    Lovely place ⛱️. Differs from most , also island esorts nearby Phuket.
    The updates done in hotel looks seamless.
    This place should be added to bucket list. We are visiting Phuket later on this year, but stay on mainland.
    Thank you for a detailed info package. 🙏.

    Hi Kevin, thank you for your videos - very enjoyable and informative, I’ve watched quite a few of them 😊. Could I please suggest to add the month of your visit so that it’s more understandable what to expect in this month, particularly if out of high season. It’s indicated on some videos but not all. Another thing is to indicate how many nights you’ve spent in a hotel. For example, in this one did you stay more than one night? It gives a better understanding of your experience. Feedback on pool/sea swimming or just being in them is also very much appreciated. It’s interesting to know a bit about your background and where the hotel knowledge comes from! Thanks again! 😊

    • @tfft
      @tfft  3 месяца назад +1

      Thanks very much, but the month or at the very least, season, is in every hotel video's opening graphic- including this one. 95% of reviews are of hotels that I stay at for one night, which actually turns out higher quality videos, with a crunch on time for me.
      As for back story, with videos starting tonight actually, from now on there will be a QR core in the opening (and link in the description) which has some background info on me. Thanks for watching 🩴

    The ocean view pool villas at his resort are amazing. You seldom find a villa that offers both complete privacy and sweeping views of the water and distant fishing boats. I agree with your comment - if you can splurge on a room upgrade at this property do it!

    • @tfft
      @tfft  2 года назад

      Yes! So many hotels are about the hotel atmosphere, so any room will be fine. Here, it’s about your own private world- reason enough to never leave the villa! ☺️ Thanks for watching 🙏🏻

      so we just stayed here and in our opinion it was fine but not outstanding at all. i’m actually kind of surprised you seemed so enamored with the place. personal tastes differ i guess and we were just not loving the “hi-so summer camp” vibe at all. (unpainted wood chip board exterior ceilings everywhere do not scream “luxury”). while our upgrade to a seaview pool villa was much appreciated, it had a couple maintenance issues, was in need of some paint and renovation, and we really disliked the non a/c bathroom situation. the landscaping and grounds needed quite some attention as well. we found food at breakfast along with my grill and rum chapel to be meh. and service, while well-intentioned and friendly was so-so in terms of execution. anywho, glad you enjoyed it as i always like to hear about bonvoy hotels doing well but based on our experience, given the relative high cost of naka island versus other options, i doubt we’ll go back.

    • @tfft
      @tfft  2 года назад +1

      You’re right that tastes differ and it is a “barefoot” type of luxury- of everything you mentioned I’m just most surprised the grounds weren’t up scruff for you.
      For my scores and opinions, they are always relative to the price I pay. This is the only way I can have a sort of level playing field and be able to have hotels that cost $50 and $500 on the same channel. If I paid $1000/night (for example) I wouldn’t necessarily have the same opinion of this or any other hotel- that’s why I publish the price I paid and how I booked in the video into.
      Either way though, it’s a missed opportunity on their part- hopefully whatever kinks they’re going through at the moment are just temporary- and do hope you enjoyed your time in Phuket overall. Thanks for the feedback!

      @@tfft yeah, it felt like the gardeners had taken a couple weeks off or something and all the plants were a little overgrown, the grass needed raking to get rid of dead leaves and other detritus, and the sandy areas were all kinda blah. perhaps i’m just being too picky in terms of my expectations for “barefoot luxury” / “hi-so summer camp”… along those lines, upon reflecting more about it, i think the missus and i are just more traditional hotel types. our frame of reference was having gone to naka island after a couple days at the st regis in bangkok and really enjoying it. maybe i’m more of a traditional luxury old man than i thought. :-)
      we live in chiang mai and get around the country often so i really appreciate your content. you really do an excellent job with reviews (the production values and editing are a cut above) and i will definitely be using them as a resource when considering places to stay. keep up the great work!

    This resort my idea of relaxation, at full capacity yet you hardly see any other guests that's clever design and layout! I like that they put the cold foods in a cool room those pesky little bugs will certainly turn you off those slices of fruit really quick. Overall gave me the Maldives vibe without the cost👍 (I know lm a little behind on your uploads but l don't want to just play them and power through l want to actually enjoy the video and take it all in)

    Hi enjoyed watching your video and loved the minute details you have mentioned about the property.. planing to visit the property In may end, want to know weather condition in may and is it a good time to visit?

    • @tfft
      @tfft  2 года назад

      Unfortunately May is the beginning of the southwest monsoon (rainy season) in Thailand and southern Indochine. While it won’t be raining all day you’ll probably get an afternoon shower just about everyday with cloudy skies for a good chunk of the day. Best months for Phuket are December through March. In May, sometimes you can get lucky but I’m in Saigon now and I can say that the new monsoon started just 3 days ago with a big increase in clouds and wind, so I expect it to be the same in timing Phuket. Can you offer some insight as to the ease of commuting to the mainland for a night out? (eg. freq of boat shuttles, cost, last/first boat) Thanks.

    • @tfft
      @tfft  2 года назад +1

      The shuttle runs throughout the day- every 30 minutes in each direction- I am sure the last boat of the day changes with the seasons so you'd need to check on that with them, but, I don't think getting to the mainland would be your problem. Naka is on the east side of the island, almost all tourist facilities are on the west. From the Marina to Naithon would be a 30 minute drive, 40 to Bang Tao, 50 to Kamala, 60 to Patong and so on. My suggestion would be either to: 1. Plan a trip to Naka but plan all or almost all of your dinners at the resort. or 2. Split your holiday between Naka and a resort on the mainland where by you'd only eat at the resort at Naka and can explore a bit around the mainland when you're there. Thanks for watching.

    Thank you for the effort that you put into this.Given that there are so many beautiful resorts and locations in Phuket, do you think one day/ night here would be sufficient to fully appreciate the resort before moving to another resort and location in Phuket?

    • @tfft
      @tfft  2 года назад +1

      Contrary to the vast majority of travelers I do think 1 night is enough (if necessary) to experience many resorts- for Naka though, I’d say it’s a bit difficult as you’ll probably have a round trip travel time of around 2 hours from and to where ever your other stops were. If you could secure a 12:00 checkin and 16:00 checkout, I’d say that’s the shortest time frame I’d choose to be there. I myself was there for two nights and felt it was just about right. I’ve booked our stay at the end of May. Super excited after watching your review of the resort. Couldn’t decide between Melia Mai Khao(love their aesthetic rooms) and Naka but decided to go with Naka as you made it sound like a no brainer.☺️
    My only concern is the beach, I love a beautiful beach so I really hope this one is not gonna be one of those stoney rocky ones.😒
    Really hope its nice x

    • @tfft
      @tfft  2 года назад +2

      While Mai Khao is a spectacular beach- if we’re talking about the “full package” I think you’ve made the right choice. Naka’s beach definitely isn’t rocky, it’s just those huge tidal fluctuations that at times make it less desirable. For all I know though, maybe that’s just a winter thing. Also keep in mind there are other beaches on Naka Island that you can walk or bike to as well. Hope you have a great time and thanks for watching 🙏🏻

      I have 56 hotel/flight reviews published on RUclips with a further 18 in the process of being edited. Out of all of them, 3 were critical overall.
