Artificial Star Breakdown

Hubble Optics Artificial Star breakdown and overview. The Artificial Star is used for collimating SCT telescopes. This video I go over the construction of the artificial star that can be ordered from www.hubbleoptic.... I also show video of the thing at work.

so a flash light + aluminium foil with a pin point size hole will just do the trick?

Lawrence Mok Yeah, I can't see why not. There is really nothing to it. I guess you just pay for the convenience of different sized stars in a single flashlight.

Remember, depending on the aperture of your mirror you’ll have to put it at a certain minimum distance away from your scope to collimate it properly.
