I have a kitty with the same crystal and anxiety issues. We give him gabapentin prescribed by the vet for any big stressful moments he needs to endure and he's on a special diet for crystals too. The special diet will encourage them to drink and urinate more so i definitely recommend a fountain if your kitties like that for drinking. As for the food aggression, just keep them on a schedule (and separate) and they will adjust eventually. it all just takes time. Feliway diffusers for multi cat households is always worth a try too for kitties experiencing stress and becoming territorial. It helped my boy a ton when moving to a new home recently. I hope this helps! Love seeing all the beautiful art you make

I agree the special diet helps a lot my male cat has not had a blockage in a year and a half now thanks to the diet. Then the treats I do give him I make sure they are more natural ingredients.

Gabapentin is a miracle drug for pets 🙌 I work at a vet (Not a veterinarian) and it can be so helpful for those unavoidable stressors. Feliway spray or the wall plugins (not sure if this is just an Australia thing) is so great for day to day, it works by giving off happy hormone smells 😸

Poor Dumpling (and wallet). So not everything works for every cat and I haven't tried everything (nor have I had to deal with crystals) , but Feliway is a hormonal spray or plug-in diffuser that you can uses to keep kitties calm. Zylene is a capsule you open up and pour over food that's basically a milk protein (casein) that helps them feel fuller which calms them down. We currently use Zylkene for my high anxiety girl starting the day of visitors or fireworks. Both Feliway and Zylkene are non-drowsy and available without a prescription. If you need something heavier duty, Gabapentin is prescription medication used to treat pain, stress, anxiety, seizures... a real wonder drug. It requires some trial and error to find the right dose (overdosing a bit will sedate them - it is often used as a sedative for animals that can't behave at the vet). It's rather inexpensive and kicks in quickly. My brother doses his dog with it for fireworks to keep her calm (I've only given it to a cat for seizures/pain). Hope you find something that works for you both.

Love the ample cat content in this video, but poor Dumpling 😿 My friend's cat gets really anxious if anything happens (furniture is moved, guests coming over, wind blowing from the wrong direction) and my friend uses a Feliway diffuser and has been happy about the results. The poor cat used to have bald patches in her fur all the time, but now she's been less stressed (and so is my friend 😅) and the bald patches have disappeared too. I hope you find a solution for the kitty, he seems so adorable and playful! ❤

Did the vet talk to you about getting your kitty some anti-anxiety meds for stressor events like fireworks, people coming over and such? I have a kitty that we give gabapentin an hour or two prior to things like that because he gets easily stressed too😊

Raw meat diet! It will completely heal you cat(s) and will save you a lot of money. I adopted two sick cats seven years ago, they were so sick they almost died. Raw meat diet completely changed their health for better.

Had to come back for some tips for a high stress cat. My previous cat was very anxious and, thankfully, he was not prone to urinary issues. I think a few of these things can help.
      - Find a good primary veterinarian that leans more to cats and understands urinary issues and stress in cats.
      - Gabapentin works wonders and is my number one tool to have in an Anxious Kitty Kit.
      - Place a Feliway diffuser in your cat’s common areas in the household. Use this consistently as it may not always have a night/day difference. You can also purchase the spray and spray that in his bedding and onto a handkerchief to place around his neck.
      - Pet Rescue Remedy also works wonders for my rabbit and cat. You can add a few drops into their water as an extra boost.
      - Having a large vertical crate for your anxious baby filled with their favorite things and a litter box provides a safe haven for them when they feel they have no where to run. Keeping this area dark and easy to access will keep them in one spot and not frantically running from place to place in the household.
      - Multiple litter boxes that are easy to access will also ease stress. You have 2 babies, so, 2 boxes plus 1 more-THREE litter boxes AH HA HA! 🧛‍♂️
      - Preparing for every and any stressful event is key. Make sure you use your tools for anything that you think might stress out your baby. Heavy rain, heavy wind, fireworks, construction, visitors, removing shoes outside the house, changing clothes before coming home, and most of all, changing their environment as little as humanly possible.
      - Last, but certainly not least, keep them on a prescription urinary diet for the rest of his life even if he’s doing better. Doing better doesn’t mean he no longer needs it, it means it works and he should stay on it. You can ask your primary doctor if it’s ok for Future to eat too. (Healthy cats can usually eat this too-but check first!)
I’m really sorry you went through this. 😔 Unfortunately for cats that have this it usually comes back. There is sometimes the exception to the rule, but it’s best to play it safe because this can be fatal. So do your best! Remember, it wasn’t a waste of money, you did your best to save your baby and got him the care he needed!
