The reason for Whitebeard's name, even though he has a mustache instead, is because of the meaning of "hige" (髭), which can mean both "mustache" or "beard". Adding another character turns "hige" into specifically mustache ("kuchihige") and beard ("agohige").
Fun fact, "hige" can also mean whiskers.
You should watch the One Piece movie, Baron Omatsuri and the Secret Island. That movie encompasses what the genre and tone of One Piece is

Movie 4 Dead End Adventure is one of my favorite One Piece movies. Fun side adventure that feels like One Piece

My first one piece movie i watched in japan. I still went to the cinema even though i dont understand japanese that much at that time. I still enjoyed it and fully remember the moments i experienced watching one piece.
- One Piece Movie 10 / Strong World first came out in theaters on Dec.12, 2009 & was the first one written by Oda (he also designed the Straw Hats outfits), but along to promote the movie also came out Chapter 0 later animated to Episode 0 & the Little East Blue Arc (ep.426 - 429)
- Shiki “the Golden Lion” (voiced by Naoto Takenaka who voices Whitejack & Doulbe Down in Film Gold / Scott McNeil) aka the “Flying Pirate”, admiral of the Golden Lion Pirates, birthday March 20th, has the Fuwa Fuwa no mi / Float-Float Fruit a Paramecia that allows himself & any object he touches float similar to telekineses (which Oda in an SBS wasn’t going to have), his swords he replaced his legs are named Oto (means Cherry Ten) & Kogarashi (means Wintry Wind) both being unknown Graded blades, & in original designs he was instead bald with more lion-like features for his face & the steering wheel in his head was originally a concept for Kuma
- Dr. Indigo (voiced by Ryuusei Nakao the voice of Eric & Caesar Clown / Sean Schemmel the voice of Helmeppo & Hatchan) the mad scientist of the crew, birthday Dec. 5th, his scarf looks like its hovering is because of a wire inside of it, & laugh “piro piro …” maybe a reference to Pierrot a stock character in pantomime which he tends to do
- Scarlet (voiced by Banjou Ginga the voice of Axe Hand Morgan / Bryan Massey the voice of Dragon) is not only a giant red gorilla he is also a commander on the crew
- Others characters like the little girl Xiang & her sister Ever, fishman pirate that was about to join shiki is named Kitajima (voiced by Japanese Olympic swimmer Kosuke Kitajima), as a cameo the bartender from the 4th movie, & Billy (voiced by Yasuhiro Takato / Jessie James Grelle both voices Wanze) is Indigo’s latest experiment an electric bird (combination of a duck & peacock) called the Thunder Bird, but he isn’t the only species on the island of Merveille which Oda have named (some didn’t even appear in the movie) while the plants are the IQ flower & Daft Green (which are similar to the tree that Luffy put his hat on Rusukina but Oda in an SBS states they aren’t related)
Oda did dirty to Lion Skiki by making Shiki call himself a chicken when he first saw his own reflection in the mirror with the broken helm planted in his skull😂

NAH, imo the difference in quality between the first 5 movies is enormous.
#1 is pretty generic, but it predated the anime so it's ok. It has its charm and it's pretty short
#2 is pretty good with some interesting ideas and interesting characters
#3 is abhorrent.
#4 is great, with great visuals, interesting characters and a threatening villain. One of the better ones.
#5 is not really One Piece, there is literal magic and the characters act...out of character (here we differ in opinion, I personally don't enjoy it, but I do believe it only shares the characters with One Piece)

QUESTION: Golden Lion Shiki has finally appeared in the main storyline, so does this mean that the events of the movie - STRONG WORLD has been officially incorporated into the timeline of the main story?
Oda: Well, you can "forcefully" incorporate the whole movie but if you do that, it won't be that much connected to the main story. However, regarding "STRONG WORLD", what I think is, the "Shiki" that existed originally in the main story is the same person used in the movie. Yes, he's in the main story from the start. However, if it wasn't shown in the movie, Shiki was not supposed to have eaten the "Float-Float Fruit". I have a self-rule that I won't make a guy that can freely fly and float in the air, so I decided to seal away the "Float-Float Fruit" (Because this is a manga about pirates), but since it was used in the movie, I have to use it now on the original work. LOL. It's true that a strange "reverse importation" has occurred.

Nico Robin's outfit in this movie is the best fit she has ever had. The glasses, the ponytail, and the long sweater... just good lord is she pretty.
western fandom loves omatsuri but unfortunately japan fandom and Oda hates it😂 omatsuri is the one of the reason that he started to supervise the movie so for that credit it was worth it

honestly luffy should get nami and robin just for how much he has done for both of them. saved one from pretty much a life of slavery and the other from both eternal prison and torture as well as giving her the ability to trust again and a family. its one thing to want a harem for the sake of it but really luffy deserves it. and picking 1 over the other just leaves a sour taste in my mouth. hancock is a sure case. didn't do anything for her so that ship would be more forced as no character development between the 2 happens. it was really just hancock got talked down to she fell in love and now simps harder than anyone in the world.

This movie is written entirely by Oda himself. This is in fact the ONLY One Piece film that was written by Oda from start to finish. That's why this movie has a lot of Nami appreciation. Also this movie is a LuNami gem, you can almost call it Oda's personal fanfiction. 😂 Oda is a huge Nami fan after all and also the biggest LuNami supporter. 😌
Btw at the end of the movie, don't know if you caught it but Sanji refers to Nami's message as a "love letter" and Nami doesn't deny it at all. In fact she doubles down saying she left that message especially for Luffy to hear it. That's why when Luffy tries to hear it in front of everyone she starts to blush and panic. You don't see it in the movie but Oda drew the moment Luffy heard the full message called "after 3 seconds" where Nami is seen blushing and Luffy has a huge smile on his face.

a bit of advice is that People DROP IT after like 10-15 Episodes and it is Extremely Annoying...It is a Fact that One Piece starts off Slow.. it takes time to Build Up...but After Watching like 50 Episodes... You will surely get a glimpse of why it is So damn Popular..and after going in to 300,400 and 500's Episodes..You will understand that it is not OVERRATED...and also you will know why it is ONE OF THE BIG 3..

BUT if you want to give it a chance watch the East blue saga wich is like the first 60 episodes (100 chapters if you Read the manga) if you enjoyed that then you're going to have quite a ride but if you didn't one piece is probably not for you and you can drop it, also don't listen to those who say it gets good after 300 or something...
