Ultimately of course you still have to have Business ethics and if it were me, I would keep a copy and a signed piece of paper for every decision that you make with a customer especially if it's something like this.

About a week later she starts texting me about alleged damages, I text her back pictures of her pristine apartment. She would've 100% tried to screw me with the deposit and try to claim I never paid my last month. The paper trail makes it very obvious that I paid my last month and got my deposit back.
