- Antony Blinken urged Hamas to swiftly accept Israel's latest and 'extraordinarily generous' proposal for a Gaza truce to secure a release of hostages, at a special meeting of the World Economic Forum held in the Saudi capital Riyadh on Monday.

Hamas negotiators were expected to meet Qatari and Egyptian mediators in Cairo to deliver a response to the phased truce proposal Israel presented at the weekend, ahead of a threatened Israeli assault on the southern border city of Rafah. Blinken also reiterated the US could not support an Israeli ground assault on Rafah 'in the absence of an [Israeli] plan to ensure that civilians will not be harmed'.

The word "generous" underlines that this was never a Conflict or War. It's colonial occupation with a disproportionate power imbalance.

How are the people of Gaza? The majority supports Hamas. The hostages are also largely held by the "people of Gaza".One only needs to watch the videos from the hospital. The hostages were paraded like wild animals - no one stood up and demanded their release. There are also no demonstrations against Hamas or in favor of accepting Israel's proposal.

Where are you Blinken? Hamas accepted the proposal that you talked about, the “extraordinary generous offer on the part of Israel”. I have not seen a comment from Belinken yet on the refusal of Israel of the offer that Hamas grudgingly accepted. Someone has to explain who is being deceptive here.
