Yes, I would assume the same would apply. But the photography needs are probably a bit different though. A sports team definitely needs photos but having 4 or 5 photographers taking shots of the same thing is not as necessary as having multiple video angles.
Hey love the vids, just had a question about shooting the vids. I don't have enough money for a gimble so how do you get clips to be so stable shooting handheld?
Having stabilization in the camera and/or the lens definitely helps but otherwise it’s just a question of practice. Tuck in your elbows and move your body, not your arms.
You should also link a gondola profile, since even if you've only shot for a bunch of small teams it totals all your numbers together to make it more impressive!

what you don't really admit or recognize is that by encouraging others to do free work you are canabalizing your own rate. There's better ways to get access than offering to do free work for the team, who is more than likely already getting free work from interns, etc.
I'm not saying that you should randomly offer your services for free. What I'm saying is to offer a fair trade with a purpose in mind. If you are trying to build your first portfolio and want to make it look professional, getting free access to professional sports gives you the opportunity to build a professional portfolio that you'll then use to get high-paying jobs. To this day, I still do free gigs. But I do them because I know I'm getting something very specific out of them that I wouldn't get any other way. Free work is not just used by businesses to take advantage of us. If you play your cards right, you can actually use it to take advantage of them. Actually in reality, like I said in the video, it's more a win-win situation (if you do it with a purpose).
Sports photography generally doesn't have a lot of value simply because there isn't a market for it. When is the last time you sat down and just looked at photos of a game? Unless it is a high profile professional or college game there simply isn't a market for it. Photography and sports photography is just like any other art form, 95% of people will never make money 4% will make some, an maybe 1% will actually make a living doing it.
@@MicahHManuel Just to be clear, my channel is specifically about sports videography and not photography. But I do believe that sports photography still has a lot of value. I'm sure you watch tons of photos on Instagram and Facebook everyday that have quotes or headlines over them. But there's probably more photography needs in the media than there are in sports teams.
@@BeyondTheGame_E not saying there is not value in videos or photos. Just saying that it is a art form and just like any art being good or great does not always equal "value". Are there more talented artist then Nicki Minaj? For sure. Sometimes being great doesn't always mean there is great monetary value and that is what a lot of people chase
I'm not saying just go do free work and give away your product for free. I am saying that athletics and sports is a hobby for 99.9% of people involved.
