There is no way the Cardinals will trade the fourth overall pick for less than 3 first-round picks. They know it's for a QB and they will want 3 firsts. They would be stupid to trade for two firsts when the potential best receiver for the next decade in Harrison is sitting there for them.

      Are you a Viking fan??
Can you tell me what having the best WR in all of football has done for the Vikings these past 4 years ????
Okay, so how is ARZ going to benefit on waisting the #4 overall pick on a WR that MIGHT, be elite???
Also, isn’t this one of the deepest WR classes ever???
Furthermore, is kyler Better than Kirk ???
      Is Arz better than Minn???

Sometimes you gotta give up a lot to get your guy. If koc really likes maye or Daniels you should move up and get the guy he wants. I dont like the idea that we are ok just taking whatever qb is left at 4. Id rather see them pursue a specific player, showing they see something in him and have a plan. Just accepting the scraps is a weird way to go about it. I seriously doubt they feel the same about the top 4 qbs. Vikings have never moved up aggressively to get "their" guy. This is the perfect time to do so.

I’ve been thinking about this angle as a possibility. What if who he likes is Penix the most, would they be giving up alot or be a reach to grab him at 11 if they feel he’s “the guy”? I hope they go after whoever they like but are we even sure they like one of the “top 4”? I know we all want the same thing in the best QB they can get at all cost and finally have a franchise QB but are any of us sure about who that is? Trading alot of assets doesn’t make who we pick better, it’s about picking the right guy, maybe that guy isn’t who we think we should get? All this speculation and talk is driving me crazy lol, can’t wait to for the draft! Wish it was here already! SKOL!

Are we even sure the Vikings even want to trade up? I know this thought triggers a lot of listeners but what if it’s possible they are sold on Penix? And are doing extra research on McCarthy and Maye to make sure they aren’t missing something on them? To make sure if it’s worth to trade multiple firsts to grab one? Grabbing that 23 pick was maybe to ensure they can just grab Penix at 11 and use the 23 or package the 23 with a few day 3 picks to move up a few spots and grab a DT? If it’s not a reach to trade multiple firsts to move up and grab one of the “top 4” if they like one, then it wouldn’t be a reach to just grab Penix at 11 if that’s the guy they think they like and think that can be the franchise? I believe KOC feels he can coach any of these guys he feels he likes and Kwesi is about value so this might make the most sense and still have next year’s first!

The PFF final grade is probably calculating draft picks for team needs and fit. They also may be calculating the necessary talent level to fill the team need. That meaning, if one picks a player that projects as a backup and the team NEEDS depth at the position, one might get a slight overall bonus. We need a starting QB, so even though we reached for JJ, PFF may see it as SUCH a team need that the overall grade puts a bonus on the overall grade.

As someone who would be down to cough up (4) 1st rounders to go up to #2 and get Jayden Daniels, I totally understand Thor and Mackey on this. If KO feels he and his staff can develop what they view is a plethora of young talent, then of course use that opportunity to not give up excess draft capital prematurely!
Also, I like that they haven't made a move yet, I think you all alluded to it before, but they have obviously been calling teams and didn't like the 'ask' and are willing to allow time (t) to increase now that they have more 2024 1st round capital to play with. I can see the Vikes resuming activity on draft day, but after the clock starts who knows. Should be a fun day 1!

What if the Vikings trade their 2026 first instead of their 2025 first? They have a ton of cap space going into the 2025 season and should be better then... it also splits a difference between "overpaying" and not getting the deal done potentially.
Also, the 2025 pick may be extremely valuable... but I don't think giving that pick up will set the franchise back nearly as long as picking the wrong QB would.

  • @First_and_skol
    @First_and_skol 2 месяца назад

ARI would make this trade in a split second since they'd take MHJ at #5 and essentially get a free added R1 out of it when they would have still gotten their guy at #4.
As for us, the question is whether you believe Darnold could ascent to a Kirk-like level in the next 2 years. That would make him the same age as Kirk when we first signed him. I'd rather gamble on having a Kirk-like QB who's already proven himself in the NFL. Take MHJ at #4 then go RB, DT, CB, and G with R4,R4,R5,R5. Last 3 picks are fliers and a kicker for competition. If you think MHJ is a likely HOFer based on size, skill, and production, then take him. Last time we had 2 HOF receivers on the same team we were 1 FG away from going to the SB (98). It's a passing league, and it's even harder on defenses now. Who's going to throw to them? Darnold, or the next guy. Mayfield and Goff were both close to a SB last year, and Purdy did go.
Imagine if Darnold impresses and we re-sign him for half of what we would have paid Kirk AND we have JJ, MHJ, Addison, Hock, re-built trenches, and a great D by 2025. If Darnold doesn't impress, you still have all of the above without your QBOTF. Then find him in 2025. You'll have your 1st rounder and 100+ mil in FA cash. Turns out the HOF and Pro Bowl are filled with QBs of nearly every year going back to 1960.

They won 3 games in half a season with QBs far worse than Darnold just last year and have improved the roster as well. Additionally not a single QB next year is rated as high as any of the top 4 this year.
