@@michaelroberts7770 that's mainly because the infant mortality rate was so high. If you lived into your teenage years, you could live to be quite old. If you lived through childhood, you'd make it to your 60's on average. So far older than the average life span, but still young enough that cognitive impairments weren't really an issue for most people.

I think it's interesting to point out that this guy (Geraldo) is the same age as Biden. Compare the mental acuity, ability to speak clearly, vigor, and mental sharpness that Geraldo displays compared to Biden. Do you think Biden would have been able to make these comments on TV like this?
