This is the fucking best how to video ever 😂
Well Will Im glad you fucking enjoyed it! 😘
Came here to say this!
Makes doing servicing fun with the amazing commentary 😂
You're telling me you don't enjoy 28 minute poorly lit service videos filmed with a toaster and a dry as a desert commentary? 😳
i fucking love it the jokes are amazing bro. dont let it out on your significant other had me dying keep it up @@Frorideism
@@TheBackyardBiker Haha! Glad to hear it dude, It's all fun and games, I enjoy adding random shit to the videos.
That joke actually had a second part to it that was.. a bit darker 😆...Buuuut had to edit that out
@@Frorideismi come back here every 2 months to watch it again and pay my respects to this master piece its bloody beautiful
@@TheBackyardBiker haha that's insane dude, hopefully will get some other similar video out soon 😘
I really like the ice tray organiser idea, I'd never thought of it before, its a great ghetto solution (and probably as good as any 'professional' solution) for keeping small parts together where you left them and at the same time minimising hydraulic fluid egress 👍
I'll trade you "use knitting needle protectors on your picks" to protect the tip if you drop it on the floor and so you don't accidentally stab yourself.
Gonna be selling out!
Ohh yeah probably a good idea, nice, haven't stabbed myself yet but I do often ungracefully dig around in the toolbox with them in it 🤔
After reading some of the comments, bro! , this is one of those videos with regards to a bike that I have not done yet, pretty much everything else, rebuilding forks, BB removal and clean, derailleur fitment and adjustment, everything else even rebuilding wheels with spokes and hub and balancing etc ... but not this. Thanks man. You the best Froride'er. :))
Thanks dude, glad you enjoyed the video ✌️
@@Frorideism legend. Got my new tools en route to be delivered 😄
Big thanks for this! I picked up a pair of used v4’s, your video helped me immensely with the decision to go with the used set and eventual cleaning and replacing of some small parts.
Love these brakes though, super super easy to service! Maybe only exception was getting those damn pistons out.
Thanks again for a great how-to!
Nice man! Yeah I mean with proper servicing if nothing's actually broken a used pair should be just as good as a new one,
Thanks for watching dude
I so wish I'd thought about the piston removal sequence before servicing my E4 brakes. It's really really important. Once one piston pops out you lose hydraulic pressure and you're left wondering how to remove the others. You definitely have to remove the pistons on the inside first - definitely.
Awh shit yeah that's a headache
Very good work and very detailed maintenance.
Yeah I felt that the videos up on youtube on this type of service were either too long, too boring or filmed with a potato in someone's darkly lit basement.
Also they typically focus on either caliper or lever, not both.
Thanks for watching fellow!
always remember to inhale the fumes. very important 🤣
Got to get something for all the hard work' 🙄
Great video, I’ll be using this as a guide to service my hope e4 callipers this afternoon.
I wasn’t ready for the bit where you started talking about not drop kicking your wife! 😂😂 Caught me off guard! 😂
Hope it went well my dude!
Btw. Hope does provide a bunch of useful files for printing 3D tools. Plus a little investigation on the internet will provide you also with the bore cap removal tool.
nice tutorial. hope brakes are made with such quality they are so nice to work on . A pleasure to keep working well. I Got some Hayes Dominions on my new bike . People keep telling how good they are , they may be just as good if not better. They are however very ugly and don't have the same presence on my bike as the hopes. I will give them 1 month to impress me otherwise the hopes will be moving in.
Presence is key!
Dominions are nice have not ridden them though, aesthetically I really like Saints to be honest, but yes hard to compete with the Hopes
Thank you men perfect video 👍🏻👌🏻
This video is just great
Thanks so much for this vid. I'm gonna do a full service and bleed today I think. But I'm confused about your issue in the first 30 seconds. The pads fell out or broke or something? They're super burly and the cotter pin both screws in and has wire stop. I've actually lost the wire stop thing and just used a touch of blue thread locker on one of my brakes. Still solid as a rock.
Good thing you brought the Biltema tools. Imagine not having Biltema!
No idea what I would have done with my life if I didn't bring them
your foxp2 gene is working fine.
😉
Definitely liked the kung fu hustle pun!
😉😉
Love your service vids, just looking for a decent price on a pair. Regards from the U.K.
Cheers! 👌
Great video, cheers
Thankkkkk youuuuuu 🎉🎉❤ my guy this video >>>>>
I don't have hope calipers, brakes or bikes but I came here after googling toothpick on a stick.
Completely reasonable thing to search for 👌
Brilliant & hilarious. Love it!! :D
Thanks Neil ❤️
I wouldn’t put anything except DOT fluid on the seals. DOT is what lubricates the seals in this case, with shimano and magura it would be mineral oil. If you want to greatly extend the life of your brakes you should lube the oil seals at least once a year. A few tiny drops of braking liquid, corespondent to the brakes, per seal followed by “half-pull” tbe levers a dozen times to make sure everything is lubricated, then push the pistons into the brakes and wipe the brake clean with a little of alcohol.
Preferably you will do this once or twice a year, when bleeding or changing pads.
Very useful thanks!!
The golden eloxal Banjio Part at the end of the brake hose, is enough Color on my Saint brake caliper. Especially after the first few hours of use, when they start getting dirty by Nature........ 🤣👌‼️
Saint's are beauties! Hand down one of my favoritely designed brake calipers, has that sort of muscle aesthetic, you're excused not using color! 😉
@@Frorideism OK, all cool! I'm a bike mech from Munich, I'm doing DH Bike park hobby ride since 2011, spec. Demo 8, since 2017 with a Scott Gambler 710. But if you buy something from your store, it's always a bit cheaper, you know.
So, no criticism about good, expensive bikes🤣‼️
But I have one question, how much did you spend on the complete hope bike? Of course, I like my Fox 40 Kashima, for the performance and the Optik! Or my Öhlins TTx 22m coil spring shock, 2014 for my demo 8 frame as well. But, for me, all bikes with original prices over 6 or 7 thousand € or $, are developing in the wrong direction. You take care about the clean shinning beautiful color parts of your bike. I'm glad and happy, when I return from a weekend in Leogang ( Austrian Neighborhood) or Geißkopf ( Bavarian bike park), without any broken parts. Bike parts or body parts. And because of that, it's not really useful, if all bikes costs 10000 or 12000 or 14000 €. Exept the bike company's, as long somebody is buying their expensive stuff, each year.
But, that's my opinion about the price Politik. I also always like the newest and best stuff, but there should be some normal money amount enough 😂😂🤑😂😂😂😂
"this is some high end shii" 😂😂
😂
Yall know we're on the top production quality 💯🦅
Such a build
Osv osv, 😘
You don’t need excessive force, you can leave that to the police 😂🤣🤣👏
🤫🤫
This line was worth the entry price! :D
Pro tip: if the light is bad and you have the advantage to have some sort of power supply... turn the light on in your flat :D
The what supply? And it turns on the what in my what?
I don't know dude I just go by the sun most of the time
The swedish accent LOL!
I'm trying to guess your accent. I'm going with Finnish. Or German.
What is the part number of the service kit?? Thanks - can’t find it anywhere…
Hey buddie! Im not sure if there's a full one, i had to get the seals and pistons seperately!
Here goes:
Hope tech3 seal kit complete - HBSPC59 :T3
Tech 3 master cylinder piston -
HBSP317
Cylinder clip -
Hbsp311
Pistons -
HBSP136
Bore cap tool -

Hope that helps my friend!
Thanks - 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽
Did the caliper part about 6 months ago but didn’t do the lever!!! No wonder they were still wonkey -
@@thenicotennis Ah! Yeah lever's good to service too! :)
Not sure about the specific seals in there, but the master piston comes with all seals needed for piston service at least! GL
can you convert to mineral oil ?
Pretty sure that will kill the seals,
I mean, not the aquatic one's but the rubber one's inside your brakes 👍
I did and was total failure. After all your seals and diagraph are gering bigger. Like the toys you put in water and suck it up. But now when you dry your seals they stay big😂
I fixed my diagraph with a cut out tube when i was in winterberg because they dont have hope spare parts nearby
You can if you replace the seals with the mineral oil seals from hope or a seal dealer
🎉
@@BarbarishFTW🤔
You should really be wearing gloves when working with DOT.
Hydraulic oil...wear gloves... that stuff can totally ruin your fingernails.
Oh no not my fingernails! :D
@@Frorideism not so funny when the nail turns all white and brittle and almost falls off after getting in touch with that stuff. May take month to regrow. Rather annoying tbh... Depending on if its SRAM, Shimano or any other oil it is very corrosive toy our skin as well. I go for gloves next time.
Any bleed tutorial? Having hard time bleeding
Check the link to Hope's guide, let me know if you're stuck anywhere, I'm a bleed-mastah! but have not posted any guide.
