I have always had this conception that cinema cameras is something you need to have a pro level of experience and knowledge to use it , but this camera seems like a more easy to learn camera and more accustomed to youtubers looking for a higher quality cinema camera ( and it would be an even more ideal camera for youtubers if the price isn’t as expensive as more traditional cinema cameras )
I’m just curious at $7,199 for base entry do you see a use case to justify buying this for your company? This thing is cool but would you buy it? Edit, after watching the full video damn this is cool for people who have a use and the money.
I've watched probably like 7 reviews of this camera this morning, including the Dope Squad, and I think this is my favorite. Chris you really went above and beyond with your knowledge, application, and overview of both big-picture and Quality of Life features on this camera. Great job man.
Our minds are officially blown.. ngl we thought this was just going to be a gimmick at first, but if this genuinely has a good final image that matches it's competitors in terms of dynamic range and colour science, then this is an insane addition to the amazing gear the already exists nowadays! :)
Video quality definitely not as good as Sony a7s iii, but what it really nailed is that with Ronin 4D, one cameraman could do a job that needs 4-5 people to collaborate together on a traditional cinema camera. A game changer
@@umi_guratori Exactly that, but then you could say is that a bad thing? Are they taking industry jobs away by doing this? Although I guess the focus puller will never lose it's job because even though one person could do it all, multitasking and focusing on lots at once leads to errors so you will always need someone on a second monitor for more professional productions
@@RavenwolfPictures20 losing jobs is unlikely, its pretty hard to start a project as you need to find people to fill all the roles ahead of time (can't afford to stop in the middle to search) instead we should be seeing more productions from groups who own one of these because they can streamline the production process and the budget constraints get eased a little. any time a job is "outmoded" a new job is born in its place, so could be a good chance for people to expand their skillset and do something fresh.
This camera is mind blowing to me 🤯 Seems like such a cool concept and there are so many features that I'll probably have to re-watch this video a couple of times just to take it all in.
Best review so far - comprehensive, to the point. So many gimmick reviews out today with the narrator just saying wow and filming their reactions, we get it - its mind blowing but show us why
none of the reviews I've seen have been gimmicky. they've all been serious, informative and explain how the DJI is groundbreaking. a few have really good footage as well. no need to spread hostility online dude.
I love how on paper and prior to release, this probably would have been laughed at...But DJI executed a dream and once put into the hands of creators it put its money where its mouth's at... It took what was seemingly a large array of issues between many different brands/models and said, "here, we will listen and give it to you all right now. We don't care if this phases out other models, we are creating one in the process." This is the standard. This is why DJI is one of the more elite companies out there. It listens to the creator (whom usually have crazy demands,) and says, "Okay, you want crazy?! We got you." Thanks for continuously innovating DJI.
I've watched 4 other popular camera RUclipsrs talking about this camera. And clicked this video just cause I haven't seen you before. But man, I found many new things about this camera that others haven't talked about. Great video!
The only video where there is full rundown of the capabilities. Gives us a better idea of what all is possible with this product. I am coming here after watching 2 other "big influencers"!
Why is nobody talking about the fact that heavier zoom lenses can actually be counterbalanced? It's in the spec sheet, FFS. You'd think all these pros and influencers would have those lenses on hand to test with. I've seen maybe a dozen of these first look videos, and not a single person has gone through explaining all the features - especially those that have had it for more than 24 hours.
Another hand holding the same camera in my subscription list😂 I already know everything about this now but that’s not stopping me from watching this again
LMAO, bboy Phil Wizard is in the cinema game!!! ive been wanting to get my hands on this for battles and now i can see perfectly because of you both teaming up for test shots. Cant wait to try the new DJI Shout out to Phil, he's been going hard these last few years!
perfect video, now I know when I will need it and what it is capable of, also it made me think about an ecosystem like apple's just in different specialty.
Great review, Chris!! Man, if I was shooting video of other people, I’d sell all my cats to buy it. If I had cats. I love cats. Okay, I’m getting off topic… Great review, Chris!! 👍🇦🇺😄🦘
I don’t have the ronin sc2, is the button to lock/unlock where the camera is looking available on that gimbal? That’s such a small detail that’s so great and I want it.
@@thechrishau DJIs stuff is incredible but I've come to realise I need to up my knowledge before I up my gear again. If you guys ever make it to Scotland drop me a line. This camera is basically designed for my usecase ... i need this :D haha
that side by side with A7SIII seemed odd. First the color of the red bull logo on the floor looked more magenta on the DJI footage as well as the back wall, 2nd the texture/details in his shirt and pants and the chairs in the background were gone in the DJI footage - odd because in other shots the chairs looked fine.
Chris... How does the image compare to say... c300/500, R5, Komodo, a7SIII. IYO is this gonna be a decent commercial cam? I'm only tempted because it's gonna make the integration with the Inspire 3 incredible! Otherwise I shoot c500/R5
You sort of breezed by it, but can you go over (or do another video) about mounting larger lenses with the counterbalance? I have the Sony 24GM and the 50 GM, and the 50 is my go-to. So if I can’t balance that it might be a dealbreaker.
Looks. A great camera Well thought through Like apple they have brought ease of use to this where others like you say you have to add to which can be a nightmare and costly
7000€ for the 6K version (or 11 000€ for the 8K version) + 1300€ for the external monitor + 400€ for the video transmitter + 800€ for the warranty + 800€ for the SSD + 200€ for the focus motor... the list goes on and on 😕 that's a lot of money
I was excited THEN saw the price.. still excited but I can only watch from the sidelines of this one.. would be nice to have a cheaper option. if this was priced at around $3500 I would be all for it. however, if I am going to pay that much I am going to get a canon cinema camera that I already have a ton of lenses for.
Honestly what are your thoughts on this camera!? Feels like it came out of nowhere.
It looks unreal tbh lol
Love your videos by the way. Keep it up 👍

For streaming live events it's gonna be so much easier because its compact and ready to go
I hadn’t even thought about a product like this but it looks really awesome
I have a feeling you'd really like it.
It’s existed , called DJI ecosystem! Just you have to build your own from almost scratches !
The Ronin 4D is like a thing from the future! The features are so impressive!

Best review on this camera by far. You nailed the key questions on everyone's mind. Thanks, Chris.

DJI is really dominating the market like Jeff Bezos, love it.
Actually tho!
Don't love it too long. Monopolies never serve us.
tbh that THUMBNAIL is the best thumbnail ive seen on youtube. And I've been here for friggin years!

honestly, I just want a reasonably affordable 4 axis gimbal for larger cameras
Best review Ive seen yet. Good job Chris
Thank you. This is the best DJI Ronin 4D review IMHO so far. Just subscribed as well.
This is the best review on RUclips and i've seen a lot lol 👌🏻👌🏻

Right, I'd like to see this with a decent cine lens. If it's a serious cinema camera it's got to support cine lenses.
Man I wish I could hit that like button 10 times great video man best so far on this camera thank you.
I do feel like dji did a great job at this camera especially considering this is a first generation attempt at this type of camera
They are pulling lots of tech from all their other products.
I like how they solved so many problems. A dream camera for sure!
Wow Bear’s camera presence is incredible, and her knack for dialogue is superb 😂
Just in time for my personal Christmas!
Dopest stock camera set up I have ever seen
Fantastic review. Chris is excellent at explaining and reviewing kit. Great as always 👊🏻
That thumbnail tho… 🔥🔥🔥
It looks great! Thanks for the video, Chris. Btw, you are my favourite photographer. Top notch!!
Great vid Chris! Very informative and easy to watch!
Best outro ever!
Great video! Very informative!
Cool! Thank you for sharing it. ✌️
Loved the video Chris, welcome back Bear! My other comment was premature, damn this camera is cool.
Absolute best review of this camera I have seen so far! Love how in depth you went on some of the features.
Thank you so much!
Awesome review Chris! Better covered than Pete. LOL
Great review man! This is the video I was looking for.
Thank You .. well done review 👍
Mind. Blown.
Whoever writes for Bear is amazing. Chris is impressive too, in case those are different people.
Bear writes for bear.
This is why I invest in glass over body. Can’t wait to see where the future of this style goes from here.
it's mind blowing! 🔥
I like my ninja walk but I'm really liking the Z-axis thing!

Well I appreciate you being here.
such a break through camera, really cool things coming out of DJI.
LMAO, bboy Phil Wizard is in the cinema game!!! ive been wanting to get my hands on this for battles and now i can see perfectly because of you both teaming up for test shots.
Cant wait to try the new DJI
Shout out to Phil, he's been going hard these last few years!
I'm a young 69 (my opinion 🤔), but with replaced hip and semi-buggered shoulder, my R-SC2 and GH5 are enough to handle. This thing is nuts!
perfect video, now I know when I will need it and what it is capable of, also it made me think about an ecosystem like apple's just in different specialty.

Isn't he the best!
Mind blown today 🔥🔥
Actually right!?
5:57 Man, all these RUclipsrs are really selling this thing …hard. 🤣
whoa! That is so lit🔥🔥
Would you recommend for high quality vlogs?
I don’t have the ronin sc2, is the button to lock/unlock where the camera is looking available on that gimbal? That’s such a small detail that’s so great and I want it.
the remote monitor, what is the item number on that? cant seem to find it anywhere. thanks
I see the correct evolution direction of compact cinema camera from DJI RONIN 4D
Aww where’d the triangle thumbnail go? I liked that one 🥺
Love your videos dude! Thank you from Scotland!. Helping me make my channel so much better although I don't think ill be able to afford this beauty

cat outros are the best outros amongs all other outros. this is why you should use a cat outro all the time you need an outro.
Hi, please tell me why the SD slot on the remote monitor
would be interesting to have more analysis of the image quality, and how this sensor compares to a cine camera or other cameras.
You didn’t mention rolling shutter or low light capability?

I honestly thought you forgot to take off the lens sticker till I saw you were actually using a Pro-mist filter 😝
Yes but can it fly like a drone tho?..
Does seem like I need this. I’m impressed!
Liked for the cat. Nothing else. Look after him.
I saw Jon.. hahaha i did not expect that
This with a Macbook Pro would be an ultimate Pro Setup
where is the link to the movie mentioned in the video? i paused and looked for it in the description since the card didnt pop up but....nothing
THIS CAMERA IS INSANE BUT IT CAME OUT OF COMPLETELY NOWHERE
Does this camera support or have redundancy recording? Is there only 1 cfExpress cards slot and 1 DJI SSD slot?
The gimbal you can take off because They’re going to make a bigger gimbal to take larger lenses like zooms In the future another accessory

Get a blackmagic with ef mount. Even better bang for buck and better color science.
Everything is cool, but the davinchi doesn't understand ProRes RAW
did he make a mistake there? Why would a camera need a barometer? What would air pressure affect on the camera that it would need to check that?
omg your cat >3< so cute aaaaaaaaaaaaa
Shout out to Phil wizard! One of the nastiest bboys!
And so Chris has now deemed the word “ gimbal walk” official. Sounds like a dance move tbh
My passion⚡is expensive😍 it would be a pleasure if i met this monster, Would be too if i met you. Thank u again for this awesome video
From a certain perspective, this camera is a high-end camera drone without propellers.
Can i put the 50mm gm on this camera?
is it detachable for repair ?
I need this 😭😭 my first camera was the original Osmo so this is just coming full circle lol
I kinda wanna see the original Osmo X3 vs this 😂
This is the massive version of the OSMO
