As an Englishman I must say that Scotland is a beautiful place to visit and I love going up there. Favourite place - St Andrews where I go to play golf for three days each year.
We went over to Glenrothes last week, did not make it to St Andrews but that gives us a good reason to go again. It is beautiful, but there are lots of beautiful places in the rest of the UK, the main thing though... there is not as many people about, nor as many vehicles . A cafe we visitred at erm Kingshorn ! it took them a while to make our lunch, I was on my second latte by the time lunch arrived, then again we were not booted out to make room. The best bit about driving around Scotland, for the vast majority of the time you can forget about who is running the country, or is that ruining ! Our next trip is going to be somewhere in the middle about 60 miles north of Glasgow, or go a bit further towards Ben Nevis ! Partners family come from Cromaty, so I have to pop up there !
Doing my bit for my hometown tourist trade since you mentioned St Andrews but have you visited Anstruther and the neighbouring villages yet? My favourite part of Britain. You're right about the weather. We were there in 2018 and I was melting while having a Scottish breakfast from Flossie's at Clachtoll. Also enjoyed some pies at Lochinver.
