups across the range of available values, then there are the other half of cars that awful, feel disconnected and require extreme changes of setup to feel better but even then they are obviously not correct. Too much content, not enough quality. AMS2 is actually my second favourite sim but it’s a long way from taking the top spot.
Yep ...some people don't like editing config files, all I'm saying is they can make it easier for people like other sims do. Also RF2 is the leading edge in ffb feel, FOR ME, it feels the best with my set-up.
@@aubreycolemanracing you are right, when setup well RF2 does feel amazing, it does have the best tyre feel. I’ve just had too many issues with RF2 that it’s left me bitter and twisted.
@@lugs118 have you tried it lately? It's got a new user interface, things are getting better for it. All depends on what you want out of a sim I suppose. I also abandoned rf2 for some time, but in thr last 12 months, it's way better now.
@@ueberlicht_ No, not at all. Rf2 has now been added to Low Fuel Motorsports competition network for a reason. So currently it has great online potential. We just need the same to AMS2.
Raceroom has the best physics and ffb including engine vibration and gear shift effects. Very realistic driving feel with connection to the road unlike the floaty feel of AMS2 and over sensitive throttle and braking and weird camera movement.
Question: What would make AMS2 the number one Sim. Answer: Remove every other driving game from human knowledge leaving only AMS2. Physics: A complete overall required currently Forza motorsport is more realistic. Triples I have not tried, I use either single screen or VR, VR is the only acceptable way to play from cockpit view. Multiplayer, I have only ever done a private game with a few friends, general online always appears to be GT3 cars and a choice of a few tracks, I avoid it like the plague. Yes more cars and tracks, ironic how you mention you want more diversity then say more GT3 cars. GT3 and Formula cars are already becoming the cancer of sim racing. Modding support, yes, but any released mod needs to go through some sort of vetting process before being allowed. To much crap doesn't make a good game, it makes a game be full of crap. Tyre selection, I understand the request , but what's the point, the physics suck so much it wouldn't make a difference, Currently slicks handle better than wets in a monsoon with some cars. Recording: Not actually sure what you were asking for here. FFB settings: More adjustability with good explanations of what each settings does, and support for Logitech Trueforce would be nice. So far Forza Motorsport has more adjustable settings to FFB than any other game , and it is only an arcade style racing game. Lastly for me, This applies to EVERY sim game. AI needs improving. Sick of being rammed off the track by AI.
To start with, your sentence is hard to understand! You also tell me I said multiplayer is good? This is not a review of the game, just this that could make it much better.
