what happen next is we all continue to play mtg regardless who in charged end of story.
This is a bad move for us, WoTC only cares about making money not making a good game, they will just make more super rare cards that are OP AF and not ban them because they sell packs.
YUP! Anybody who thinks this is a good thing is huffing serious copium. They dont care about the health of the format they care about appeasing the shareholders. They will print pushed cards that warp the format and instead of banning them they will use them as chase cards to push more sets. Take a look at the formats WOTC is in charge of...how healthy are those formats?
The ranking system isnt terrible of an idea however it needs to be more in depth than 1 card. Each card needs a point system with multipliers with combo lines. The points totals should fall into tiers for example 100-200 would be low tier 201-400 would be mid tier 401+ should be high tier. While this would take years to sort out this would be the only feasible way to actually accurately tell power levels.
time to consider bringing EDH back as a separate format.
This is very clearly a bad thing for the format, it’s been this successful in part to a lack of oversight
The RC proved they could not be trusted to handle the format in a way that is healthy for players, collectors, and local game stores. WOTC and the collectability of the cards have kept this game relevant for thirty years; the RC couldn’t handle one year without their founder.
@@dicegamer3466that's not true at all. While they werent perfect and made mistakes EDH is the most popular format for a reason and a large part of that is because of the RC.
@@dicegamer3466 see that’s the thing though, that’s not true. I personally agree with the bands, so single handedly I have disproven your theory that they messed up and can’t be trusted. You don’t speak for everyone, stop pretending your limited view is the entire view
That is interesting! I am excited to make different decks of each level!
Wizards released a Commander Masters and Commander legends. Why dont they release a Pauper Masters which only has common cards ?
@@slighguytv5903 because it won't sell
CRC if I read it correctly. They will still have influence over it but it is in house on face. I think the reason why is because they want to be a scapegoat and not specific people who are massively online presence.
The system is flawed. It shouldn't be based on the HIGHEST level but rather the overall of it. Like some hurt decks like rowan and gev, ancient tomb isn't stupid overpowered but helps the deck function on a land, same with mana confluence.
@@BadPainYatta i feel that, but it helps when nobody knows what a 7 is
@@BadPainYattano it should be on the highest level. If you have AT and only AT it's easy to just side it out. This basically encourages decks to be more in line with each other as much as possible.
You need Tithe on your deck? Then make sure you gear your deck for the PL of Tithe.
@@ronelm2000 Than saying every deck should be able to function if they wanna play with good cards. They have to be able to compete cEDH decks. Your Tuvasa enchantress deck has to compete with WUBRG sisay midrange pile, tutor chain where every single one of the best cards are used. It should be an overall amount than the highest because than that would lead to more confusion. It is more tedious this way but it helps set a president for like hey, this deck 3.6 tells you the average card in there is a 3 but they play with 4's but they also play with 2's and 1's.
I think the power level should be one to five, anything on the banned list would be considered automatic power level 5, just my thoughts
I called this back when the ban happened on the preview companion. That wizards was trying to push things out that influence the format so much that the RC would have to either evolve or the scrutiny would push for US as players to beg for wizards to take the banlist in house. I am surprised it took this long... but then again the RC never did act very fast.
What I worry about now is that bans will happen before a pushed set with replacements for said bans. It might happen obviously once and then quietly after. (My prediction is that the first ban changes will be nothing and then the second wave will be to push a set... backlash will happen and then even when they do it again people won't really take note)
Also side note, I do not think ancient tomb should be a power four level card, at best its power level three at worst is power level 2
Nah AT should be PL1
Casual decks with 5 tier 4 cards lol
so they removed the puppets?
Adding one mana crypt to a deck does not make it a 4
@@illhavethesoup don't put a mana crypt in a deck that isn't a 4
i agree with you big dog hope they ban all the salty cards and make the game more transparent for casuals
Keep the salty cards but put them at one of the higher brackets so they are filtered out of games where they are unwelcome
@@elderdingushighlanderI disagree because some of these unfun cards aren’t broken on their own but with certain combos they are so obnoxious. Some people just don’t know how to have fun and play casually without someone holding their hand or policing them like wotc going to be doing
@@OhMightyONE234 You can't always try to hand hold every casual player. They always can just say I don't play against you. There should be no cards banned only because some snowflakes getting salty.
@@CatNoirVRdisagree
lost me at 30 sec
Just don't allow it as a community. GATHER and make a new RC. Can't give all the power to WotC.
Yeah. This video is all bad takes. Save your time
Care to elaborate?
Definitely not Primeval Titan. Nobody likes waiting for library searching.
This is a terrible move for both the player base and the general eye of the public. Allow me to explain why
#1) Wizards of the Coast has run every other format into the ground, Standard's now a broken mess as they keep printing ridiculous card after ridiculous card in the newer released sets, they say it's a healthy format but it's a lie.
#2) Both Modern and Legacy have basically become a visage of it's former self, with both the Modern Horizons products they keep releasing, looking at you the cycle of evoke spells.
#3) They have already been monetizing the hell out of commander as a whole, they just now have full control to do as they wish for the format, hell thus why we saw cards like Command Tower/Jeweled Lotus/Commander's Sphere printed, 2 out of the 3 being popular cards for the format. If you think this is good unfortunately it's not good at all, in fact this may spell the end of Commander/EDH as a whole officially.
You haven't been around Magic long enough if you really think that WOTC controlling EDH is a good thing. This is the worst-case scenario, and I'm glad that I sold out of magic last month right before the bans.
Simple answer is we the players need to take back edh. Personally im all for a casual commander/edh with a larger ban list to keep it casual.
Then we create a hi power/cedh format with a smaller more narrow list. Ban only the most broken stuff (nadu, power 9, protein hulk instead of flash, you get the idea)
Because we all know wizards will print insane chase cards that will break commander and they will not ban them until they make enough off them first.
Also the tier list is idiotic. Just because my elfball deck runs a ancient tomb its now a 4? The deck would likely be a 2 at best without a tomb in it.
Instead of having these idiotic tiers they should just split commander into 2 formats as i mentioned above.
Only way you can keep commander casual and keep pub stomping decks is to give those players a sandbox to play in and ban more of the powerful cards from commander. Draw a line in the stand so people understand what commander is and what cedh/hi power is.
Insane that they can just hand over the format. Why wasnt there a succession plan in place? I get not wanting to deal with death threats but im sure there are people out there that would have stepped up to do this job. Instead they handed ot to Wotc. If they thought banning these cards was for the good of the format then givong control to Wotc will have the opposite effect. No way wizards makes these same bans :(
We need someone new to step up and create a new RC!
I personally disagree with the bans and would love to see more come off the ban list
@@elderdingushighlander I'm not sure I fully agreed with them either as we had already basically soft banned them in our group and it worked fine. My point is that the RC was doing what they thought was best for the format. Wizards will always have two masters and the one they are legally obligated to feed is the shareholders. I'd rather have someone that honestly was doing what they thought was best than someone who in the short term agrees with me but may make decisions not in my interest in the future
I completely disagree that certain cards should t be in certain decks. Who is anyone to tell someone they can’t have a few powerful cards in their mediocre deck?
Whats next? Lawsuits
