As the great team America said: "Freedom isn't free, it costs a hefty fucking fee." These two videos are brilliant by the way, duly subscribed. The standard patterns are still abgreat way of building up muscle memory but theyre so much more useful of you know why they work and how they can be varied without always having to learn a new pattern. Also allows you to understand colours so much better, like the third is what makes a triad major or minor, the flat 5th is the 'blue' note, chromatic intervals work between any whole note gat etc etc I've started to get the hang of basoc music theory but these vids have really helped solidify some fundamental concepts and your presenting style is ace, thank you.
Im glad my videos helped! It makes learning other things so much easier, especially if you want to learn what notes your favourite artists like to go for when soloing etc
@NassorTafari Would love to see you do an analysis of this, btw, and is something I haven't seen from any other guitar RUclipsrs. Like your Stairway in the style of Hendrix - lovely stuff, but what exactly *makes* it Hendrixy? Double stops for sure, pentatonic and blues scales of course but where? What intervals is he consistently hitting? Like saw another video from Guitar Friend Tim (another great channel) pointing out a trill from 4th to flat 5th before dropping down the minor pentatonic to root. Great info, great sound that is instantly applicable anywhere because you know the intervals involved. So yeah, would be amazing if you could do an intevallic analysis of what makes X artist have their distinctive sound.
@@NassorTafari No worries man, no one reads this far into the comments, let alone the sub comments. This is like the appendices of the Lord of the Rings, only the absolute nerds make it this far, hahaha
You are the 1st, who goes smoothly through those sometimes non logical scales. Anyway at least with neatly 60 years I understood finally, after starring through hundreds of "freedomers". Especially from the interval's part. Thanks to share your experience, bro. All the best from Hamburg
Wow, Nass, another outstanding video. You have me reaccessing. What I've learned so far in my one year journey on the guitar. In your last video, you stated that the root is paramount to not lose. @8.10 you are running through the pentatonic scales all over the fretboard. I can do this in reference to the boxes up and down but mine rundown doesn't compare. I couldn't see or believe that your root key was still in play. Okay my question, I am loving what I see with you and the intervals. Are you counting alongside your playing. It seems that would take away some liberty having to count too. Especially if the key changes the root is reset.
When you first start, you have to keep track of the intervals but the more you use it, the more it becomes second nature for you. I would pick a number or two (Maybe 3 or 5 and use them to find 1) For example when im soloing or noodling, I’ll start on 1 maybe, mess around and land on 5. Once im on 5, I know 1 is right above it again. Another example: If my 1 is the 3rd fret of the A string, I will mess around with major pentatonic and land on 3. Which is on the 7th fret A string. Once im there, I know that to find one again. It’ll will be on the 8th fret of the E string if I know my interval shapes. Again it’s all in my E book, you can use NASS20 for a discount😅 But ill do more in depth lessons on this and other stuff on my website memberships.
Wow My Brother Nass! LOVE the booklet. I was going to say I had come across the pattern before and hadn't related to the intervals. However, the more read, the more I saw I was missing a boat load of information. I wish I'd found this when I started. I am going to relearn what I have a fill in what I missed. One question I have is in perspective of the do re mi fa so la ti do. Do you think this is necessary to know with this? Thanks again.
Gabe this stuff is magic, thanks for putting in the work for the humble learners out there!👌
Thank you Ariff!
