Thanks for this review. I was researching the issue with the glued bicep joints on the Batman figure and found your video very helpful. When I was first testing all the joints on my Batman figure a few days ago, both arms came unglued as I tried to swivel the bicep joints (because I assumed they were meant to move like EVERY other McFarlane DC figure). I can glue them back so that the figure is as good as it was right out of the package, but it's severely disappointing that this amazing figure has such a critical design flaw that made it all the way into mass production. I would like to see some sort of recall or option for arm replacements from McFarlane if it would be possible just to pop off the arms at the shoulder joint and put on new, better-designed arms.
@Ashley Wilbanks I had the opposite problem, my biceps were glued to the joint, and sadly this happened to 2 of them , I got 2 batman figures and both had this issue 😢
I'm really happy to find your review, as I'm definitelly passing on this whole wave. I've seen about 30 different reviews... But your honesty made me feel thankful! Rushed products don't deliver.
I’m super excited to get this set as a fan of TDK trilogy. I hate to see your experience with them in hand was relatively negative but appreciate your honesty. I know they have flaws that aren’t just going to be isolated to your set, but for the price point we don’t have any other options for this scale outside SHF/Mafex/Soap Studios. I guess I’m just thankful McFarlane took a swing at them.
3 batarangs and grappling gun, but only single grabbing hand. Wtf. Why can't we just get alternate hands for him and Joker. I don't like them having punching hands. Also, Scarecrows hands apparently fit Two-Face as well so you can replace coin hand with any Scarecrow left hand you want.
The Batman I received today, doesn't even have a biceps swivel its stuck fast. I haven't had had much of a chance to work on it. It feels like I'm gonna break it.
@The DC Collector I tried both of those it didn't work. I had to rip the right arm off and all in the joint and under the pauldron there was glue. But the left will not budge.
Both my Batman & Joker arms broke out of packaging. Very bummed & I hope McFarlane can reach out for replacement. The wave is full of QC issues except for Two-Face
Sorry to hear that. The quality on this whole wave is less than what we are used to from McFarlane Toys. Although these issues are easily fixable, I don't like having to "doctor" my toys out of the box.
Is it broken or is it just not connecting well? I've had the same issue with some of my Marvel Legends in the past as well. The socket was too loose for the peg and the figure's arm keeps popping off.
McFarlane QC is all over the place - I bought the Batman Year Two set and both arms broke in the exact same spot right out of the box as your TDK figure, got a replacement and that broke immediately to so in the end had to return him :(
Personally speaking, I think they should have made these deluxe figures -- Batman * Alternate Bruce Wayne Head Joker * Actual weapons Scarecrow * Alternate Jonathan Crane head Two-Face * Alternate Harvey Dent head * Revolver Otherwise, I think they're decent figures despite the lack of accessories/weapons.
Thanks for the great review! I’m curious on Batman’s arms if you have tried heating it up at all? Maybe the socket is warped and not holing on properly? Or is it a case of bad design? I have seen a few reviews and some note that issue, but others don’t have that issue at all. Thanks again!
The holes on mine were a little big. After hot water and some pressure the arms stay in better, they can still come if with pressure but not as bad as out of the package.
I’m definitely getting this wave but I wish we got Catwoman and Ras Al Ghul and The Batman Begins suit. I say Mattel did a better Job with the Dark Knight Trilogy figures. Let’s not forget Mafex of course.

My only other issue was with the animated Cyborg and his arm fell off out of the box. The inner rim that holds the arm in was broken. That was it, until these...
My only problem was with the Dark Knight Returns Armored Batman. His knee pad fell off and had to stress myself out putting the tiniest amount of super glue to get it back on, and not get any on the joints.
I've bought all these hoping they're not going to have these issues. Also bought the Macfarlane Flash set with BatMobile and BatWing. Much cheaper than NECA but NECA are expensive for what they are just over prised figures.
TDK Batnan head sculpt is good but needs a cloth cape, Scaregrow has a good paint app but all of them needs better paint application and too bad for the joints tho its better than breakage but still it should have not just pop off easily - ill just be getting TDK on this set and have him customized - great vid
Mcfarlane already ripped off the hip joints used in Gunpla (MG/RG) they should have copied more and allow the thighs to be extended a little bit to get more articulation so that the figure can easily do the superhero landing. They also copied the ball joints from kotobukiya. Been building gunpla for almost a decade now and some kotobukiya and was surprised to see the gunpla like joints being used in mcfarlane figures when I disassembled it.
@@AshleyWilbanks If they can improve the hip joint I think they'll easily beat the competition in articulation. In some kits like the figurise standard kits (waifu kits) you can lower the joint and in some MG kits you can even lock it in place. This level of articulation allows you to do some insane poses. The rear view will look weird but front view = 10/10

Love this review and can’t wait to get my figures, although I am absolutely gutted about the arms on Batman and fingers crossed I don’t have the same issue with my purchase, do you think you’ll lodge a query with Mcfarlane for a replacement based on that fault???
I mean like you say, the figure itself does look absolutely awesome but for that to happen right out of the box just isn’t right, I wonder whether many other collectors are having the same QC issue.
When it comes to Two Face I saw a post on Facebook yesterday where someone had used Scarecrows alternate hands to swap out Two Faces coin holding hand for a weapon wielding hand and this seems to have worked.
Once again awesome content and a great look at a wave I personally have been desperate for and still can’t wait to get in hand.
Great work and kind regards.👏🏼🫶🏼👍🏼
Thanks K3V1NTLL! I probably won’t contact them. Will keep just as it is. I don’t tend to do much with them anyway, other than have them look cool on a shelf :)
