@@alloverthelake6396 yes, I usually do pretty well but I don't find huge mother loads like some of the people I see on RUclips. I put in a lot of work and check hundreds of spots, usually finding anywhere from 1 to maybe 10 at each spot typically. I have a couple of spots that are dead elm trees that will yield me 20 or 30. I spend the winter time scouting out new spots and I have found a lot of good spots this winter, so still hoping for a big motherload. Here in Southern Ontario, I don't typically find many black morels. Going to try a little harder this year to find some

The black morels are in Colorado I know. I don't really find them, mostly grey and yellow. I'm really excited about this season. My fishing videos don't get more than 2k views typically. When I had 4 mushroom videos hit 10k last spring it was pretty cool.
It's disappointing when you put 2 hours into editing a video and 50 people watch it.
I had made like 3 or 4 other morel videos in the past with like 200 views.
It's cool to bring people along on my adventures.

@@alloverthelake6396 yeah, I'm sure it takes quite a lot of time for content to get out there. I started on Instagram last May just posting identification on plants and mushrooms and their uses and it took months for me to get any followers. Started picking up a bit lately though. But that's nothing compared to the amount of work that you have to do to make a video and edit it and all of that stuff! Best of luck with your videos my friend! I'll be sure to check them out. I do a lot of fishing as well. I was out catching some brown trout today!

I lived in Kentucky for a couple of years. My first spring over there, one of my friends asked me if I wanted to go look for “dryland fish.” I had no idea what the hell he was talking about and told him that I would pass. Later that day when he came by my house and showed me these “dryland fish” they were morels. Lol! Apparently people over there call them that.

Ok. I have been hunting shrooms for 40 years and we NEVER disrupt the stem of the mushroom. We always cut them at the ground. Never pull them as we were taught it disrupts the mycelium! This is why you get fewer and fewer shrooms in your best spots apparently. Need to research this because it kills me to watch them being pulled out rather than cut at the ground. No disrespect Intended. You have amazing a grooming spots and what a great thing that Zack gets to experience this with you. As an adult he will now take his kids! Thanks for the video

Nice Haul, the soil must be warm down there it's not that warm here in Michigan yet the mycelium mycorrhizal Network is not very active yet here in Michigan temperatures have been too cold this might be the week that things start to fruit we barely have leaves on the trees or the understory so we are definitely behind you guys probably by at least 3 weeks usually when we harvest we cut the mushrooms trying not to disturb the mycelial network.

please do more research. It has been quite established that whether you cut, pull, or pinch off makes no difference. The morel is a fruit of the mycelium, as an apple is to a tree.
