이별을 준비하는 마음으로
I wanted to write a song that feels like a breakup, but isn't really one. You know, as I live my life, not everything goes according to plan. For every joyful moment, there’s been a sad one, and for everything I've achieved, I've lost something too. But I feel like, as long as we can hold hands and embrace each other, we can get through it all somehow.
I wanted to sing this song with my wife, but convincing her wasn’t easy since it’s a breakup song. But once we recorded it, she ended up singing it so beautifully.
이별 같은데, 사실은 이별이 아닌 그런 노래를 한번 써보고 싶었어. 살다 보니 모든 게 내 계획대로 흘러가진 않더라고. 기뻤던 만큼 슬픈 일도 많았고, 이룬 만큼 잃은 것도 많았지. 하지만 함께 손을 잡고 서로를 안아줄 수만 있다면, 그렇게 그럭저럭 살아갈 수 있지 않을까 하는 마음을 담아봤어.
이 노래를 아내와 함께 부르고 싶었는데, 이별 노래라서 부르기 싫다는 아내를 설득하는 게 좀 힘들었어. 그런데 막상 녹음해 보니까, 정말 아름답게 불렀더라.
